"Deadly force is authorized. Civilian casualties not a factor. Bring them down and bring them down hard." that is the response from MEGA.
Seems they do not care if there is some collateral damage as long as there is order afterwards.
It does seem unusual that in the same day a mutant with plant like powers and a R & D lab working on something to harm plants was destroyed.

"Then lets have fun." Shagrath said.
They had just arrived only one block from the chaos, and it were coming closer.
"Stay behind me, and everything will be fine." Shagrath said, then laughed.
He flew against the closest person, and tore the head off. Another one were set on fire within a second. Then he jumped up on a wall, faster than any human, and blocked all roads to where he was. He flew over to the main stream of the chaos, and started sending fire down at those who were creating chaos. The 'rebels' were screaming, some sort of inferno had been let down on them. Shagrath grinned, this was what he were born to do, murdering. He were shot in the shoulder, and wheeled back. He hid behind a car while he took out the bullet, he had never felt such pain before. Then he rose, and found out that his arm were paralyzed, now he only had one arm to use for fighting. He took up the cellphone and called Varjo.
"Help... me..." he said, before he passed out.

I watched Shagrath let loose. He was indeed powerful albeit a little reckless by being so visible flying up there. The shock effect seemed to be working though as he didn't seem to draw fire. Well it was about time to get in the mix.
I draw my laser-pistol and started counting bodies. Two were using a parked car as a shield. They didn't seem to have noticed me yet. Bad for them, good for me. They fell with a burning hole on their head. I was targeted by four rioters but luckily they were bad shooters so I managed to roll to the same car what the two dead rioters had used as a shield without taking a hit. I recalled the situation. One shooter 30m in front of the car three, one woman and two men, by another car 50m away to the left. I leaned out from the right side of the car and shot the guy 30m away in stomach causing him to double over and fall to ground. No one seemed to care about his injuries though. Not a good sign. Either they were mercenaries without agenda or they were zealot's. Hopefully the first one 'cause zealots mean suicidal attacks.
I saw Shagrath taking a hit. Caused him to fall but seemed like minor hit. Then I heard something from my transmitter. "Help...me..." It was Shagrath. His voice seemed to be fading. Maybe he was losing consiousness. From a shoulder hit? Strange. Now I had to get across the 100m yard. First I should get rid of the three rioters pinning me down. The car which they were using as a shield had seemed to be in a bad shape. Maybe I could get through it's plating to the fuel tank and light the fuel in it. I tried to get a shot of but the female one almost hit my hand. Not an option from this angle. Then I heard a familiar howl. Lumi had caught up with us. The voice was enough to distract the shooters giving me a chance to shoot a few repeated shot to the car's fuel tank. BOOM! Just as I had expected.
No it was only a matter of crossing this yard...
There was a solid fence on the right side of the yard 30m away about a man high. I decided to make a run for it and dashed. I draw some shot's but nothing accurate enough. There didn't seem to be anyone behind the fence. Yet another strange thing. Why wouldn't anyone utilise such a shield in a firefight? I was still running to the other side of the yard when someone jumped over it. Without thinking I reached to my knife and sliced the guy open. The end of the fence was approaching and there was still a few meters to the car after that. Hopefully I would be in time for him. I lept behind the car and found Shagrath unconsious. What had caused this? Not an ordinary bullet. That I was sure. Strong tranquilizer perhaps. One thing was sure though. I had to get him out of here. I had passed by a small alley behind the fence maybe I could get away from there.
I checked the situation. No one didn't seem to pay particular attention to us. I lifted him to my shoulder and started running to the alley. Thank god he had morphed back. Aach! Something hot scratched my left thumb. I blocked all circulation to it just in case it had anything to do with Shagrath's passing out and just kept going. The alley was there. Hopefully still empty.
I wasn't that lucky. A kid around thirteen or so was there. Holding a gun ointed straight to me. He seemed odd. Like everything wasn't home in his head. That didn't make me feel any better. To my surprise the kid shouted "Put him down!"
As my left hand was unusable right now. and the other was holding Shagrath my options seemed quite limited. "Okay. Where?"
"What do you mean where? Anywhere.", he snapped.
"Is here fine?"
"Yes, yes. Now put HIM DOWN!"
"Okay", I said and grinned. There was a loud crunch and the boys head dropped down. Lumi was just in time. I carried Shagrath away from the fight but when I let him down my eyes started to blur. Damn whatever it was it was strong. I alerted Rebels for some healing and transportation to base of operations and sat down beside Shagrath. This was strong indeed.

