Quote: I could be completely wrong about this, I probably am, but given the magical emergence of this new snow terrian and sincre stronghold was something NO ONE and I mean pretty much NO ONE expected, I think there is a possibility that there might be a surprise 6th faction. Personally I was CONVINCED that the 4th faction would be academy, and since the 5th faction is everything but confirmed to be naga, there is a discrepancy. WHY are Academy monsters mentioned MULTIPLE TIMES in the faction descriptions? hmmmmm. food for thought. while snow IS generally seen as dwarf terrian it was h3 tower so i think that there is at least a 50% possibility of academy being a 6th faction.
Well, Stronghold is the Might faction for me. Yeah, the snow was unexpected. Maybe dungeon hasn't got it own faction in this game. And Ubi missed to tell us that there is going to be a snowy terrain. Is that level with a necromancer hero? I'll start with that faction first.

OK, as much as this could be snow terrain, it could also be bad lighting. The video quality is not perfect at all. Someone who's actually been there can confirm or deny this for starters.
On the other hand, I have access to a secret governmental prototype visual decipherer, which I used to scan one strange pixel at 3:28. After some decoding, the pixel revealed its full content. You can clearly see an Archangel armed with blaster rifle and wearing the NWC logo on his armour, shooting at some running figures, which after some additional decoding turned to be Nival programmers. I'll upload the image later.

Quote: Maybe (I don't want it to be) there will be a snow-based faction... with ice-based creatures such as yeti's white tigers and such creatuers.
I don't hope so... but its a possibility... and it has never been done before so who knows? In such a faction it would fit to put a sabretooth tiger aswel, maybe even the wolf.
I wouldn`t go as far as to say there will be a Snow Based Faction, but I think that the dev. created more divers terrain, I guess, to give the whole story a more epic feel, after all I presume in the 5 campaigns (or 6) I will go from the furthest inlands, to the highest peaks and if all would have been just green grass … well you see where I`m going.
Second of all … a lot of talk about 2 - 3 orcs in the Stronghold line up … yes I first I didn`t really like it but after giving it some thought it makes more sense, than to just put a random creature, indeed a roc/thunderbird or wyvern would have been beater considering the previous installments, but until I see the game and play it for myself I will hold my judgment.
I'm curious if they plan or have implemented, some type of weather cycle rain, sunny and/or day night cycle

I think it is time now that we get actual in-game screenshots of all the creatures. I presumed the Demon creatures weren't ready or something and that's why we have never seen them in-game, but they seem to have completed all known creature.

I don't have a problem so much with the quantity of orcs, but rather the fact that they all look very similar. We've got orc fighter guy, bigger orc fighter guy, and medium orc fighter guy who is secretly a shaman. I think it's possible to have diversity within a faction even between units of the same species. Though we really only have 1 or 2 screens of each I think, so until we actually play it is hard to tell how diverse they really are (for all we know the small one could backflip across the field of battle while shouting some crazy warcry )

I've been asking for that since... well, can't even remember. And indeed, if the just revealed faction already have all creatures in game, we demandz the others in screenshots too (and animations, pretty please, so we can see the awesomeness of the lights and fires)

....So, cool news (even though we could figure most of them), but the snow thing had made me wondering: is an ice faction NOT connected with dwarwes good? Ice race is just an idea, nagas could be present in it, but why there is no mentioning of it in any earlier HoMM? Plus, is it certain that the last race will be COMPLETELY new?

YES, unless they screw us big time sayin like "oh but we thought that you would be happy with just ONE new creature and some fancy graphic *hurr durr di durp...*"
however does some people seriously think that their will be a "snow-faction", huh? I really hope not.
Unless we are talking about a Polar-Bear/Hippopotamus race

I highly doubt that the new faction will be snow-themed, because already two factions reserve this somewhat: Dwarven Fortress, and Academy (it got desert in H5, but who knows if it won't return to its roots? )
I still have a little ray of hope that H3 Fortress has a chance (or at least in an expansion)
But in terms of what's more likely, I think it'll be Naga (which I love!) The whole concept of an aquatic faction seems very interesting an innovative to HOMM. I hope the lineup to be something along the lines of:
CORE: Murloc, Sea Serpent/Coatl, Basilisk
ELITE: Mermaid, Naga (female), Myrmidon (male Naga)
CHAMPION: Sea Monster/Leviathan
Anyone else would like this lineup? or something similar?

