well its maybe the best line up for haven i ever seen. really great job. armors, weapons, wolf things on shields & cloaks.. really, reaaaly good.
i always thought that abbot type clerics are much better for their role. sisters in h6, were just too damn innocent and looking unrelated to war. and in h5 they were just too christian and.. russian? judging by the look of his face, i could easyly tell he was north-eastern european(dont get me wrong russian friends, its just.. i dont want to see real world nationalities or religions in fantasy worlds.) but those abbots, i can easyly imagine them serving haven army and also burning "heretics" with elraths light.
justicar, well, one word: amazing. proper armor & fierce looks in a female elite warrior? and with a iconic weapon, sword? really good! i wonder what can she do? her abilities and such... maybe shes like a paladin in a way? i mean smiting enemies with some divine assistance would be cool.
and who can deny the cavaliers? badass heavy armor-a very long spear- a charismatic helm. he has all he needs. another prefect unit.
great job limbic. i hope you wont drown them in too much light like you did in h6
one wish: please make angels also wearing helms.

Wait a minute.
I get Cavalier, those are ambiguous enough that I don't mind. But, aren't Cuirassiers the guys with, what I thought was, a bit more minimal armor, as in usually just a cuirass? Like, just the breastplate? It seems weird that the super-armored units are called that. Just call them Dragoons if they are going to wear that much armor.

I also thought the name Cuirassiers somehow sounded weird. What were they thinking when they chose this name? I could come up with a dozen names on the spot and Cuirassiers wouldn't even cross my mind...
But hey, not being Sun Riders is already an improvement.

Even if they were the oft used "Crusader" (without the "Sun" in front) then it would be fine. But Cuiriassier is not only a weird tongue twister, to me, they had multiple other choices.

Well, here's an example of Cuirassier armour from the 16th century.

Yay, it's fixed!
But, I stand corrected, they are fully armored. Still, why choose the name? This predicament is getting curiouser and cuiriassier...

Well it couldn't be Knight or Paladin, as these are used as Hero classes in recent games.
It couldn't be Horseman or Rider as these feel super generic and fans would have complained endlessly
It couldn't be Champion either, as it's a creature category now.
Dragoons were light cavalry, and as their name derivates from their use of firearms, so it didn't fit. Plus it's not that amazing in a world where there are actual Dragons
So we looked at names from actual heavy cavalry units, and felt that the duo Cavalier/Cuirassier had a nice ring to it.

lol
Ok so we have now in Haven:
- Wolf
- Human with pike
- Human with crossbow
- Human with sword
- Human with staff and spellbook
- Human with lance on horse
- Human with bigger sword
- Angel with sword
Man, this is going to be a great faction ...

I get Knight and Paladin, but is Crusader a thing?
I guess since they are both french in origin, it should be fine. But, isn't the Wolf duchy germanic?

Why, you don't seem to have any problem with other units having English names

That's why I had the there.
And it wasn't so much that I outright dislike Cuiriassier. I just haven't heard much use of it, so I wondered if there was any other thought put into the name, or if it was just based on "it sounds cool". (Also, I thought it was lighter cavalry, but you fixed that assumption right up.)

Lancer, Charger or maybe Crusader?
Unless upgraded swordsman is now the crusader?
(guessing intensifies )

In this forum, you can't add apostrophes/quotation marks in [url] tag text, sadly. It's a known issue (I'll ask Val if he can look onto it in the near future though).
PS: I also have to ask, why not Crusaders?

someone is displeased at haven...
at first glance yes it's all humans, but i think they can pull it off. besides they must have way different abiltiies and passives. since it's the wolf duchy i would like to see a mace or flail just for a change. overall i am pretty pleased to tell the truth but that's because haven is not my favorite to begin with.