Darkblade and Bear arrive on the scene. Rose is not far behind, but she is not really a combatant, and is waiting for the all clear. They preview the wreckage and realize that the remaining rioters have retreated ... for now. Darkblade found Shagrath and Varjo. "We have two wounded, though the injuries look minor. Bring the van." She said into a com.
Within no time the van has taken the two to the place they have set up for the independant group to use. When both awaken there is a blond man with pale skin and pink eyes helping them back to health. "Easy, you were hit by some nasty neutralizers, they were mixed with a paralitic agent. The effects may linger for a bit, because your mutant abilities will be suppressed until it wears off. What the heck happened out there?"
"And what the heck are you doing endangering innocent civilians. I don't care what stick MEGA has where, I don't think they are aware or responsible for their actions." This from Bear.
"Brother, they don't work for Gemini. They did what they thought they must. Something is not right and you know it." Rose chided Bear. "Please ignore my brother, he thinks everybody should think like him." Petals fall from her hand onto them and both start feeling a bit better, but not much. "I am sorry, I am not really strong. I hope it helps however."
About that time, on the large TV screen (and on just about every tv screen). NEWSFLASH - Falcon Security is at a loss to explain how a visiting Botanical Specialist was gunned down in one of there most secure facilities. Amy Deleb, age 33, often hearalded as the top of her field was visiting the facility to identify a strange new plant that had sprouted overnight in the gobi desert. Security was not breached, but yet she was shot by what was described as a "gatlin gun like object" that just appeared and then dissapeared. More as the situation develops.

"Everything helpes." Shagrath said, and sat up. "Without my powers I am nothing, I am older than you can imagine, so without my demonic side I would die within a few weeks."
"How old are you then?" Varjo asked, wondering.
"I have no idea, I just remember some guy named George W. Bush that was a president when I was in high school..." Shagrath whispered.
"Checking data base..." Rose said, searching for the name in the computer. "Well, let us just say that you are really old."
She rose, and looked over at Shagrath.
"What do you remember of your previous life?" she asked.
"Nothing really, except a few names that's not of interest..." Shagrath whispered, quickly losing strength again. "I... only remember things from fifty years back. That's when I woke up inside a king of laboratory. I think I was some kind of experiment to make a... I don't know."
Shagrath laid down again.
"How long time does it take before this thing stop working?" he whispered, then he blacked out again.

Meanwhile Mindweaver awakens from a short map to learn that a top botanologist had been killed.
'That's no coincidence..
A cup of coffee and I'll search for subjects related to botanology and plant growth. My machine should not take long to find matching results. The only thing I can do for now is to be close to the next victim before the attack takes place but not inform anyone and alert the attacker to my presence.'

Before all that (I'm tired of writing this:P)
Problem Child stood outside the meeting place and watched mutants sign up and go away, alone or in teams. He wasn't sure what to do. He could never make it alone in this alien world, but he didn't know anyone here. He wouldn't want to team up with someone like that maniacal, cash-hungry fellow that walked away with a shady character and a wolf.
As he stood there and hesitated all the mutants that came to sign up have already departed. So that left him with only one choice. He approached the one who signed them up - Stargazer.
"Hello there, my name is Problem Child", he said to her in a friendly manner.
"I'm sorry, but you're not on the list. This mission is dangerous and we can't let anyone who was not in my vision to risk their life."
"Well, what if I don't endanger myself? I just want to help you in the HQ", Problem Child figured that this might be the easiest way for him to get as much info as he can. Besides he could always leave if he feels like it.
"I suppose that is acceptable, it's probably going to be very busy in there and we could use some help. Alright, you can come along".
So Problem Child followed Stargazer to the new base of operations. As he expected he got all the info he needed (which proved to be much more than he wanted). Finally, he began to adjust to this new world although he still couldn't work with most of the modern technology.
As he was trying to figure out what to do next, some injured mutants have arrived at the base. He came to see what had happened, but when he heard that their injuries weren't serious he decided to keep a distance and just listen to what they were saying. When they both fell asleep he returned to Stargazer and told her everything he heard. This was very informative, but he still had no idea what to do next.