Quote: You and your goddamn warcraft units!
As much as I love warcraft(and believe me I do(however not WoW)) I still don't want any units from that game in Heroes. Especially not murlocs and I would hate a complete Water faction. Just no thanks
I see your point, but you'd be surprised I barely played any form of Warcraft in my life, they were just ideas
O-K - this was only a suggestion, chill
Unit names in my idea can be changed (e.g. Murloc to Troglodyte, since they are quite similar). As for Myrmidon, well you can call it anything you want, but I love their design and concept. If HOMM has Nagas...goes on to make a Naga FACTION...then I think it's rather logical (and beneficial) to include a male version too. If you dislike "Myrmidon" for being in Warcraft as well, it could easily be "Merman" or something. Their graphical style would also be changed to suit H6 obviously.
Why such an opposition to a water faction?

Speak for yourself. If we got Dungeon or Fortress, you'd have a point, but there were several people here who picked up the hints and arguments for the Might town. In my opinion it doesn't make sense that you decide to pay attention at the development and the "reveal" phase of a game but then you only read what you want to read.
Academy is mentioned because Necropolis and the beast-men are coming from them, but it doesn't mean there HAS to be an Academy campaign in the original Heroes 6. It's two different things, to know the Wizards are part of Ashan, and to actually be able to play with them.
The "surprise faction" will be for an expansion, maybe the snow footage was a rejected thing from H6, who knows. Not to mention that Academy is in the desert in H5 so maybe the snow is not related to any faction. Maybe the snow is in the game since the beginning but they never mentioned it not to confuse people who are upset that we only get 5 factions (Underground is different because it serves gameplay purposes and makes maps bigger).

I got it! The sixth faction will be the Grail! After you visit all obelisks, you are pointed to the location of a buried Fortified Academical Dungeon. After a lot of digging, you will discover the town of the faceless elven wizards, who got sick of dwarvenism, became very short and attractive to bears and decided to bury themselves!
Well, anyway, it's snow. If it wasn't planned from the beginning, then it's just a terrain. With some uses of course.

CHAMPION: Sea Monster/Leviathan
Leviathan walkin the earth ??
Yes. In H4 the Sea Monsters managed to do so, so I see no problem. And if you're talking about their locomotion alone, well, we would have to define how the Leviathan would be presented (in terms of anatomy etc.) if it would have a snake-like body, dragon-like head, breathe ice, I see no barrier between this awesome creature being in HOMM (If it has a snake like body, then it's movement wouldn't be any more restrained than that of Naga, or H1 & H2 Hydra ) OK, if you still have doubts...
ANOTHER SOLUTION:
They may have the ability (which would look visually stunning as well) to levitate (Leviathan - levitate? ) above the ground when outside of water, by using some sort of a telekinetic aura! Don't know about you, but I'd love something like that! They ARE Leviathans after all, giving them some supernatural power (at least to aid them moving around) is simply fair.
@Jabanoss I take it you don't like Murlocs. Well, like them or not, you cannot deny the fact that they ARE (anatomically at least) similar to Troglodytes. I said similar, not identical . OK, OK, just idnore I said "Murlocs" if you hate them so much, the Troglodyte is an alternative in my idea.
Myrmidon is a boring creature?! Well this certainly is your opinion, surely not shared by me. Your argumant of them attacking by spitting water (WHAT?!) simply because they're mainly aquatic, is just like saying all other units in HOMM attack by expelling a gust of wind from their mouths because they're terrestrial
Myrmidon's design is absolutely awesome even in Warcraft, Imagine what they'd look like in H6! And their attack? Well an example:
Attack 1 - a strong punch with their arm (or weapon of some sort)
Attack 2 - a bite/ headbutt/ or attack by slashing someone up with the spikes on their forehead.
Attack 3 - a strong blow delivered by doing a 360" with their tail
PLUS, they'd possess a lot of cool and UNIQUE abilities. Still boring to you?

I love snow. It's my favourite terrain. Lovely! Too bad it won't have a faction. However, what about dwarfs being a dungeon faction, Academy - snowy and elves belong to some kind of a terrain, filled with summer flowers, blue lakes and etc?
