oh really? come on? remember what i posted the other day here?
everyone is  going "sylvan is ruined now" which can be seen as "sore losing", and in a way disrespects the fury voters. you think i want to ruin my favorite faction?
also remember when the majority here ganged up upon fury with your accusations of cheating and and your arguments?
Well i do and stevie and fury voters deserve to celebrate. if you were gonna bring our choices down repeatedly you are going to withstand this, it will be a piece of cake and it will last only an hour or so.  don't be a sore loser. deep breath and in an hour this will be forgotten.

You know what I'd do if I were a Strength voter right now?

I'd shut my mouth and bow to my Fury masters.

Never say never, but it would be a bit strange to ask players to vote if the creatures end up in the game anyway, don't you think? As said before, it's not as if the creatures were already done. But that's not the case - no concept arts yet, no 3D models, no animations.

Yes, but I think it is also strange to say "Ooh, look, here is a cool unit! You can have it! No, wait, not anymore, and now you never will. Toodles!"

But, yeah. It's not like they are "in" the faction. They will certainly be harder to obtain than a normal faction unit in that case, as their dwelling must be found, and they don't have that faction diplomacy bonus.

And? If all sides cheated, it's not like any side as the moral high ground. There's no moral victory to be had here.

Marzhin,

Well now that the vote is over, I'll get back to my question:
Are there ANY chances that we will see the "rejected" Sylvan creatures as neutral units? Especially the Phoenix - I'd love to see a possibility to get the Balance line-up anyway, like by a mod.
Or are they lost for good, at least until Heroes 8?

let's just rip the Phoenix from Heroes 6, retexture it, and mod it in
couldn't hurt right, lol

This is quite true personally I voted fury but I find the results of strength quite shocking to say to least. I can understand why chris is celebrating because everyone here even on the website were accusing fury that they gained like 10-20% because of cheating. That no real fan would vote fury etc.

Of course I am happy myself I just see this poll as a lesson overall in my opinion. I won't open that can of worms here because I don't want to derail the discussion.

No, I agree that there were cheaters on all three sides, that was something pretty obvious at the end of the voting.

But saying that Fury didn't cheat is outright lying.

OK, thank you for the answer.
So probably no Phoenixes even as neutrals... bleh...

As for your rhetorical question, I'll actually answer. It depends. If you got a result of 34/33/33 then that would be a clear sign that yes, indeed all the creatures should be in the game or you should make another, "compromise" line-up and ignore the voting results. While this is not the case here, then still 55% of players wanted something else than Fury. So to keep those 55% players happy, maybe a sort of "runner-up prize" could be introduced?

Okay, I think we need to tone down the gloating.

Yes, I am happy that Fury won. Yes, I am amused the cheating was skewed to one of the other sides. Yes, I think people need to get over it and not declare "I'm not going to play this faction" or whatever.

No, I do not think people should outright mock the preferred vote of others.

You know what? I voted Strength. Strength was my very first pick. When the tides shifted, I went with Balance. I did oppose Fury at first, but more because it was just the same guys shouting random slogans and not actually trying to defend the Fury lineup. When I finally saw someone who did, my viewpoint shifted and I sided with Fury... only to shift back to Strength in the final hours because, while I still supported Fury, Strength was my original vote and they looked like they needed the support; my one vote wasn't going to shift the balance.

I don't know what that looks like to other people - indecision, pragmatism, waffling, turncoat, whatever - and really I don't care. What I do care about is that, now that the vote is over, the animosity should end as well. It's no longer "us vs them". It's just "us"... Sylvan.

wow guys, just saw the results. I'm very surprised with the % of Strength, I guess most of them changed in the end.

Anyway, gratz Fury! =D
and +1 to the suggestion to hide the partial %.

@Marzhin
Phoenix could fit in the group of summoning spells, I think.

Well, mates, as far as I'm concerned, cheating or no cheating, celebrating for some or "mourning" for some others, I have to say this:
with the Fury lineup for them, I will gladly crash the damn flower-sniffers playing as all the other factionsmmhahahahahahahahaha

Phoenixes have been in last two games neutrals, in MMMH:6 the have become "elementals" of Prime magic and I guess Limbic won't come with any better concept for Prime elemental, so they will most probably stay. Unicorns will become mounts of Sylvan heroes. The other creatures won't probably be seen in the game because they are too elvish to become neutrals.

First of all, let me make it clear that I don't want any accusations against individuals for cheating. I haven't seen it yet, but just to take things in advance, don't go down that road, it'll be pointless.

When that's said, I don't see any problem in discussing the voting, cheating and general issues concerning this vote. Personally, I'm confident that all sides have cheated, and I'm not myself convinced that the filtered votes reflect the accurate vote distribution, but I trust they did what they could in a bad situation, and on the bottomline, the fact that final vote distribution doesn't change much from unfiltered votes may also cause the least drama.

I myself find the sudden surge that Fury did from being way behind to take the lead over just one night to be extremely suspicious, but I guess if it was done through faking, the person(s) responsible just was better at it ... and then again, maybe a lot of people just *did* change their vote for Fury at this point.