Stargazer assigns some of the rebels to help catch Problem Child up on things, and suddenly she starts glowing and rises off the ground. Her eyes light up and a unworldly voice echoes. "And from the past there shall come one of sound. Words shall be their power. To him I say..the petal is the key. Let it not wither, or all is lost."
Mindreaver's computer turns up something interesting. None of the other mutants that died had anything to do with powers that were plant based..BUT they had been ones that had dissapeared and returned. All except Gemini (which is neither). The plant thing is new. Also the Gobi Desert has a new garden..one 5 miles long and 5 miles wide. Sprang up over night, and nobody knows how or why. Right about the time that the returning people started acting strange.
The effects of the neutralizers finally wear off, with the strange albino's and Rose's help. Both are now again fit to return to work. Stargazer turns to Problem Child and suggests.."Why don't you work with me, Rose, and Bear? None of us are really leaders, we could use somebody who can think on their feet, and we can help you adjust to our time."
"Mindreaver, if you need anything let me or Rev know." this from Purrrfect. "We are more followers then leaders, but we have our talents."
Stargazer says "These are only suggestions, if you don't need help by all means don't feel like you have to have it."

Shagrath looked over at Varjo.
"Wanna get some food?" he asked, "And a beer or ten?"
Varjo looked at him ...or ten?!
"I could do with some food..." he said.
"Then there's beer to me." Shagrath said, and started searching for food. "Hey, where's the food in here?"
"Oh, they forgot to tell you; the money are also to buy food." Stargazer said, "But we have some energy-drinks and some healthy food here if you are interested."
Healthy food?
"I can try it..." Shagrath said, giving Stargazer a dark look. "What was that about 'the one with the words'... and something about power and much more crap..."
Stargazer looked straight forward.
"It looks like our good friend Problem Child here is included now." she said.

Mindreaver pondered a bit on the new info but decided to go with the flow this once - besides alone he might be vulnerable. He picked up the phone. 'Hey Purrfect I may have need of your skill. Meet me at the Avernum park in half an hour.'
He still did not trust a Coed association and how it could turn out. Some time later she arrived at the rendezvous place.
'Just in time.'
Purrfect seemed at ease but rather curious. 'Why all the secrecy?'
'I think I may have a lead but having more people learn about it would ruin the element of surprise. Apparently whoever it is that creates all this chaos has recently turned his attention to attacking mutants and places related to botalonogy search and powers.'
The feline listens with interest. 'Or we face something else at the same time. So what are you planning?'
'A large garden appeared out of thin air in Gobi desert around the time the missing guys started causing riots. Not sure how it is related to this situation but I think we should check it out on person. As for the appearance I wonder if it has anything to do with the missing meteor, gardens don't grow overnight in deserts where I come from.'
'Right I'm in. There is a Teleporter around here let's go check how close the nearest exit to the garden is, otherwise I'll have to borrow a chopper.'

"Healthy food. Healthy food. So no stakes?" I asked in amazed. "Or beer?"
"Nope. Not a bottle" She answered.
"Where's the closest butcher shop then?"
"What? Wait... Probably there.?" She showed me live feed of a buther shop being raided by a wolf. Someone had gotten hungry.
"At least someone's eating. Let's go get some real food. I ain't eating munitions if I don't have to. You coming my winged friend? I sure could use a grilled stake or two right now." I said while heading to the door.
"I don't feel like walking much right know but bring me some, will you?"
"Sure!"
When arriving to the store I see a very pale salesman on the counter. Lumi on the other hand seems to enjoy his meal with no restrictions.
"Help me", he pleas.
"How much?"
"What? All I have just help me get that out of here.", he mutters in shock.
"No,no. How much for 15kg of veal and all he has eaten?"
"It's your's?", he asks, not believing what he is hearing.
"Well kinda..."
"Just get it out of here and you can take all you can carry."
I take a whole calf and put the amount of money that I estimate I own him on the counter.
"Here's something for the trouble we caused you." His eyes open wide in awe. Clearly my estimate was a little too much. I throw a look at Lumi and he follows me back carrying his presiuos game.
When I arrive with Lumi the others seem to become a litle tense but Shagrath's welcome loosens the atmosphere:
"Great you brought some snacks!"
We proceed to prepare the dinner. The look I get from the big guy when I ask him if he'd like to help is surprisingly sulky:
"I'm a vegan."
Now who could have though that?

