First of all I don't have to be a car mechanic to criticise my poor, old and crappy Rover. Its totally stupid logic, please don't say you actually do belive what you have just stated..
Moreover: It's better to not do anything than to steal other's work. Also its definitely better than doing something of medium quality and then crying about it on the forum and wasting others time like you did. Also, weren't you supposed to leave this 'unfriendly' forum? ))
peace

Even though there are numerous crashes, its still top quality. I'm not going back to SoD anytime soon, thanks for brilliant work guys!

lol, you called macron poor, old, and crappy. that's mean.

(pssst... don't call my logic stupid, it will get mad at you. trust me, you don't want that. it's scary and justifies itself, no matter what it does to people.)

lol, you talk about "stealing" like macron does. there's that "pot" again...

and, if you're referring to my work as "medium quality", then you sound even more like macron(lol). but, you are partially correct, at least. a lot of my old work is of medium-to-lower quality, compared to what i am doing now. also, i don't cry about anything. i merely state my case. and i post here because i'm bored, and the topics are interesting sometimes. you keep talking about the past, like it matters at all. but this isn't the topic to discuss this in, now is it?

to be back on topic, hota, keep it up. you guys are setting a standard that others should be adhering to, or surpassing even.

I find the rmg generated water content like you show above... completely unappealing.

Well, compared to designed maps then rmg generated maps might not look as appealing in certain ways, true.

I personally want to see more designed 1v1 maps. There's not a single L/XL map for 1v1 between all 3 expansion and the base game (so far). Also, there's only a single map each for the S/M maps.

I personally like the appeal of designed maps, but I mostly don't play with AIs, so most of the designed maps I haven't played. Anyone else find themselves in the same situation?

OH YEAH! Great to get a (late) christmas present like this!

I've been playing a large map as Cove, and I like the faction a lot, though T1 dies like flies.

One thing I wanted to say: I've noticed that there's stilted english in some of the hero describtions. It's minor stuff really, but if you want I can write them here with corrections. Just so you can edit it in a later version if you feel like it.

Otherwise, great mod, I wanted to watch a movie before I went to bed, but somehow I managed to blow 2 hours away on it without even realising.

For those whose MAP EDITOR crashes on startup, you just need to run it in Windows 7 compatibility settings. It worked for me. Go to properties, and check the run in compatability and select windows 7. Thats it.

Let's summarize outcome.
I've pointed, that HOTA 1.3 is buggy and simply non-playable, as they fastened release.
After that my own figure was attacked.
So I don't have a right to call HOTA buggy, because it is not good for HOTA praisers. OK, just sit and try to play at least 1 map to the end. Macron1 is moron, he says about bugs, so prove, that (oh my god, RMG is not working at all) HOTA can be played in it's current state.

Have you even bothered to install it and try to play it? Because you sound like you heard something about HotA and criticized it without even playing it. For me the only thing that doesn't work properly right now is map editor. Everything else is fine.

It seems that everyone got other bugs, but still can play it more or less. I don't know, maybe these are things which depend on system version etc.

And I didn't criticize you just for criticizing bugs. I criticized you because of boring, predictable and stupid as heck attacks on HotA Crew just because something is buggy (like if nothing was bugged at the day of release nowadays...).

Macron, it makes no sense to critic, that's how moddding works: release then play-testers help to identify bugs. This is the way it works for VCMI too, yet I don't see you critic VCMI for that (In VCMI we can't finish a game neither)

VCMI 0.94 I already playable, and I've managed to play several maps to the end.
But the difference that VCMI is not finished and still in develop, and HOTA is an extention to already finished official EXE file.
VCMI has version 0.94 < 1, and HOTA is 1.3 > 1.
When VCMI will be 1.0 version, it will be possible to criticize it.

This is original game bug with music.
There are 3 ways to avoid it.
- Play with HD-mod (but for now better without HD+ and not with "32 bit MMX" or "32 bit True" render - there can be some bugs (hope they will be fixed soon)).
- Set music volume in game to 0 and play without music
- Set compatibility with "Windows 98" to game exe-file.

No, for now posting here is the best way.

I know that like every other H3 feature it for sure has people that like it. But imagine this:

You have your castle near (literally near) water, you build a ship walk 2! tiles board ship and that is it! End of turn... Does not seem like fun.

This current boarding system makes is adequate only for traveling between 1-2 big continents. If you want to travel between 3+ islands, it will take you one week. So you are stuck with either being on water or traveling on land and because water no is so "empty", people will cringe on land.

Or lack of. This is one of the two reasons no one is playing water based maps. The second is the lack of dwellings and eye candies.
Personally I would like to have the boarding keep movement points and I already scripted it in two of my maps.

macron, i wasn't calling you a moron, i don't know you well enough to say so. i was saying that your style of continiously posting negative things about other people's work(mainly the hota team), makes you look like a moron. your posting on hota makes me think you have a personal issue with their team. maybe you do, but it doesn't matter. i was trying to advise you against it, as it doesn't make you shine as a person, it instead reverses any shine you might have, and makes you look dull instead.

i just don't see why you are continually attacking someone else's work, is all. if you don't like something, make it better yourself. that's why when people come out with substandard object patches, i find what i can improve on, instead of jumping all over them for putting out shoddy work.

the way i look at it, someone sharing shoddy work that i can improve on, is better than someone not sharing any work at all.

look at what i did with my older work, i took many things that someone else had added, and improved on them. not all of my work was my own, originally(it wasn't theirs either, it was ripped from other games, but so what). but people liked what i did, and it was because i didn't sit and complain about something that needed done. i did what had to be done, instead.

you see what i am saying? the only reason people dislike me is because of my personality. they never(at least, most people) disliked me for my work itself. you could improve on other people's work, you could improve on your own work, and stop *****ing, and you might find people liking you more. it's up to you.

Right now with HotA I was expecting for some top notch water areas... (maybe I have not found the right map yet).

I was ecpecting a very, very small starting area (in extremis only your castle on a rock), with water sorrounding it with some rich pathways in it, leading to 3-4 small sized islands and "continent(s)".

Such a map will put to good use all the water related content implemented in the game already.

Something like in the pics below:

(with water a little bigge, not so round and surrounding continent broken into 3/4 pieces)

You can install it to empty folder at all.
it's not checking at all, what version of HMM3 you got. And I think it's issue.
