You don't sound very optimistic
With regards to the other missions, we didn't do them in order and have basically done all missions expect this and the 3rd mission of this campaign, although I have some ideas for that one. We have done all academy missions, inc. the last one. very hard it was.

Today I was testing it and during one of my tries Biara finsished her turn 1 tile away outside the garison. If that can happen to all of them then success. I do agree, it would take a very long time but I think theoretically possible.

Oh, also grab this fix. The lighting in mission 5 is bugged and a complete eyesore, this mod corrects the issue.

I found my H5 complete so I decided to play on heroic in 1.6 balance.

I'm in second mission and I regretted going light/logistics when I was reminded that you're locked into your area by some 9-10 pitlords. Even attacking week 2 can cost you a lot in hunters.

So.. I restarted and went ballista/tent build. I am immensely annoyed that you can't get flaming arrows due to starting tactics! Why does Nival hate wm builds so much xD Anyway, those pitlords were taken out on week 1 along with the goldmine. Time to rush some demons.

I feel I will regret this build when Nikolai arrives..

It's weird seeing ol' school webpages again. It's like timetravel (also seeing my old comments from 18 years ago... sheesh, time has passed)

Turns out, the mission 2 pitlords don't really block you because there's a shipyard in town xD But if you have warmachines you can take them out in week 1 and rush the middle inferno town through the underground - where you can build devils/castle. After that you can return to your main town, sail north-east to take the next inferno town (upgrade devils), then northwest (I think there was an island with goodies) till the edge of the map and to the south to reach the final inferno town. If you take your time, they'll start crawling all over the map so better be proactive. I'm not sure what happens if you use the shipyard before going to the underground, it is probably viable.

Third mission, you can leave the dragons in town and go take on the enemies with the rest. Once you build up the next sylvan town, you can send reinforcements to the main town so that you reach the required army numbers from the quest. Upgraded dragons don't count so don't upgrade and only buy when you have 8 of them (assuming you already have 30 silver unicorns and 50 druid elders). I had to split and re-enter town to complete the quest. The heroes you liberate have good skills but they are too far to defend your main town so might as well leave them where they are. At most, get them to a town with mage guild 5 for town portal.

Now, final mission. It is boring, it is slow and the AI takes ages. It's worth scouting with Talanar since his scouting radius is insane. Findan does the heavy lifting as usual. If the underground necro hero is strong, go for the garrisons that hold the dwarven artifacts and town portal if needed. I'd recommend taking out the ghost dragons in your area before exiting the underground to take the fight to Nikolai and his minions. Mainly because you'll be seeing the AI run around stupidly, during some very long turns once you're there. Also, it takes more than a week to get there so it's a chore having to return. If the enemy main is strong, try to catch Nikolai instead, he had 12 blade dancers when I attacked him But you still have to kill all spectral dragons (or complete the quest but who gives up on 4 dwarven relics willingly).

Things of note:

Warmachines are viable on heroic, even in the final mission. You'll have all dwarven artifacts plus unicorn horn bow, you'll be fine even without a might/light build. Tent and imbue ballista will also make things a lot easier in early missions.

This campaign is harder than playing on tote with the campaign mod. No druid channeling, no arcane archers, avenger does not cover both upgrade and basic when you pick a unit, imbue is not instant etc.
