Sylvan theme beginning reminds me of H4, you can say what you want about H4, but it had the best soundtrack

The theme is really beautiful, the best one so far in H7, but I must agree that, at least in part, it better suits Academy. Though, like I said, only in part, cause there are some moments that actually fit a Sylvan theme (mainly from 1:38 onwards). So, it's a hybrid of sorts.
It's hard to tell if this theme is Sylvanish, mainly because most of us heard the themes from other Heroes games, with H4 one being the best imo, seconded by H5 theme (and most of you guys think the same) so we will always compare them. I too would like to hear a more Celtic or Native Indian theme, because that's my idea of a Sylvan theme, but I guess it's always nice to try sth new then more of the same.
But I think Rob tried to create sth new here, I don't know, probably like it is with most artists, at present he is influenced by some kind of music and he reflects it in his works.
It would be best to hear it in the actual game.
One thing is for certain: at least the quality of music in H7 will be very high... it's really hard to find such quality music in other fantasy strategy games...

Well, i love the sylvan theme and it also does fit to the faction, actually it reminds me a bit of the h5 theme..
The wizard one is also great but as already mentioned better suited for a snow-isch h3-like academy. The only theme that doesn't fit to it's town is heaven as it's too peacefull for h7's heaven(more of a h3 castle anyway)

Its true that wolf duchy is more brutish looking but lets not forgot that they also are more faithful than the rest of holy empire with church of light in their borders and holy city of flammschrein.
So i think heaven theme gona fit well with this heaven.

Well said. Rob & Paul definetly are bringing not what you'd expect for each faction. I'm curious to see what Necropolis and Stronghold will have

I was as surpised to hear that the songs contain Greek as you were It is not easily recognizable but it has a nice feel to it.

Hi all, I want just to say that I'm pretty sure the last faction would NOT be dungeon or INFERNO but dungeon or SANCTUARY.
They've said that the "theme" of heroes VII is a alliance between the 6 factions against
the demons who will playable (I expect) in the expansion pack. According to
[url=http://might-and-magic.ubi.com/universe/en-GB/universe-world-ashan/factions/index.aspx]this site[/url] there are 9 factions and I think the next poll would be sactuary vs. dungeon.
I hope this is the correct place to say this

Contrary to H5 and H6, Rob and Paul gave titles to every theme they composed for H7 when they delivered them, and this one was called The Elven Coronation, indicating they wrote it specifically for the Elves. While not what you'd expect we felt it actually worked pretty well. The Sylvan Elves of Ashan are not exactly the classic Celtic/Tolkienesque Elves. Personally I love it, it's my favourite H7 track so far.
You also have to remember that the Rampart theme of Heroes III was titled Cleopatra on the Nile. Funny to think it was written by Rob & Paul with Ancient Egypt in mind
I think it's great that they are pushing boundaries and trying new things. You have to keep an open mind people
