Like the "Expanding Fronts" team for SW:GB, The HotA team is working purely for the love of what they're doing. Asking for this map location, or that change to a secondary skill is probably okay. Asking them to rebuild the game engine is going a bit overboard.
Still, some new spells would be nice.

If we are talking about new spells, then at least replace Disguise with a new level 2 air spell. Disguise is broken and does'nt work anyway.
Perhaps also do something about Land Mine, that spell sucks and I never want to cast it. If you could place the mines yourself or they caused the enemy to lose the rest of their movement for that turn it would be a bit more useful.

land mine works well. Whenever I had it as a last option it's been great.
Also, quicksand stops the enemy from advancing, so you can use it instead of land mine

I do have a rational argument: as they are Wizards can became strong heroes after some(long) time, if they were getting almost exclusively magic prims they wouldn't. Since Tower's might class is weak because of both primary and secondary skills distribution, not to mention starting with crippling secondary skills, Wizards desperately need to be efficient in the long run or Tower won't have any class that is playable. I already said somewhere in this pages that it's sad Jabarkas to be a better hero for Tower then any of his own but at least let's not double down on this.

Exactly, Quicksand is much better and cheaper than Land Mine. Quicksand I use often, but never Land Mine.

I find both of them useful (obviously that QS is better), so I don't think LM should be improved in any way. If they're gonna give you control over where you place the mines they should either make it a level 4 spell, or reduce the number of mines to 2, maximum 3. The way the spell works at the moment is the best.

you haven't found a good use for it yet, which is not even surprising considering that the best spells are mass slow, mass haste, and blind. I guess LM is situational, but I know for a fact that it's helped me in one particular game where I have been overwhelmed by nasty walkers (I don't remember which ones exactly), and - even though I had both QS and LM available - I chose LM because of the damage part of it. By the time the walkers got to me I could safely shoot them down without incurring losses. That's when I found LM useful, even if I had to spam it 5-6 rounds in a row and have the enemy chase me all over the map

Quicksand would probably have helped you more. Then you would actually have stopped the walkers, actually giving you time to shoot them down. Besides it being around 2-3 times cheaper than Land Mine!

it wouldn't have helped, because I had 8 or 12 shots (no ammo cart), and the enemy has been overwhelming. Really the only viable solution has been to use LM.
Anyway, nevermind. Both spells are good as they are and I don't think any of them should be changed (just my opinion)

Both QS and LM has a serious weakness in that creatures of the native terrain can see them.

@Monere I am not saying you are wrong, but I would have loved to see that battle were you claim Land Mine was indeed a better choice than Quicksand. 
@Matt Yeah that's a -1 for both QS and LM.

I obviously didn't save it. It's been pretty interesting though, albeit a bit boring.

Well I guess... The actual wizard is better than 20/20/30/30... You see in case of witches that this combo is super worse (frankly nobody needs wisdom in this game). Coz battles are still won with Attack and Defense. Not with Power (coz its limited to one spell per round) and Wisdom is kinda useless anyway. NEVER put any points in it, you get points automatically.
For the Land Mine discussion. Add more Mines or cause them to do much more damage. Maybe add the function to kill at least one unit when it hits the mine (Gorgon style) since the creature stepping on it just blows up. Make it tower exclusively, since Tower has them anyway as their setup

That's what you get when you're playing jeebus cross 24/7. 
On most maps, you don't get a million hives and conservatories + books of earth magic for taking.
Jeebus Cross meta =/= other maps.

All undead heroes are restricted from learning First Aid, but the Blacksmith of Necropolis provides the tent.
It's not a big deal, but the logic is not all there either.

Yeah Castle and Necropolis should really switch War Machines, Inferno and Dungeon too.

I'd rather see the First Aid tent removed from the game, along with First Aid skill.
