Did you change your profile and said "Password doesn't match"?
There's this thread about that bug, which Val said was fixed... but it returned it seems

Hey, I never edited my pass. Only my Personal Page.
I try to log with the same pass, but it doesn't work anymore.
I used that link for lost passwords, but the robot says: "Sorry, e-mail adress doesn't exists". Strange, isn't it? I used it 5 mins ago...

Doesn't matter, that bug happens when you edit your profile.
What email tells you that it doesn't exist? zamfiratheroesofmightandmagic.com or svejkatyahoo.cz?
If it's the former than it really doesn't exist, it's just a forwarder. Maybe that's why it doesn't work? If this is the case maybe next time you should put your real email there, this forwarder is used for those that don't check your profile for your email anyway.

Fine then. I'll never edit my profile from now on.
And I used zamfir at heroesofmightandmagic.com, the svejk one is only a joke.
When I type my real e-mail adress, zam.homm at yahoo.com, I am frankly informed it doesn't exists. The forwarder is detected, but I don't receive any e-mail.

Maybe God decided to punish you for wanting to leave, by giving you a real taste of how it is without HC? joking.
Now seriously, it doesn't work because zam.homm at yahoo.com is not associated with any profile (and therefore its password), and that's why 'it doesn't exist'. There's no user with that password here at HC, how can the password recovery tool know which user's password to send to that mail?
Technically, it should work with zamfir at heroesofmightandmagic.com since it is associated with Zamfir's profile. However, the problem seems to be that the forwarder either doesn't work, or the password recovery tool doesn't work with the forwarder.
That's why it's important to provide a valid email address at your profile, and also try not to use the forwarder next time. As I said, that forwarder is used for those that don't check your profile and email anyway, why write it there?

Now, on Page 22 I mentioned an idea about perhaps removing the 1 year edit thing that HC has. It turns out that that might not be possible due to what was in some of the links that Dimis provided.
Well, perhaps there could be a way around that. Perhaps give the ability to edit posts which are older than 1 year to 3 QP members or perhaps to 8 QP members. At that stage with their QP count, you can regard them as responsible enough to not attempt to try and delete any of their posts. 8 QP's doesn't give a status of 'Responsible' for nothing. I know that Xarfax did this when he had a few QP's, but I'm sure that these days nobody would try and do that again. There are many members here, yet most of us get given this limit because a very small amount caused a little trouble. doesn't seem really fair to me. So again, I'm gonna request that perhaps this 1 year editing limit can be taken off for 3 QP or 8 QP members.
EDIT:
Perhaps, if members do delete their threads (or whatever), then the threads could be moved to an invisible forum where all deleted threads go, where they can be checked by moderators and then the deletion reversed if need be. Could also help if penalties are given (as jokes) but the thread is deleted and the penalty forgot to be reversed.

I agree with William. People with a high quality count should be (and are in 99% of the cases) Responsible enough to not do that. What about Moderators then? Why they can edit posts longer than 1 year? After all, if someone like Xarfax was a Mod (well he acted kinda nice before to get a high quality count, didn't he?) and then freaked out he could delete those old threads.
Please don't get me wrong, the current Moderators are awesome and would never do that (99.999% sure - you can never be certain), but what I'm trying to say is that the members with high quality count wouldn't do it either (at least in my opinion)Quote: Perhaps, if members do delete their threads (or whatever), then the threads could be moved to an invisible forum where all deleted threads go, where they can be checked by moderators and then the deletion reversed if need be. Some days mass deletion seems like a fine idea
But then I log off til the urge passes.. as for missed panlties, one can always be awarded to compensate - such things can be verified easy enough and corrected.

Nevertheless, I find I very annoying not to be able to edit old posts. What will happen to my Table of Contents, for example, if I can't update it after an year from posting it?

You could post it again somewhere later and tell Alc to edit the original one last time to give that information (that the Table of Contents is on page X, post Y), just like Geny & Pan did in the Peanut Planters HQ
Sure it's a little annoying (and I agree I don't like this 1-year limit), but at least it works.

More than one member with many stars chose to destroy them , one with deletions - and one with edits.
In any case, there are workarounds - and while it may seem an inconvenience to have to ask a moderator - we will see that its taken care of for you.

I tried to open a new thread about an improvement but it doesn't open, and then Willy (William) told me to post the idea here,so I go:
Hey,an idea just came in my mind. It's about the star rating thread.
First of all,I'll tell how this idea came.At the start of 2007,when I first visited HC,I started looking all sub-forums for some nice threads. In every sub-forum I've just saw threads there were applied QPs (that time I didn't know what are QPs).I've saw a thread in the Temple that has 5 QPs applied and I though that is a 5 star threads so I started to look in.
Now,I'm a member of HC and I know why those red stars are near the threads name.I know also thread's rating(intresting, important, spamfest,to delete etc.) and I think it can better look like

4 stars,Intresting Thread

We all know that, lol. That was just one member though. Because of one members acts, many people should get the same punishment as he does? What about an option for mods and admins to be able to select what features members have?
