What a weird first half. Brazil looked rock solid on defense, Chile very shaky...but in the end, a big mistake of Brazil defense cost them the 1-1. Brazil got the lead early with a nice goal, showing their power in headers (and Chile weakness).

Still a very open game, any team can win.

I'm betting on this, making a profit so far, but has Chile ever won against Brazil?

Holy snow, Chile deserved the victory in the second half

Brazil was totally scared the first 30 minutes of second half, I didn't hear the name of Neymar until minute 75 or so rofl.

Let's go additional time!!

PS: Chile GK has been excellent today.

Why do people think Brazil will make the finals? They were so average in this game. They're NOTHING without Neymar and even he was barely in it.

SO CRUELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Chile deserved more, Brazil looks unispiring. Only Neymar really carries this team, but he can disappear too (like 2nd half or added time).

I don't see Brazil taking down bigger opponents this way.

Seems like Colombia beating Brazil in the quarterfinals is an actual possibility now, huh?

Suarez defense: He says "after the impact ... I lost my balance, making my body unstable and falling on top of my opponent. "At that moment I hit my face against the player leaving a small bruise on my cheek and a strong pain in my teeth," Suarez writes

Yeah, he did nothing wrong, surely. This stuff is why he deserves such a big ban, showing no remorse. Disgusting

Edit: WHAT A GOAL FROM RODRIGUEZ OMGGGGGGG

Best goal of the tourny so far, my god

Brazil wasn't average. Chile was just very good.

They're not nothing without Neymar (though he is their most important striker). In the 2nd half of the match Hulk was a more influential player on the Brazilian side than Neymar was. Nothing ended up coming of it... but still some very nice attacks from him.

It was a close match and Chile played admirably, but all said and done I'm glad to see the host country advance. If they can play as well as what they were in the first 30 minutes of the round of 16, they're very much capable of winning the Cup. I don't know if it was psychological blues or just bad luck, but there was some (relatively) poor play from them in the first half of the 2nd half.

I'm not sure being a millimeter away from bouncing off counts as "best goal of the tourny" Awesome to watch though.

Colombia played beautifully today, a deserved win against Uruguay. And to think they are missing Falcao...

Colombia - Brazil is going to be awesome, can't wait till friday

That's something call 'precision'

The goal is simply fantastic, the way he "holds" (can't find better word) the ball with his chest, and without touching the field immediately kicks it with such precision and power...I keep what I said, best goal of this WC so far

Yeah I guess the set up + distance was pretty awesome. Didn't waste the extra half second to let the ball drop to the ground before striking.

You have to be nice to Brazil. They don't have school during the World Cup because it counts as a national holiday. If they lost the match there would have been mass suicides.

It wasn't precision, he just whacked the ball and prayed. It was a good goal, no doubt, but like all long distance strikes and volleys overrated.

Nonetheless, Colombia won, yay! They play much more exciting football than Uruguay, nice to see them rewarded for it.
