Seeing as how that text said absolutely nothing I wanted to know about today to begin with.....
But it is true that it's Elrathian propaganda.
That might be the case, but Eruina's kingdom got destroy by the time MMX and/or SoD happened (I recall MMX being earlier, but I'm not sure). And after her kingdom met its fate, she did not want to join any other clan, so that doesn't tell us anything about the number of DElf clans.

She will tell you her story about Inshanost, when you meet her. Basically her clan doesn't exist anymore.
So far we know, that Dark Elves have 3 major clans: Soulscar, Shadowbrand and Nightshard.
There are others, lesser clans, but they are not so important. However we don't know if there are more clans ruled by Tuidhana children. We know only about these three ruled by them and all clanlords are males.

Yes, but that is the offshoot clan. Eruina and her father were the first clan that stopped wandering and settled down. Then they had their disagreement and Eruina and her followers left.
Though I now seem to recall that this came up in a Q&A before SoD, which said that Eruina was the leader of one of the Minor clans.

Well, that's what it says in her HVI Bio. I'd have to go all the way back to that dungeon to find out what happens to Eruina.
So unless that gives info on what Clan she was originally in, I don't think I want to do now.

Eruina's offshoot clan may as well be the 4th, not the fifth. We don't know was Salvin a head of his own clan or one of the existing clans (Sorshan of the Shadowbrands, for example, so far has no ties to Tuidhana, so his predecessor might as well be Salvin himself).
But I agree with you on that there's definitely more than 3. Raelag in H5 said something like "Souslcars are the strongest, if I defeat them, other smaller clans will obey". Maybe three royal clans started to divide slowly after H6.

So that all the better factions will have male heroes.
Then, a male druid, male hunter and male blade dancer lead by an amazing male elf hero. = win
Then, hopefully, those horrid Justicars are thrown under the bus and they replace it with Griffins or a more realistic model: male soldier carrying a mace (we have too many swords already). = da bomb!

I had to force myself to read the last pages because my blood was starting to boil.
It's sad to see how people here still believe that there will be a representative from Dungeon/Inferno at the table.
It's sad to see that people still believe in an Eclipse story after it was mentioned by Marzhin and repeatedly quoted that there won't be one.
It's sad to see that people that understood there won't be an Eclipse story went to the other extreme, claiming that there will be an entire campaign of Demons vs Demons in Sheogh, like the devs are so retarded that they'd actually do that.

Now now stevie just wait until the line up vote and everyone in the forum screams in horror because people on the website want a faction "made up of their people" and only "two random beasts". Plus wanting the shadow matriarch and blood furies back.

Her HVI Bio states that Eruina and Salvin were the first to settle their clan into a kingdom, Salvin and Eruina had a disagreement and Eruina took her followers to settle a new Kingdom on an island somewhere, which got destroyed by Men and Elves.
In MMX, she says she and her father settled a kingdom, which got destroyed entirely when her father was corrupted by Erebos. There was no disagreement which caused Eruina to abandon the (first) kingdom in the first place.
Do you see the conflict now?

I always said that there would be an explanation for all that. But that didn't stop certain people from believing the Eclipse or Demons vs Demons scenarios, even if the former has been denied and the latter is insane.

No, because you need to read Eruina's bio again. Salvin was the first to undestand the need to stop wandering the caves and establish a real kingdom, not the one who created this kingdom. Eruina and Salvin had a disagreement about the nature of said kingdom and for that parted ways.
Aaand:

This clearly implies that Eruina and Salvin was not together. She simply didn't tell about her fight with him.

It could happen if they presented the right individual(there are a few existing candicates that could work) but the spymaster works best. There is only so much faction symmetry you can get in the campaigns before it gets tiresome. Too many coincidences to swallow.
