And the fact that fortess only appeared once isn't an issue, if the swamp fortres was put up to a vote I'm sure they would win (or put up a good fight), but when the dwarves were introduced in h5, they had a bad line up. Nothing but dwarves and magmazilla. How is one bad line up supposed to compete with several great line ups that slyvan has offered in h1-h4

It seems that I have already forgot about this hatred campaign. Mostly because I am very nostalgic towards these two factions. Sylvan is the first faction with which I have ever played in Heroes game (I still remember when I thought their huge tree town is a decoration) and Fortress is my favourite faction in Heroes V (alongside Academy), so it would be best to have them both but since at least one of them is present I am satissfied.

I don't dislike fortress. But I can't immagine a Heroes game witouth sylvan. And this is what I think, it came down to. I personaly realy missed sylvan in H6 (and I belive I wasn't alone), so naturaly my vote will go to sylvan. Fortres had indeed litle chance.
Yes H6 had sanctuary, but for me this was like H3 fortres replacement and not sylvan replacement (btw don't hit me, but I'll be blunt and say H3 fortres was my most disliked faction in H3, not counting conflux, because conflux just sucks monkey balls. It was due to hydra, it sucked compared to even bone dragons for it's slow movement, but also the fact that they didn't have Magic guild tier 4 and 5. It was good idea poorly implemented).
I belive those who realy hated elves, could vote with inferno vs. dungeon for inferno. Then we would have only one elf faction. Indeed we would have faction who officialy calles elfs "flower-snifers" as replacement for said elfs. That would be slap in the face for elfs. I voted for dungeon because black dragon. Black dragon vs titan is classic duel of two most powerfull beings in series, and this is what I like.

Nah. People voted against inferno rather than for dungeon because playing against inferno is tricky, as is playing with them, and they prefer the stability of their opponent as well as their turtle corner shooting race.
People voted sylvan because, well, in that case it was a given. Dwarves faction in H5 was snowty visually. The dwarf lore is so crap compared to the elves that even conservatives choose the mobile, weak and fun faction over the tough nut.

I voted Dungeon because there was more of a fair chance to me for getting some creatures including mythological ones I like than in Inferno. And I wasn't disappointed: Minotaur, Hydra, Blackies, Medusa, even good old Troglodyte is in. It can turn out good.

What you hated is what made me love it
Little magic to worry about and the slow defensive creatures combined with some fragile fliers that offered a totally different strategy than all the rest. It's what made it stand out, and hopefully stronghold will 'stand out' more when compared to the other factions.

Yea, I think people tend to dig to deep for reasons for vote. I knew for which faction I will vote in a half of second.
Dungeon is my favorite and Sylvan is my second favorite race. I don't think there is any deeper analysis, just what you would like to play more.

Isn't your strive for creature coherence exactly that. a dwell on the past. It's not like skeletal liches or Aristocratic vampires are the only option.

ooh.. nice snappy comeback, but sadly a bit too old. You know being from the east, I would expect your idea of a vampire being something more "traditional", based on Gypsies and such. Could you atleast tell me which Elf is traditional for you? The huntsman in green, the blond lotr ripoff, or the one inbetween.
You know, you told me I deliberately focus on one aspect. (it were the skeletons at that time), but i did that on purpose and for a reason. You speak of "tradition", "coherence", "the true heroes feeling". How can you speak about these things when in so many cases these things were never a thing.

I am really happy with both of the voting results.
Sylvan-Fortress:
-well this is pretty much a nobrainer, Sylvan/Rampart/Sorceress.. they just have a nice history and tradition in heroes games.
-i also liked rampart in H3 so this is nice
-dwarven fortress on the other hand is just in my opinion plain boring next to sylvan... maybe against Sanctuary or some totally new faction it might have had a chance. Or maybe if it was H3 fortress, then the choice would have been difficult
Dungeon-Inferno:
-i dont think i could enjoy a heroes game without dungeon, they are my favorite
-i never play inferno, but i like to have them as opponents, because they are "bad guys"
-lots of people do like inferno so i was a bit worried of the outcome
Also Dungeon line-up looks pretty nice so far. Minotaur as elite (no H5 fiasco) and troglodytes! I hope they make them so that they are useful in the game even after the beginning :/
Also(2) is it confirmed that we can chose from a variety of starting heroes with different skills (like in H3 and H5 for example) or is it like in H6 where you only had like two choices with a skill that you could not chance? And i mean this in the hotseat game mode. I never play campaigns or anything... just hotseat straight out of the box  Or is this something that should be asked during the Paris event?

Ashan prevented the coherency to exist with previous worlds. It could still be corrected though. With Ubi's very own specialty: retcon.
