They don't have to be similar when they are made with new RMG Template Editor. There's quite a lot of things you can tune with it, like what kind of objects will spawn in different areas, number of those objects and stuff like that.

I heard about the "survival mode" and finf the idea brilliant.
Just a quick question before I download it, does it work in co-op (2 or more human players against the game)?

Yeah but also.. co-op version is not identical to single player version. It's adjusted for difficulty reasons and it only supports 2 player co-op. I would love to hear what you guys think about it, I haven't playtested co-op version myself so yeah.

I played single player version and only managed to beat it once (with hardcore rules). By the way it's not a requirement to play with HC rules. Especially when you're just trying out the template, discovering what works and what doesn't. It's more like.. an additional challenge.

Will it be possible to select both classic and new Resistance skill in newest HotA version? Will new Resistance get a new name and icon?
Also will there be any new heroes or rebalancing of old ones?
Will you finally rebalance some of the skills?

I'm not a hota dev but
1) No.
2) Most likely yes.
3,4) Not in upcoming patch.

Not in HotA 1.5.4, which is mostly a bugfix, but all of this will be added in the next release after that.  You can, however, revert the Resistance skill back to its original functionality even now, using the "test update" checkbox in HotA launcher.

Not yet, but it is also still planned for one of the future releases.

About newest version of HotA.

Where in the world did you get that update of HotA version 1.5.4, exactly?

The official download link still refers to version 1.5.3.

Hota pretty much unplayable for me...

First of all, I absolutely love the new content that Hota has. That being said, I last played the game (Heroes 3 - Hota version) on October 16, 2018. I decided to fire it back up yesterday and I was informed there was an update, so I promptly updated.

After loading the game, I played several in-game days (I always play on "hard" difficulty and have since the game's original release) only to find that all roads out of the starting town had loads of high level troops that were really end-game packs to fight. I had to give up that map and generated about 6 more maps, only to find they were all that way (I always play a random generated scenario map in Giant or Extra Huge size).

I tried again today, to pass the time as I'm working, only to get extremely irritated yet again that the game I love to play has been changed somehow to now be unplayable the same way I have been playing since release.

You will notice that the difficulty only changes the resources distributed at the beginning and how well the computer plays, not the mobs on the map -  or so it says. Like I mentioned before, I have never had an issue like this before and it is very saddening to me that this has happened.

Today I prepared a screenshot of the only road out of the starting town with pictures of the stacks of mobs you would have to overcome in order to seize another town or pass in that general direction. You'll also notice in the game that it is only week 2, day 5, so not a long time for troops to generate to that size.

Any help you could give me in this situation is greatly appreciated. I also would like to apologize if this is the wrong forum for this post. I looked at numerous and this is the closest I could decide on.

Edit: I always play with monster strength "normal." Not sure if this will help. I didn't adjust that because I never have before.

monster strength also depends on template settings. which template(s) are you playing?

in the screenshot you posted, the monsters are guarding several items, so the value, and therefore guard strength, is increased. pandora boxes could have a high value, and also some of those artifacts could be for a quest, so also have a higher value.

if the dirt zone in your screenshot has the maximum guard strength in template editor, these monsters look quite normal to me.

Ok, this I don't understand. The question you posted was in a thread of its own, but it was already on the brink of derailing within the first few answers to your opening post. Since you already posted the question elsewhere, I decided to close the thread and leave the question open in the other thread.

I've even sent you a PM (which is still pending delivery, so you haven't opened and read it yet - check the "HC Messenger" option in the top right; but be fast, since the message is about to expire, I suspect around New Years' Eve) about it, to explain my reasons for closing it.

Furthermore, if you feel you want to get banned because you can't find a way to delete this account ... why don't you simply stop using it and stop visiting here? The end result is the same. There's no reason to go about it the way you are doing now, in any case.

I kinda wanted to make a new thread for Hota templates. But I guess I can't cause I'm new here.
Either way.. I just wanted to share my new template it's called Duel.

Duel (M+U).
Core idea of this template: each zone has its own specialized purpose.

Starting location is mainly for resources and high level dwellings.

Underground zone is for Creature Banks, Artifacts and Pandora boxes with spells (1-4 level).

Central zone is a desert terrain with Pyramids, stat boosters and a couple of Faerie Dragon dwellings.

All the most valuable stuff is in the underground, meaning that there's no need to rush central zone asap. Also Fortress and Tower no longer have to go through the trouble of managing terrain penalty for creature bank units, like Angels and Cyclops.

Duel (M-U). Smaller, faster version. Terrain is always Lava on a natural expand.

Duel vs AI. Same templates, but here you can try it out versus boosted AI. Its behavior is quite unpredictable considering that it gets early access to high level spells and heroes. So there's a chance it might come to you very early. Or sometimes they get unlucky and don't find Prisons early on and it severely gimps their development.

Duel JC (L). This is L size version of JC template with only 2 starting zones instead of 4.

Since there is no any popular template/map thread, ill share mine here as well:
mt_Rocket One rich, also challenging mirror template that i made and already got positive feedback from few skilled players in lobby . The reason it came to existence is because there was no rich mirror template with lots of towns ( not exactly 20-49 Kappa) so i decided to make one. Log heroes+Luna banned by default, more details here:

Enigma Some rich template with desert treasure and +40 zones. Unlike Jebus here you have to farm more zones before getting to the main treasure but no worries, even if opp gets there first you still have plenty to explore while avoiding them. More:

*Emblem of cognizance is banned in both maps.
PS mt_Rocket won't work if the folder it is put in has a different name and don't try to modify it by any means if you have no idea how to work with mirror templates

Hey. I wanted to ask why just Emblem of Cognizance and not all the Eagle Eye artifacts? Although on Enigma all 3 are disabled, on Rocket just one. In my pvp templates I usually disable all Eagle Eye and all Diplo stuff. If players have tournament rules on then Diplo items are also useless.

Before answering your questions, i cannot believe we still don't have the "delete" option for posts in 2k18. I mean i even disabled my adblocker just to support HC..
Edited my original post- my guess is template name and its folder should be exactly same,let me know if that fixed your problem. As to your first question - some pendants alongside with treasure eagle eye arties are completely useless except when they belong to seer huts and i believe banning minor one is enough because usually players get upset when they receive the unwanted art from banks since it literally does nothing. I mean in mirror getting stoic watchman or bird of perception is not a big deal since opp will receive them as well but in non-mirror it might be annoying.And no,banning diplo arts is a mistake,especially in mirror. Won't go into details as i want YOU to figure it/them out for yourself.
