MMarchive, original Heroes 3 Complete
Hi, good modders
I am doing simple changes with MMarchive. For example increasing Growth of units and other properties in the original HOMM 3 Complete. And now, i would need to delete specialization of heroes to be like heroes in HOMM 2. Is it possibble for me? Or at least changing secondary skills.
For example Archery from 10 25 50 to 20 40 60, just only changing number s in txt document. thx very much with starting with modding.

I get an error whenever I try to change the main menu image. I use Def Tool, set the interface option ( I tried the other ones too )and I put it as bit map. However I get this error when I start the game and I get back to desktop:
Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

The file is only a pcx. It doesn't need a def.

I need creatures...
I was thinking about some creatures I want to create for a new town (who isn't?) and it looks to me that:
If I am not hable to simply reproduce certain creature habilities like enchanters and master genies (and I read somewhere Archangels ressurection hability could not be reproduced just by adding the spell) the best way to acchive my goal is to reproduce the creatures themselves (like it was done with the sharpshooters) and then to alter the stats, looks and aligment of the subtyped units to those of the creatures I really want to create.
In JV's Help it looks like every creature must have his own identity number, they are limited to an arbitrary number around 400 and Supreme Archangels and Lava Sharpshooters seem to be completly independent from Archangels and Sharpshooters, something I'm sure thier not.
Ok, I am not the smartest person in the world, I almost don't know ERM and I'm not so familiar with WoG, so:
- Why do I not see this done more often?
- Where is it done, if it is?
- Why is not? Is it hard-coded?
- How can it be surrounded?
- Those commander creature on the map editor, they have their own identity but their not creatures? Why are they there? What do they really represent (to the compiler)?
- Are the H4 and H5 creature defs somehow importable or I should expect problems because they were designed with 3D tool?
Does someone allready as their defs ready to use?
Does any one allready knows what I'm wandering about?
If so, please save me some time.

Kivo, I have no problems when replacing this pcx, game starts. My guess is that is related to another pcx or def.

Impossible Creatures
Does anyone ever considered to copy creatures from Impossible Creatures?
Even if all creatures have to be based on animals I think it could be a lot easier to create defs there and import them, if a method can be discovered.
I will investigate myself but, since the game is very old, maybe someone as allready tried and I have no knowledge about it.
Help, please.

I am sorry but have to repeat myself: you did not even open the erm help and check how it works. Therefore your questions make no sense, I don't think anyone can give you the help you need, I have no clue what you are asking. What is impossible creatures?

Impossible Creatures is a Microsoft game -> you assemble your armies by merging two animals into a 'impossible creature'.
And it's not the ERM I talking about, is the animated gifs, like merging creatures in the Creature Contest threads.
I remember def files were saved individualy but I don't have the game intalled right now so I can't check the format of those defs but they result in animated gifs...
Ops: Maybe I'm in the wrong Heroes 3.5 Wog thread...

Hy,
I've been trying a few mods and reading a lot of threads in a hurry but this confusing me:
- I read that archangels hability (ressurection spell) can't be given to other creatures. Is that so? why?
- Why can I give some creatures habilities like Immunity X, Double Damage or even ShootsClose to another creature but I didn't saw genies or enchanters habilities on the menu, are they different?
(I have allready post this on the wrong place but now I think I've got it)

Hy,
Does anyone knows where I can find an example of an artifact that triggers a battle where AI creatures are spread and Player Creatures in the center, as when you attack a bank?
If want to do something like this do I have to disable Tactics?

So far I never saw any artefact doing such thing in any mod or map, but is easy to script. BF trigger, check if artefact on, check battle field hexes numbers in erm, move your creatures on, same for defender.
Check Fnord's random battle positions SCRIPT for example.

who would use such an artifact? tent and ballista are gone, you are surrounded, archers are within short range, it's a disadvantage all the way.
