Haha, seems like I'm the only one who likes Derden xD Something really cool would be to have some Centaur heroes for Stronghold and Minotaurs for Dungeon, so that you could see the in-game models.

At least the Haunted Armor as a race is something rarely seen, I think.
It's plain that vampire lore is all made up, but it's a common motif that a person stops physically aging at the point they were made into a vampire. A child made a vampire would always remain a child, for example. There is nothing preposterous about Lyla's appearance given her advanced age; in fact it is much more "realistic" given vampire lore.

Fantastic, looks so much better without those silly green lights. I think the Spider tatoo looks good, like the theme or not, it does add character.

A child made a vampire in Ashan would continue to age until the age of "perfection" however.

I taught they reverse-age. Wouldn't that child turn into a baby vampire at some point?
- that's a legit question btw.

Omg, what do you want from Ashan? LOGIC!?
seriously though, no. vampire rules in Ashan are stupid. They would indeed age 'til they are, like 25-30 years old or something

About the "weird" vampire lore, well again games and stories often have different approaches to the question of immortality. In some versions immortality just stops your clock, in others it also restores a person to his prime or youth.
In some versions of vampire literature vampirism is meant to give also "eternal" youth, with the person becoming younger looking in short time after his turning. Ashan's version is just far slower.
The child question is actually a bad one. Can actually a child be turned into a vampire in Ashan? As much the lore has shown, the standard version of creating a vampire can end up lethal or disturbingly transformative (as in the case of Fleshbane) to a skilled and mature necromancer. So it can be doubted that a young child would even survive the process.
For the second version. Well we don't know how similar is it to the take the namtaru venom variant, also we don't know if it even has the reverse-aging trait.
On the sidenote of vampires changing or aging over time. Again, vampires gaining new powers or changing because their increased age is nothing new. This idea was included by Anne Rice and developed further by White Wolf in their games (Vampire: the masquerade and the requiem). And to be honest it can be argued that this element is present even in Dracula (i can be wrong about this).
PS If everyone tries to play the but not in vampire mythology... then well... Vampires in modern fantasy and rpg games are based on the literature and versions in other games.

Se is undead human in H6, but takes the namtaru venom later.
@Avirosh From duel of champions, essentially a very freak case where the ritual turned a person into a half-spider monstrosity. Google MMDOC and fleshbane, if you rant the pic.
@kiryu133 Creepy undead children can be sometimes awesome, but IMHO not as HoMM heroes. Although Luna felt close to a child vampire, at least in his personality when you meet her in MMX
