(sry for double post, can't edit)
disabling skills for some maps is great, so maybe market of time is not needed
The main reason, why I normally do not play random maps, is because in multiplayer there is nearly everytime at least one player, that does not have access to basic mines, cause a really hard monster is blocking way, while all other players have easy access. Therefore we always have to restart the game after a few ingame days... and therefore we prefer custom maps, but they are limited.
Can this still happen with Hota 1.5?

I never quite imagined this level of editing when I first read the rumours of having more template options...but this is absolutely brilliant...
The potential of more advanced templates could really help to rejuvenate competitive play in a lot of new ways. We'll hopefully see many new kinds of tournaments spring up that will seek to explore these new possibilities.
And unlike having a list of selectable options provided pre-game, such as how it's done in WoG, then such advanced templates won't actually damage the identity of HotA itself, while providing a ton of customisability...
I'm very existed about this piece of news, so colour me impressed by this milestone in development, for sure.

Will it also be possible to enable Market of Time? I know it does not exist in Hota map editor... but maybe you can add it again? At least for custom maps everyone should be able to decide on their own, if they want to play with or without it.
But... I'm sure there was already a big discussion about this. So if you still don't wan't to add it, it is okay.
There is no such object in the game. Only graphics for it. No code for properties. And since for most people that graphics is now associated with properties in WoG, we most probably won't use it. If we ever feel the need of such object - there will be a new look for it.
On an unrelated to that note:
Shoutout to Gruk - the (relatively) new programmer of the team, who took the main part in implementing long-planned RMG Template Editor!

Template editor looks very good. Being able to specify placement frequencies for specific object types is a very important addition.

Did you already made a thread or posted somewhere your tweaks? I already know how to edit some minor things like element from spells and such easy to edit things. Please link your post about it here
Yes I already made that thread, you can check it out here: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=43804

I never understood the big deal out of Huts, it's a gamble, gamble is part of a game where random has a role. And you can always use a scout if you're afraid to deal with a skill you may not have desired to get.

@MattII @Galaad
HD mod actually pushed an update a while ago including dialogue to refuse Witch Huts. But the change wasn't mentioned in the changelog, and the next update removed the feature again, maybe just temporarily until 1.5.0, who knows.
For SoD it probably shouldn't be changed because it would seem to alter the gameplay beyond the scope of HD mod, to my understanding, at least, but the crew can be more liberal with HotA if they feel it's a good change.

@nik & Gruk: Very nice idea and impressive work! Looks intuitive and powerful. This could increase replayability a lot and cause a new surge in fan-made RMG templates.
Also it solves a problem my brother recently had. He played a giant sea map with underground and including many many portals. After a while and especially because of all the portals, it became freaking difficult to remember all the area connections. So when he stopped playing and later loaded the game again, it took him about half an hour to figure out those connections again
Therefore I already thought about including an ingame option to disable portals in RMG like those to disable roads or underground. Now with that template editor, portals can luckily be disabled.
And do I understand you correctly that the template editor will allow editing and saving both classic SoD templates and the new HotA template format? Then it could even be useful for people not playing HotA for editing them conveniently.

I agree with you.
During my gameplay I rather prefer templates without teleports at all - Mini Nostalgia, Jebuss Cross, Poor jebus etc.

You know what would be awesome? The abbility to set extraordinary victory or lost condition for random maps, like ie. building the Grail structure (in terms of victory) or reaching a time limit/loosing first hero/loosing first castle (in terms of failure).

If editor will be in english, I'll do what I can to translate it.
It will be available in English and Russian.
But if you want to make a Polish version, I can tell you how to proceed. Translations from English are stored in HotA.dat, so it requires to be familiar with this file.

RMG Editor will be compatible with SoD, in the sense that it will be able to load SoD templates. But files will be saved only in the latest HotA format.