"This is some good $h!t!" Shagrath said.
He had turned into demon form, and it almost looked like he were swallowing the meat without chewing it. He had eaten half of the calf when they were finished, and then he smiled.
"That's a good lunch." he said, "Now, when is dinner? I am starving."
Varjo laughed.
"Go out and buy some if you need some." he said.
Shagrath looked over at Bear.
"Shall I buy you something too? You don't eat..." Shagrath said, but Bear shook his head.
Shagrath went outdoor, and started getting dizzy again. Damnit, a little defensive next time would be good. he thought. He went over to the bar not too far away, and sat down inside, human form again.
"One beer." Shagrath said.
"Right away." the bartender said.
Shagrath got it within a couple of seconds, and drank it slowly. Someone in the corner gave him dark looks, and whispered to each other. They want trouble. Shagrath thought. Then one of them, a big guy wearing a lot of gold necklaces and such stuff came over to him.
"Give me your money." he whispered, and held a knife up against Shagraths face.
"If I were you, and if I had a brain, I would back away." Shagrath snarled, and one of his hands got claws.
He didn't show it though, he kept the hand hidden. Then the man stab against Shagraths chest, and the other men rose. Shagrath stopped the mans hand and took a grip on it. The clawed hand ripped upward, and tore the belly up. The man fell gasping to the ground, dying. The others were on him at once, by some reason they had all red-glowing eyes, and their hands also had claws. They got sharp teeth, mutants, morphers like him but in a weaker version. He morphed too, wings spreading, keeping them from coming from his sides. He summoned the fire, and sent it into one of the ones closest. The beast went down, screaming, and the others were on him at once. He span around, knocking them to the ground with his hard wings. Then he roared, and let the fire consume two more of them. One were standing, and that person ran screaming out of the bar. Shagrath breather heavy for a few seconds, then sat down again.
"And another beer." he said, turning into a human again.

"Well, I'm not much of a leader myself", Problem Child replied in an unsure voice. "Besides, I'm a guest in your time so if any of you have any ideas feel free to share them with the rest."
An awkward silence followed.
"Wait, actually I have something", Problem Child seemed excited. "The questions that Mindreaver asked when he contacted us and the words that Stargazer heard in hear vision. They point to something connected with plants or flowers. Rose, you seem to be connected to Earth more then anyone... many of my friends back home would love to be so close to nature."
Problem Child started to drift back to the days he sat in a circle with his hippy friends, smoking weed... then Bear interrupted his thoughts with a "polite" cough.
"Anyway, what I meant to say was that maybe you felt something strange lately, or maybe could listen to the Earth now and see if you have any clues for us?"

((ok bare with me there is a lot of ground for me to cover for everybody. Oh and sometimes my memory isn't the best, if I mess up names I appologies in advance))
Gobi Desert. Mindreaver and Purrrfect arrive in the desert, which is something like a natural reserve. Imediately they see the unusual plants that was on the news, and a lot of people have come to see these myseterious plants for themselves. Only, it just looks like corn. True, corn that is growing fast enough that even with the naked eye it can be seen growing...but corn nonetheless. It is already 16' high, and still growing. Scientist are already taking samples to annalyze. It currently covers an area 5 miles wide and 3 miles long. More are appearing every moment, however.
Back at the base. The shadow and the demon are now back on their feet, healthy again. While they are there one of the new recruits come up to them. It is the bloodmage. He looks at both of them and approaches. "Fools, all of them. They think they can reason with the insurgents, and this thing that is killing mutants. They worry about plants, when they should be concerned about humans and mutants. I sense you two are different. You KNOW. If you need my services, I will do what I can."
Rose tries to sense something, anything, and about that time a shimmer appears in the air. A humming is heard, as if something is powering up, but nobody (ie none of the npc's) seem to notice it. Problem Child is the closest.
Meanwhile Malice and another is summoned by Entropy in the COED base.
"As much as I detest the leaders of the other groups, I need you two to infiltrate them and assist them. I will make it worth your while. I don't trust them to be able to find their way out of a wet paper sack, let alone who is endangering us. As a couple, you two will be able to help them along. That means playing nice...for now. I know it will not be pleasant, but it is neccessary."
The male of the two grins and looks at Malice. "A couple hmm? I think I can get use to that. Names Steam." Steam is roughly 6' tall, dark red (almost black) hair, unusual red eyes. "If your ok with it, I am. Sounds like it may be fun."

