Amazing! Seriously, does anyone else think that the HotA Crew are the real Ancients, and that they watch over us? Thanks to them, Enroth was never destroyed and the old universe is more alive than ever.
Seriously, thanks for so much dedication and effort, HotA Crew. My respects.

UntalentedHero said: I don't know if it would be worth adapting the original campaigns to HoTA, but I think that it would be interesting to replace the portraits of the heroes of the Armageddon's Blade campaign and the elemental heroes of Conflux for others more consistent with the original hand-drawn style, because, in my opinion, the 3D portraits look pretty ugly. I mean, look at some of them:
Maybe it sounds stupid, but sometimes I avoid playing certain heroes because of their bad-looking portraits. A good portrait could make a lot of them more attractive to play.
I think also that some of the hero portraits of Stronghold or Fortress need an improvement too (many are a copy and paste of others), but I believe that Conflux and Armageddon's heroes need more the revision.
Some example of copy-pastes on Stronghold and Fortress:
Agreed. Horrible portraits. Magma looks decent.
Hey one of them is me!
In its defence Fiur's portrait being 90's CGI is really representative of its era, and really makes him stand out compared to the rest of the cast of heroes available.
but so are energy elementals, even compared to other elementals. "energy" is a hard thing to put into human form.
anyways i like him that way lol

Here's a couple of new renders to keep you entertained in these unsure times. Stay tuned for bigger news - as always. More articles on individual units are coming, among other things.
Halflings have undergone another complete overhaul since the Streamfest version, but this edition of them is likely to stick.

Cool. The halfling looks a bit too werewolf-y, though. Other than that, they look great.

Sometimes I go quite a while without checking this thread. Is that worm thing a new reveal or was it already announced?

Already seen on Russian forum at the beginning of this year. Actually, only the level 7 troop was something new regarding units, at its time.

Once there are the new halflings, what's gonna happen to the original ones? Are both going to co-exist? Or will there be a replacement for the old ones?

I think neutral Halflings gets dropped and new Halflings moves to Factory, native to Wasteland terrain.
I guess that means we need a new neutral level 1 unit...

"We are pleased to present an upgraded form of Sandworm"
From HotA Facebook. "an upgraded form". Which might as well confirm that it's gonna have 2 upgrades, and the last one will possibly be the Quatzelcoatl.

Hm, that sandworm looks even less like the Couatl than the Armadillo looks like an armadillo. "An" upgraded form might simply be awkward phrasing - or something else that a Winged Serpent hint.

Hmm, I think the old new Halfling concept with the hat was a better fit for a Western wasteland town.
For some reason I feel the new ones belong to a somewhat greener habitat. They look less likely to follow Mercenaries/Artificers now, less vintagey/steampunky or whatever and more similar to the original AB neutral ones.

The face and the hair looks a lot like Frodo (Elijah Wood) and yeah I agree they felt more western like with the hat.
Perhaps it would be a possibility to keep the neutral halflings, maybe with the Frodo design instead and Factory halflings with the hat?
