I'm pleasantly surprised they made the knight female and the priest male. Instead of going the cliche female = magician and male = warrior route, they brought a breeze of fresh air into the haven faction. Paired with the wolves replacing the Griffins, and of course the glories being abandoned, I can actually see Haven for the first time not being my number 1 hate faction in Heroes.

And what does that have to do with using weapons other than swords? They could have had axes, warhammers (historical ones, not what you see in RPGs), flails etc.

I haven't seen the artworks yet, but reading what people say here, I'm amazed that people are actually enthusiastic about this. So what I hear is that they have esentially taken the H5 priest/inquisitor and separated him into two humanoid units - one who has the healing/support role, and another who has ... what left, ranged attack?
For me, that's a huge step back. Haven was already troubled by a lot of humanoid units - sure, it was excusable for this faction, but it's certainly not something that should be increased even further, and splitting the priest into two units that each seems to be rather generic AND adding the swordsmaster is not just one but TWO steps in the wrong direction!

Good point about the number of humans in Haven. That's something that always bothered me too and I somehow completly forgot about it when I made my earlier post. You are absolutely right.
2 humans in the cores, 3 in the elites, 1 in the champions makes 6 of 8 units a human. Disgusting, to say the least.
I say, remove the Justicar and the Swordbearer and exchange both of them with something non-human.

we don't want humans yet we hated the glories! I liked them a lot!
but so many humans in haven don't bother me that much, but indeed they make haven a little boring.
as for the lady knight, in the image it seems like her period stretched out from her armor

I don't really care if they're humans or if they have a vagina or not as long as they play differently on the battlefield. That's all that matters to me.

Yeah, I agree about that, but the point I tried to make was that H5 priest was an interesting creature because you needed to decide either to use it for support or to use it as a ranged unit, which was a difficult choice, because both abilities are quite powerful. If we instead get two units where one is support and the other is ranged (or so I assume?), that is boring because it takes away the interesting tactical element of how to best use your troops, which makes the game much less interesting.

Since Chaplain has huge staff, and Justicar has shield and sword, I guess that Justicar will have some kind of Aura that gives bonuses to the adjacent friendly units(attack/defense/retaliation/whatever) and be melee, while Chaplain will be ranged unit with healing.
So I don't think that they will remove what you are describing, Chaplains are just renamed Inquisitors/Priests from H5. Justicar is more of an Swordsman from H5 upgraded into something else different.

I expect the Guardian to be an aura support unit, or have some defensive synergy with the rest Haven units. Because if she's just out there for more damage then it's quite disappointing.

I have no idea what to expect from the Guardian, but the following is true:
1) I appreciate that we'll have a "sword" troop that isn't at Champion level. Don't get me wrong, I like the other troops... but I also want a non-Champion troop that uses a sword.
2) Design looks good. Sometimes you just have to sit back and appreciate when female warriors have actual, functional armour on.

I like the new units. Reminds me of H3, just without the griffin. And I LOVE that they got rid of all that light-thing in H6. Sun Rider must be the dumbest thing I've ever witnessed.

Dat glorious Cuirassier plumage... *O*
Aaaaand Guardian/Justicar tells us nothing about their abilities. Oh well, still like the aesthetic.
I have to giggle at the notion that the most Inquisition-looking totally-Inquisition guys are called... Abbots. The mental dissonance between the visual aesthetic and my "good shepard" understanding of term "abbot" is downright hilarious in my mind.