I'm talking with Shagrath about recent events:
"...there isn't enough of the returned to create any real threat without massive armament. These attacks are either distractions for something bigger or they are going to get an army from somewhere. It might also be territorial instinct because they seem to be in somekind of primal state..."
One of the new recruits approaches us:
"Fools, all of them. They think they can reason with the insurgents, and this thing that is killing mutants. They worry about plants, when they should be concerned about humans and mutants. I sense you two are different. You KNOW. If you need my services, I will do what I can."
"Let's start with a name and how exactly do you think you could be of use to us? We don't need a M.E.G.A. lapdog.", Shagrath states.
"Don't mistake a man for his superiors. I'm Bloodmage. Name speaks for my talents. Nevertheless my offer stands"
I tell him we'll think about his offer and he leaves.
"What do you think about him?",I ask from Shagrath when I notice Lumi raises his ears a little. Now he raises his head and his eyes open.
"There's something in the base!", I shout and start running after Lumi who is already at the hallway. This might be what's been killing the mutants. If I just could get to it in time! Lumi seems to be heading to the main hall. I was going way too fast for the next turn to left so I literally ran on the walls to get through the turn. Lumi was already far ahead. He was able to run twice as fast as I afterall. If I only could get there in time...

Shagrath followed after them, running on all four as a demon. When Varjo went up on the wall Shagrath jumped up on the wall too, and continued there, using his claws to keep the same speed. He ran past Varjo and cought up with Lumi.

Rose seems to try and focus her powers. Everybody looks at her with anticipation. Just then, Problem Child hears a strange humming noise. He turns around and sees a shimmering light not far from him. He looks at it for a second amazed by the wonders of the future, but he feels that something's wrong. He pats Stargazer on the back, and as she turns to him he points at the light and asks:
"Is it supposed to do that?"

Stargazer litteraly sceams..."NO!!!!" and tries to push Rose out of the way. A beam emits from the area and knocks her down, you can tell it was not a full power beam. A missle appears out of nowhere and heads straight at Rose. Everybody (the npc's) are too stunned to do anything. The wolf jumps at the 'shimmer' only to yelp as electricity surges through it. It falls to the floor injured. Now Problem Child is closer to Rose, and the shadow and demon is closer to the 'shimmer'.

Shagrath roared, then he sent his full force into the shimmer, seeing the wolf being blown away by physical attack he decide to use his fire. The fire makes the thing move a little bit, although most of it goes in a perfect circle around it, on the top and sides.
"A kind of protection-shield." he growled, and looked at Varjo. "The dog were stunned by electricity, try to get some steel down into the ground, then into the shield."
Varjo looked unsure.
"It will lead the electricity over to the floor, and drain it away. It will leave it vulnerable, I think I've seen something like this before." Shagrath continued, still struggling to stop the shimmer from reaching Rose. "Hey, Problem Child, get Rose out of here. As far away as you can, it seems to be going after her!"
Varjo grabs a steel-pipe and slam it into the ground, then he find a long chain. He connect them, and throw the chain onto the shield. It light up at once, making the room almost white of light. Problem Child gets Rose up and carry her for the emergency exit, then opens and gets out. Shagrath continues with the fire, but the shimmer gets closer. Suddenly the shield shatters, and the full force of the fire hit the machine. It is blown into the wall, and become visible. Shagrath stops using his fire, and walk over to it.
"Easy work." he said, laughing.
"Look out!" Varjo screamed, then the machine grabbed Shagrath and threw him across the room.
Shagrath spread his wings and landed safe at the wall. He hissed, this thing were way too powerful for him to take down alone. Probably him, Varjo and the wolf wouldn't be enough. A missile were launched at him, and he jumped away. Varjo had to make something to get it away from him so he could make an assault on it again. And quick before Shagrath were taken down.
