I'm hoping for Stronghold to be the 'different' faction, since all the factions presented are pretty similar already, except academy. Stronghold should have no elite shooter and have their strongest elite be a flier. Adept at melee combat and crossing the battlefield quickly.

Something like:

Core
Sahaar brute - simple melee unit.
Skrimisher - ranged
Nomad(goblin/orc rider)or centaur - strongest core, fast melee unit

Elite
Basilisk rider - melee unit, not as fast as nomad but stronger
Ogre magi or crusher -  walker with a buff for allies.
Wyvern/Roc - Top elite, fast powerful flier

Champion
Behemoth - Very strong melee unit
Cyclops - Ranged, throws rocks.

Actually the H7 Stronghold has almost nothing in common with its H6 counterpart. It is also totally awesome.
But I won't say anything more about that particular topic

I actually would be quite happy with your line-up.

One orc, a strong melee unit.
A ranged gnoll (you didn't mention if you intended this to be some kind of gnoll, but that's how I took it and that's how I would want it).
One harpy or one melee centaur (whichever would be fine by me - centaur probably makes more sense).

A beastly basilisk.
An ogre (I want ogres and trolls to make a return, instead of just having more orcs).
A wyvern.

A cyclops.
The classic behemoth finally making its epic return.

Assuming I'd be into the designs, this line-up would make me very happy and excited!

Marzhin gives me high hopes for Stronghold. I wonder if he is a Behemoth fan.

@Jackson

Glad you like it  I really hope behemoth makes it in. And the skirmisher should definitely be a gnoll.

I think Kimmundi mentioned somewhere here that Marzhin is big fan of Behemots. Also he mentioned that Behemots do exist in Ashan.

If i remember correctly.

I recall Marzhin was asked something along those lines when he got interviewed for PotSS. He mentioned that he had plans for using Behemoths in the future. This seems as good an opportunity as ever.

Well that is good news. I just hope they would make it the stronghold champion and not a neutral.

My opinion...

IMHO I also think Stronghold should play differently than the rest, being focused on pure, brutish melee. As people said already, I'd do them kinda like this:

Core:

Brute
Gnoll Skirmisher
Centaur (camel-based!)

Elite:

Hag
Oliphaunt Rider
Wyvern

Champion

Cyclops
Behemoth

I'd put Goblins as a Stronghold affiliated neutral, being quite weak but produced automatically by your hero (through Gather the Horde ability).

yeahhhh yeahhhh!

Behemoths are in the game, so I forgive Ubisoft + Marzhan (or whatever his name is) for all their sins! Because Behemoths are in!

Behemoth = bland, boring unit without any thought given to it.

I always love behemoth and leviathan people, because I know such people never like the more rare creatures from mythology, they only like the overused ones, even the bland ones that can have many forms.

The Jean Grey and Prof X from the mythology world.

The bigger the better they always say in America, that's why they all love Kaiju, Bheemoths, Roc and Leviathans...

I would love a game without Behemoths.

Yes but I mean a non-ashan game that is created by another compagny in the far future.

Actually, HOMM7 doesn't exist for me.

Haven't really seen a behemoth in many other games...And the ones that I can think of looked terrible ( like age of mythology), so I do not see what you mean by them being overused.

Do you prefer a rare mythology creature with one eye that uniquely shoots laser beams from its eye?
Because for me....
Cyclops = overused, boring, childish, with a ridiculous attack.

Cyclops are overused yes, but at least they have a typical form, behemoths is just a name for a big land animal or beast.

BORING.

And they are overused in Pathfinder, D&D and mostly on youtube-top-10/20/50/100 of favorite mythology creatures.

Kaiju = also a Behemoth in my opinion as they are just giant animals.

And that horrible, boring game where you hunt giant monsters, that are also all behemoths.

I didn't mean Cyclops are rare myth creature BTW, cyclops isn't a rare myth creatures, baykok, cherufe and zhenniao are rare myth creatures.

Maybe the name behemoth is common but the Heroes behemoth is unique (at least to me) and it hasn't been in a heroes game since 4.

I didn't mean Cyclops are rare myth creature BTW, cyclops isn't a rare myth creatures, baykok, cherufe and zhenniao are rare myth creatures.

Those few you named do look cool, but none of them fit stronghold. What would you rather have as a champion then if not a behemoth or a cyclops?

Edit: Not sure how to quote the same person twice while responding in between quotes. It did not come out the way i thought it would
