As for defense - depends what else you have but phoenix trick stops working once attackers figure out there is cleanse, then unless phoenix is 4 dots , is quite harmless if attacker bothers to take siren or pixie

Not really, phoenix burn does not increase in damage with combo, unlike most other legendaries. It's still great, but many other legendaries have higher damage potential with combos.

I am starting to think that if you never put money in this game you don't get legendaries...

You get a Legendary Idol by completing all quests on King, these are doable without legendaries, but it takes time for you need good party setups for each element. You can still cheat your way out with the diamond revives if you're desperate. Much harder there is the Battle Tower granting you the Mythic Idol if you beat 51 which can grant either an Epic or a Legendary.
The thing with the diamond summons is it's completely luck dependent, you can be F2P and get one or even more in your first summon (as it happened to me) or you can lump in real money (which only gives you the chance earlier in the end) and not even get it after ten throws.

Same luck to me, first 800 crystals sumon and got legendary medusa ..too bad is only 3 dots

Its very luck dependent. My friend got fire witch with 4 dots at lvl 19 on fire event, and lich approximately at lvl 70 I got my first at lvl 90 and now at lvl 160 i have 6 legendaries (4 drops + 1 dungeon challenge + 1 guaranteed grand wish one)
Well technically you can get guaranteed drops with real money but i usualy see it as something crazy when i see someone with lvl 8 vip reward on dungeon. Thats like 350-400 $ if i am not mistaken.

True but combo often is reliant on sequence which not always can be afforded when boss stuns or deletes one of your creatures on first turns. I myself use x16 combo for titan in one of my setups and it just slices enemy in tiny pieces, but very often it can be disrupted, specially on bosses that can cripple team. Phoenix on other hand is just brutal, besides you can always use phoenix for initiating sequence which is no need for combo anyway.
I am still waiting for my phoenix as it would really compliment my sludge hulk with all the dots.

The thing is if you are lucky enough and get a legendary at level 15/20 you'll quest easier and you'll be defending your dungeon easier too. You get a big advantage from that luck. Today I mostly play the quests on king and win them, but it took me time and efforts and management and and and so that I finally could achieve them. And I would prefer gave it easier sometimes as defeating great wish on king is enormous compared to only one boss when you see that some already have +15 ones.

True but it's not that visible until you level creatures to 60 +
Sure boss creatures have better abilities and bit higher states, but 4 star rare vs 4 star legendary is only bit better , and you wont really feel that difference until you reach level caps. For example lvl 60 kitsune was much more useful than lvl 60 fire magess. One big difference however is that bosses are never below 3 mana balls, while rares with more than 2 are extremely rare.

Not another summon event! I love Sphinxes, they are among my favorite creatures. Please be some water creature I don't care for! NOT A FIRE CREATURE OR A DARK ONE!
I need that sphinx, but I want to collect diamonds.
I'm really getting angry over the light elemental now, just caught my first 2 dot one (bleh) but I did the quest like 17 times by now, spend a lot of diamonds on refills, but nothing happens...
You kinda need a light elemental for a good defense, so it is kinda unfair that it became so rare so suddenly...

Yea, it really segregates people in those who were lucky to fully awaken and cycle through trash to get 3/4 dot ones, and those who didnt. I was lucky to get 4 dot siren, but other will have frustrating experience to get one, not to mention awaken it. Well now we know why they added quick quest option  , they should remove that 2 per day limit though to get full advantage of this innovation.
Sure those epics can be replaced by bosses eventually , but still they are required for good defense, which was already very frustrating and grindy aspect of game, now they multiplied grind by x3-5

I didn't grind Event quests much since previous update as I'm mostly doing the totems quests, which takes freaking time as well, I recycled any creature I didn't need any longer that had totems to speed this up a bit but I think it will take a month or so for what I need.
If the drop rate of the Event Quests became that bad I agree with you guys saying it is unfair to new players. 
Plus, the grinding ratio was already high enough before IMHO

But that is one big lie, how can I suddenly only have 5 owls and 6 dire wolves and 1 light elemental while previously I had like a fully awakened Light elemental, like 30 owls and uncountable dire wolves...
Everything drops less. Really a bummer, it was good as it was.

While I agree to some point, Legendary creatures cost more gems and resources to level up. Even from 1 to 60 costs more then a rare from 1 to 60. As you start playing resources are rare and leveling your creatures goes slowly with every newly obtained gem. I got my first legendary in my second multisummon but it took quite some time to level it up and fit it in my team. and As the 'grand wish quests' are the only ones to provide ankhs for evolving, I don't see much of the snowball effect going on UNLESS you spend a lot of money on the game....but that only gives you a temporary boost.
Anyway I hope you find lots of legendaries soon, although I'll warn you that some are worse then certain epics

I have played enough mmos(6+ years of WoW) to know when devs are BSing us about drop rates of stuff.
Before nerf rares like Tengu were almost 100 % drop on prince (think its one out 5 -6 when there wasnt drop). On king Siren was droping 8 out 10 times on king and at least 30 -40 on prince. (ok fine i had some bad luck on tree quest but still on king its like 70-80 %), so they should at least stop BSing users.
Of course cant admit they havent added lots of free stuff that wasnt there befoere. Now you can pretty easily get at least 400 crystals per week , while before that was nowhere to possible ,unless you scored good places in pvp, so cant solely attack them for being greedy, but nerf they did, is just plain nasty . Maybe not as bad , but its like one of those MMO changes where portion of players still have some item that is removed and it allows them for a build new players can't.
I agree they need way to monetize game, and in mobile gaming monetiazation is always controversial, but this certainly is not a good way to do that .

Obviously rates have been nerfed on higher difficulties but on the other hand I feel like low-level challenge tower droprates have been increased a lot (level 1-5 reguarly drop a creature).
I wonder if difficulties like squire and knight have increased drop rates compared to before (even if it's still lower then king of course)
