if i'm an antagonist it's because you guys have brought it upon yourselves with needlessly stupid negativity, much of which is based upon straight up ignorance

sorry i'm not joining in on the circlejerk

Sometimes, the budget is so cheap and low, that the corporation is to blame, not the team. Not to mention the legal aspect of it ; the boss is always at fault, no matter what. It's called taking responsability.

In my eyes both are at fault in case like this. If the big company (Ubi in this case) gives too little money to make proper game the little company (Limbic) should just turn down the contract. Otherwise the little company is at fault just as much when they take the contract knowing they can't really deliver good game.

Why support the game? If we all stop buying HoMM products, they'll sell the franchise to another software company, and they'll do a better job than Ubisuck.

and who is going to want it lol?

On the other hand what's the point in continuing the series if it means getting more games like mmh6/7? I mean if they can't make games as good as before what's the real reason to play them? Only thing these games seem to have over old ones is graphics, in terms of game-play and replayability they are far inferior(and IMO these should be the main focus rather than graphics...)

But i like H6, black screens non-whitstanding. And i'll probably like H7. As i said before you need to get out of your heads the bs thinking that online represent a sizeable part of the Heroes population. We arent even a plausible population sample

Why would they turn down the contract? It's still a job. Ubi asks them for a botched job, and they're the one to assume responsability once it's done. There's no real standard in the gaming industry after all. A game is a game. As long as whatever is written on the label is also in game, that's the only thing they have to deliver.

Usually, for a good work, we need passionate people, and those aren't hired as subcontractors, they work on their own work. Almost 100 % of Ubisoft's games are made by subcontractors, so don't expect great and artistic games from them.

@Kayna by same logic why should Ubi pay well..? It's not Ubi fault that wages have gone up or people have high expectations. I say blame the governments, Coalitions, EU, People, high living standards, etc!

Ultimately it comes down to Ubi and Limbic really. Why wouldn't Limbic take contract? Well they claim to be fans of the series for one, but ultimately they should realize if they make mediocre game as result of the contract fans(which includes themselves) are the ones to be disappointed. Also making bad/mediocre games won't help their reputation, especially if they take those contracts knowing the results. It simply makes them look like money grabbing firm so people will know in the future to avoid their games resulting in lower profits long-term. I also imagine they don't make that much money from the contract or again they will seem like money grabbing firm based on so much H6 recycling instead of making the game actually good. That leads to question why take the contract in the first place unless the company is in bad shape. And even if they are, what does that change for fan really? They are the ones that end up with the mediocre game while if Devs had passed on the contract there is always the chance rights to series had been sold elsewhere and/or they could've found better studio who better understands the series and delivered better game for possibly even less money/profit.

Why take the contract? For the pay. Nothing more, nothing less. And it's a very good reason. I worked in demolition for a few years, and I believe you would know the answer to your own question if you worked in smaller companies rather than big ones where you're paid by the hour and in a union.

Let me explain.

Rich people have the power. Plain and simple. Rich people often do not even fully understand the projects they oversee ( as is Ubisoft's case). Rich people tries to make as much money as possible, but without knowing fully what it is they oversee, they randomly draw a line. They tell themselves "I am willing to pay a maximum of X money for this project". Now, the thing is, since the amount is chosen almost randomly, they may be overpaying ( rarely if they did just a little research and price comparison ), offering a right amount or too low an amount ( usually by doing a price comparison, then deducting an amount of money ).

When the amount they offer is too low, then the hired worker will understand it. He will also understand that the rich employer doesn't understand the project as well as him. And the worker will have a choice : Try to explain the clueless rich guy that the job is worth more $, which can result in the rich guy looking elsewhere or take the job and butch it because otherwise, someone else will get the job.

And that's why workers take jobs from clueless rich guys for less amount of $ and butch it. Better he get the job than someone else. Now you understand why I consider it to be Ubisoft's fault. Ubisoft is five clueless rich brothers taking snowty decisions.

Ivan's Figurine.

Well, I am not the one to pre-order any game to pay dozen more euros to get some fancy stuff. But that seemed like a charming article, as well as the part about someone from NWC era to get the job.

Ah, if only the current MM team has the experience as the original team, things would've been different.

No, actually I still don't understand it. You explained why Limbic as company or the little guy should take it, but not why I shouldn't blame them all the same as end consumer. As I said Ubi might've found somebody cheaper and still more qualified to do the game had the little guy refused. But instead Little guy took the job knowing it would result in crappy product thus I'm the one who suffers for it as the end consumer. Is it Ubis fault? Yes! Is it Limbic fault? Absolutely! They are both accountable for their actions. It's not just one without the other who is at fault.

Odd. I have never heard a single comment on that site that anybody wants a helmet. I don't know if it is on Ubi forums or MM forums, or even the VIP pass that claimed such a thing.

This may be a minor thing, but it makes me uncomfortable to know they are making such claims without any generic proof.

You assume that another little guy can do better than Limbic. If the amount of money offered is too low, the job will be butched no matter what. If Limbic says no, they will find someone else that will do an equally snowty job. But if Ubisoft stops being so greedy and pour a little more money, then we can see a different, better result.

Well they found Blackhole who worked for a year without pay and ended up going bankrupt making h6 so no reason for me to not think so. And depending how much Limbic cut corners just to make more profit + ignored fans/research it kinda leaves them in bad position in my eyes. And again if we say Ubi made all decisions then they made a bad contract from my perspective as customer. It all rounds up to both Ubi and Limbic both being responsible in my books.
