It is. While it is real armor, the second set was the personal parade gear of Henry II, King of France. How is such a set relevant when discussing combat gear meant for regular troops?

In a Fantasy setting it is, it makes sense to have decorated armors and the like. I can understand that. But IMO, the issue here is that Ubi excessively over decorate 98% of the creatures, heroes, etc. Toning it down a bit would make it look much better.

Ok.. your point is.. Detailed armor should not be on common troops, since it does not replicate real world settings. As well as walking fungus spirits, half snake humanoids, animated lumps of stone and steal and man sitting on a flying carpet.
A skilled person with a lot of free time can make a detailed armor in his free time, if you have the needed things, and since this is fantasy, how do you know how such things are expensive there.
The problem with all your arguments is, that you look at our world and apply the standards of its culture and economy, without accepting that off world settings do not have to follow these guidelines.. Especially high fantasy ones.

You know. the fun part is. That compared to H6 these are tuned down a lot :-D

I don't know what to say actually. I was just pointing out functionality of armors, none of what you are saying atm makes sense. You went out to correct me for things I never said, you are also being generally rude and offensive right now which I can't understand why since I just pointed out what I personally prefered along with some actual facts about real life armor. So yeah, I love the fantasy in the game and the pixies, Djinns and Hydras, but I also like when things make sense since there is absolutly no advantages with boob armor. And YES I want to apply realistic characteristics because I don't think it should be so over the top that it is. So yeah, I get your point but I don't agree on it. So if you can't stand not being rude then don't comment on it.

Considering overdecorated armor of Shades and Trackers.
Do not forget that the upgrades of core are, in effect, "elite from the core" lore-wise. For example, Legionnaires are a small, elite power from Sentinel ranks, Skeleton Hoplites are like "Bone Knights", Shades are elite assassins. I don't think that there're hordes of Shades. Btw, do you think that "shade" is a somewhat pompous name?
From technical point of view, though, Lizard is right.
Galaad, calm down, it's perfectly fine that some people don't like somebody's work. Everyone can have an opinion.

Well, everyone can look things from different angles. You say it is a fantasy franchise to justify this decorative armor and I totally respect that. But looking from my perspective, I don't think it is wise to have decorative armor for ordinary troops, considering some things are shaped by lore. Besides, fantasy or not, some laws still have to apply. If not, we may have heavy-armored knights sneaking about in the Dungeon.
I guess it is true some things have to be accepted; but are there any logical points in what we see here?

And a hand on heart. If my tune now offends you, I'm deeply sorry. I just do not care about people here and having an obvious light and funny tone is the only way I can post here anymore. So once again. If I had insulted you in any way, accept my apology, but at the same time, people have been posting worse things here and got quality points for this. I just hope I'll make some wise people smile and some over affected angry. You know, last time I checked this wasn't celestial heavens.. but it looks more and more like that place from game to game.

I can bet that same people would object because units are not interesting at all.

Dark-Whisperer, did you play Witcher? If no, I strongly recommend you to look at players' reactions on the design of the game.
Though I can't say that the guys complaining now won't complain if creatures will look "plain", but Witcher fans will surely not complain.

Anything you publish anywhere, regardless if you profit from it or not, is free to be judged and criticized. Your posts, your work, your life. You show people something you made, and in this way you influenced them, and they are free to express what this influence was. You yourself have used this right many times.
I never said anything in tha line that Lizz's work is bad, I myself would not be able to do it right now, or that he should be ashamed or stop doing it. THAT would be rude.
I just said I don't like it, and for me it lacks a souls. I have judged it as a piece of art. And art is free. Don't you think?

y'all know that i don't give 2 damns about playing h7. As you know that h7 has high hardware requirements. I was proposing an easy way to increase performance via modding. 2k polys from every creature, so 2*14=28K plus 2 heroes that means 32k less polys from a full bf. Counting warmachines that's 32+5*2(there can be only one cata) 42k That's like not having to render 3-4 units for full bf, all at the cost of some useless decorations you think make units fancier. It may or may not do a difference, but if it works we also could cut polys from other models like map objs. And maybe some people won't need new pcs to play it. But no, y'all don't ever read and then decidr to argue like rabid dogs cuz reasons. Good job guys, you sure make this community better
