1. Is it possible to make a mod/extension that just gets activated so it changes creatures/heroes/buildings/etc. to custom versions of the mod accordingly for next game(for example so that giant cabir would be there instead of normal one)?
2 If not; let's say I make 7-tier system once(adjusting stats and abilities), in the future will I have to change all creatures by hand(manually) for each map or can they be copied directly(possibly all of them even at once)?
3. Can multiplayer be played with mods or do the changes have to be made via map editor?
4. If via map, how does sharing maps work? Will they be possible to dl by joining lobby or do we have to manually dl them from some external site like before and move to specific folder...?
5. About setting/creating specialities;
How exactly does that work...? Is it just like h6 hero creator that has set of specialities/dynasties ready for picking? Or can I for example edit them(let's say "delver of royal purse" to give 2000 gold/turn or 2000 ore/turn?) And what about spells for example; can I change firebolt from "target"-spell to "aoe"-spell or even create new "aoe"-spell that hits only enemies in area or maybe only mechanical units? or instead of damaging it will heal certain units?
6. For editing hero skills; can I freely select skills for hero(for example several racials and how many skills there are in wheel), their level(minor, major, GM), starting skills or will that be limited to for example already existing classes...?
Additional question;
7. Since you have option for shooters to use ammo, why isn't that used in game normally? I tried asking this a lot of times in the past on SC, but never got reply. Why use the unlimited ammo from h6 when it clearly made the game less tactical?

A video would be much more enlightening in terms of how the editors really work. If possible could you make a video showing how you edit hero/unit/spell for example showing all kinds of different options there are and how it all works exploring different possibilities the editor offers. The info that has been given just raises more questions than it answers. The map editor article gave more info, but I feel like that too would have been much better if it was actually done as video as it would give better grasp as to where everything is and how it works

But I imagine making mods is not an easy thing to do. Not just in H7, right?

I can already imagine HC gets H7 mod section.

Would this mean no DLC-s? Since they expect us to create content for ourselves. Regardless if we can make new creatures, new factions, new plot, new... everything, actually.

Anyone else think the textures on the academy strategic screen that Nox did looks better than the original?

Do we know if they plan on having a steam workshop, or will this be a download install it yourself type of modding?

Unfortunately I am currently out of the office and can't verify all details at the moment but here are some answers (on my phone, sorry for potential typos)

1) Not sure I understood this question very well. You can create your alternative/new faction and integrate the cabir giant as one of its unit yes (or only do a Academyv2 replacing normal cabir with this one)

2) You can create in the editor “master” packages, those ones will behave as folders were you can put all your modifications. For example you can create an “Academy v2” package and put in here all your changes: creatures, building, stats etc. This package will be easily reused and exportable.

3) Mods are map-based, if your map contain a mod, all players will be using it without any additional download.

4) I am not sure atm, this will need to be confirmed.

5) At the moment I think there is a set of different specialties and you can edit a great number of their values, for example concerning Delver of the Royal Purse: you can change the resource, use random ones by rank & change the amount. Concerning spells, you can change/duplicated them and modify again a lot of stuff… including but not limited to: target type (aoe/single + allies/enemies), effects (direct, buff), visual effects, magic school etc. So basically, you could create as many spells with various affects you would like.

6) You can override the skills the way you like for each hero you will create (and include all faction skills if you want) but also create your own classes.

7) Must admit, I dunno

This article only was a first introduction but we will definitively provide guide and probably video ones to explain and show the actual flow To be honest... there are way to many things to be able to cover it all at the moment.

I'm most interested in the Hero tool, allowing you to create your own custom hero with a unique portrait. I hope I'll get the hang of it eventually .

Since you can edit magic schools, create and reorganise spells and skill distribution (+ abilities), not really ...   If you want to put all the spells in 4 Magic schools of your convenience in your package with adapted heroes it should do the job.
