I am Russian. Two days ago, on the forum, I asked Docent Pikolyan about the release of the Factory. He advised to be patient and wait for January 2021. He explained that there is still a lot of work, but they will try to make it in time.

What the hell people? It will be ready when it's ready. Chill. We've waited so long, we will wait a few months more. I had a concert planned for May this year but due to Corona it was first moved to end of September and now... the date is November...2021.
Life is about waiting
And as mentioned before I would prefer a finished product. This is not an AAA game nor it's even official. It's a damn good fan project and we should feel happy that it even exists

Plus, what's the rush? Unless it's a pretty broken city it will be the 11th town in a game that only allows 8 players. After a few tries with it you will be playing mostly as usual, specially cause the terrain and his special objects are already here.

He didn't say it would be released in September, he said the city will be finished in September and then there is balance and cutscene work to be done. While I am sceptical, it does seem highly likely that 'the Factory faction is (basically) finished' will come several months before 'the Factory patch is finished' (and that's not a slight on HOTA, that's just how things go when you are making a polished product, especially since the Factory faction is only, albeit a large, part of what is coming with the Factory patch).

While the wait can be frustrating, remember that it's a mod, and nobody is not getting any money out of this. One thing good about hota is that even there would go a lot of time between new version releases, the releases have happened eventually at some point. There have been mods that have looked extremely promising, they have been worked for years, but in the end, there have been no release - people have waited for nothing. Life is life, and nothing is never 100% guaranteed, but there's pretty much minimal chances that Factory wouldn't be released at some point.

But im saying same words as You i dont undterstood rest of you all. Docent said Factory as city will be ready to september only city and rest of this like add to game,cutscenes,balance ? As allways new patches come to new year. So yeah they heave extra time and it will be ready probalblly

Can't for the life of me understand why it has taken this long. REALLY REALLY regret waiting on this update for so long.
We've seen the videos. All the units appear 'functional/presentable', the town screen also looks presentable. I mean wtf are they waiting for????

What else am I missing. alpha, beta, gamma, zeta, omega testing. Srsly any game breaking bug like the one in 1.6.0 can be detected easily in a few games, u dun need a community to test for u. Other non-game breaking bugs we can put up with

Maybe the problem is you checking this forum every day. Instead focus on your life and time will flow by quicker for you. Be grateful for what they have already achieved instead of moaning which won't help. They know what they are doing as a team. On the outside everything seems simple but it's not.

Please the HotA team give those riflemen proper human size. They look like giants while they shouldn.t be bigger than the Enchanter. NWC/3DO had already set standards for monster size so please don't ruin the proportions.

The proportions were always off, a Titan or a dragon should have filled half the battlefield and a Pixie/Sprite should have been tiny by comparison. But that would'nt work from a gameplay perspective.

I think the size is "off" o n purpose. Creature's size and the look in general is also a way of telling how menacing it is, without looking at their stats. If they were made noticeable smaller, players would likely get fooled and not understand that those cowboys are tier 6 with around 60 HP.

Well yes the proportions were always off and also they serve to identify how strong a monster is... I give you that but when it comes to Human/Elf units they have more or less the same proportions regardless to the level: Pikemen, Archers, Swordsmen, Zealots, Peasant, Rogue, Sharpshooter, Enchanter.

I agree, these cowboys are the size of a Titan. Enchanters size would be much more fitting. And when you know them, Enchanters look terrifying enough...

RMG Editor question
Is it possible to force terrain in zone without having any towns in that zone? I can set town hint even with 0 towns/villages in given zone but checking 'Mach to town' terrain box gives an error when leaving zone properties window (and unchecks itself).
I speciffically want to set the terrain type to same as other zone.

But just to add to the discussion, i am glad the factory seems to be focusing on fire, which will probably translate in fire magic buff.
I made a post earlier on about how fire magic is just so much worst than the three other schools when comparing the raw damage output but if the factory is focused around fire magic and they buff it a little, maybe that'll also give inferno some slack.
Inferno isn't that bad, the units aren't all garbage, but it's mostly that they are the only ones who focuses on fire magic and it's the worst in the game at the moment.
Hopefully this changes. Inferno will probably become viable this way, and the new faction looks amazing
