Yep, it does seem like it. They are just familiar mass version spells with fancy names to distract people... I was kinda hoping for some actual battle tactic commands... something that spells are not already doing... the artillery support is kinda like that, but rest just... meh...

Thes sound extremely boring and very one-sided as well. 80% attacking skills would only make sense for stronghold but any other faction would preferably have some defensive or mobility oriented skills.

The bad thing is that spells are probably going to be just as lame as these warcries in order to protect the precious "balance" of the game.
Atleast we'll have 7 schools of boring sh*t instead of just 4.

Well, with Attention having a defense buff, as well as it's sole ability upgrade it adds upgrades to retaliation, so there are sort of 2 defensive cries, Attention and Hold Position. But, still, yeah, this gives little hope.

So on top of having a stronger army because of better stats, might heroes now have their own set of spells to make their armies even stronger and move across the battlefield faster...

Might heroes can't master air magic for instance, so mass haste won't be at their disposal. But they can get a warcry that basically does what mass haste would do...Same could be said with spells like precision, or bloodrage, or prayer. Just watering the game down

We can only guess when/if they will realize that we do not want to play starcraft of might and magic and that this kind of bland gameplay simply doesn't fit a chesslike TBS game.

I like warcries- imo they are really good and if all skills in the game will be similar, then skillwheel will not be bad- even quite good

THey are varied enough, give many bonuses, I see progression with each level- master skill is really nice and sounds powerful, also expert are decent and worth investing points.

Graphics is nice, I do not have trauma with previous Heroes :winky

I do not like 2 things:

- overuse of mysterious "X" number that does not tell me much. Is this a strict number, some kind of multiplication or what, does it change over time- and if yeas, on which factors its value depends?

- if all skills in the game look similar, game would sound like law and would be somewhat complicated (in terms of inerface and understanding of mechanics rather than challenge)

Why?
in certrain situation under certain circumstances there will be certain X effect- having in mind all skills in the game while leveling up and using them on the battlefield- it will take a while to fully adapt to it

This is not looking good. Might heroes are already quite powerful, so they are given something extra? Keep in mind that there are might heroes that specialise in magic skills, while magic heroes do not have access to Warcries. This seems really imbalanced.

Even Heroes 6 had a better system, as Warcries were available to both hero types.

My enthusiasm dropped considerably these last few days.

The "X" is just a placeholder because the values are changing all the time as we're still testing/balancing stuff. In the final game these will be actual numbers

Of course, but I've also heard of DMCA claims. Granted, Ubisoft is not Nintendo, but I wouldn't risk it with Heroes 7 on the horizon.

Hold on, you're saying they'll be stagnant numbers? Not affected by skill ranks or increased level/attack/defense values?

man, those warcries are so by-the-numbers... why are they all just unimaginative stat boosts?
Attention + Artillery Support is mildly interesting but everything else, I mean Jesus, I'll just stick to magic thanks lol

It sounds good although I hope that it will scale a bit- investing points in warcries and leveling it to higher level (from novice to expert, from expert to master and finally from master to grandmaster) will increase X value just a little

Overall warcries sound quite decent and seem to be interesting option. But they can be overpowered and as Stevie has noticed- they act a bit like mass spells (and those should not be that many and probably spreaded in various magic schools)- they sound a bit like absolute "must" for every hero (I hope that all skills would be similar- that would make game interesting!)

Edit: Ok, Stevie mentioned spell buffs, I have exaggerated mass spells

Why people are so inactive regarding the skill system? They had so much enrgy to critisize Necropolis and when it comes to the aspect, that matters the most (gameplay, at least IMO), they remain silent? I can't understand that.
