I was quite shocked with this but there were hints all over the place I guess...I can understand that sometimes quality penalties are the best way of cutting down on spam and qp hunting but everything else I have seen is simply low.
I thought members of the modsquad would act in a more serious way but was I ever wrong. Why all this hypocrisy and obvious disrespect towards certain members? Even stating that this is an April fool's day thread is insulting to our intelligence.
This place is not a playground for personal feuds and bullying, it's supposed to be a user forum for discussions. If Alci is right in one thing it is that mods should be active themselves to encourage people to post, not use toys to mess things up...Even as a noob mod he has acted for the good of the forum and those who post in it and you had a problem with him not getting his hands dirty.
I thank you for the effort you have put into the forums but I am very disappointed about how things work...If any members go it will be because of that, not the one who let the cat out of the bag.

It was wrong of me to do many of the things that I have done and I sincerely regret the harsh words I have used on many of the members here. As of today I will be resigning from the Mod Squad and returning my sword and shield to Val. I don't expect the thank-you QP's he normally gives to exiting moderators as I do not believe they are deserved.
All I ask is for your forgiveness, you the members and my fellow moderators and of course Val.

Alci, you're a low life righteous fool. You didn't build this place, you didn't run it and just show up and think you know it all and want to be a hero. Firstly your sword will be flying out the window and after we sort the ADAM mess, you'll be dealt with, have no doubt about that.
I guess it's too late to move this back now. It's not something that should have been seen, but since it has been we'll need to explain ourselves. At HQ we do joke around a lot, but you never see us put those jokes into harming somebody, it's just our way of having more fun while keeping HC the best possible place to be. And instead of resigning and jumping ship, leaving the rest of us to deal with this I'd like to ask mods to help me clean up this mess and restore HC to what it was. We can't just drop what we've been working on for many years even when times are difficult.

I'm sorry Val but I've made my decision.
I'll help clean things up while I still have my sword but that's only because I made such a mess today.
After today I'd like you to de-mod me. Lith can handle Other Games and Shadow has BGP.
I think that leaves things covered. I already said my peace in in the Mod Squad so you don't need to hear it again.

Oh well, I guess it is about time people knew what was really going on anyway. No, this thread isn't a joke, nor has it been doctored, despite what you may think. It's true that you members are the community, but lately it seems everyone is simply waiting on somebody else to take initiative and revive HC. Anyone who was around before 2005 can attest to the fact that everyone put real effort into this community instead of just hoping for a nice thread to pop up every once in a while, and this site was so much the better for it. I've seen recent glimpses of the way HC used to be in threads like The Continuing Saga of Bob and Mark Your Territory, but now everyone just attacks each other and hopes that something will change.
We mods didn't used to be this way, but it is very frustrating to see members gathered in a circle whining about how HC is dying. If you all really want to salvage the mods' opinions of the members, then why not show a little initiative and make a new HC that everyone can enjoy. Then people like me won't need to resort to retreating into secrecy and blowing off steam.

Elvin is right - all the BS in this thread isn't just to be explained away by 'here at HC we do joke around a lot' - reading all this just basically means to me that the mods - bar Pandora, Kooka and Alc (although by the sounds of it he won't be around much now) - have little to no respect - you complain about members posting infantile drivel and this is the best you can do yourselves?? Alc was right, this place is seriously toxic. At least FF had the balls to slag people off in public.
Vokial do you feel like expanding the GotP forum?

I promise we're not really that mean. The mods are mostly just aloof and/or senile. Our spam thread should reveal quite enough evidence to convict us of that.

Hey, all you say that HC is dying, and everyone should help to revive it.
I can promise that resigning from modship won't help to revive HC at all.
About this thread, I just want to make it clear:
I think that it's okay that the moderators talk about users in their private forum.
It isn't okay that they being cruel to them, only becuase they are regular users.
It's not okay that you lie to them, work on them and being cruel to them without reason.
If I am William, I would be very offended, if I read what's written here.
