Ok, movies. I thought SAW I was too predictable. Lot of films lately are just trying to be 'torture porn'. Hostel, Touristas, SAW, ect. They lack the hair standing up on the back of your neck excitement of true horror. To me the 'show as much pain as graphically as possible' movies are boring. Texas Chainsaw was more interesting (and it was not really that interesting to me).
SAW II was a bit better then I, even if it was still a bit boring. Have yet to try III, and IV just came out. Not sure if I will watch either of them.
Movies that (at least at the time) I thought was fantastic. Lets see. Independance Day (yeah the solution was a bit hokey, but it was a decent movie). MIB I, though II was horrible imo. Bloodsport (despite having Juan Claude). Enter the Dragon. (I do tend to like action movies). The fifth element! (Leeloo!!!) (I recomend this movie to everybody, even though its main drawl is Mila as Leeloo). Resident Evil (Mila again mostly, I admit) I, II, and III (III might actually be better then I though it had parts I was not fond of).
Rush Hour, avoid the plithera of sequals however (the never seem to get it right after the first one).
Any of the Harry Potter movies (Yeah so I am a big kid, sue me).
LoTR Movies
That should be a decent start at least.

lol I got hair where it counts, lol
just kidding.
Anyway Mytical, I have not seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre (although I love those kinds of movies), so is it any good? would you recommend me getting it?
btw, if you want good movies, ask Angelito, he has good taste in movies imo, the slasher ones anyway, loool.

Well the remakes are rarely as good as the original and it was no exception. However, at least it was a good remake. I would recommend watching both, but the remake first so that the original does not ruin it. I know a lot of the slasher movies. Some even that were so horrible they were decent.
Like Sleepaway Camp. God what a horrible movie, yet I could not stop watching it.
April Fools (Yes there is a movie called that) (maybe April Fools Day, been a long time since I've seen it).
Slumber Party Massacre (T and A movie, but was so bad it was hard not to watch)
Rock and Roll Zombies (*hangs head in shame*)...now this one was classic. Premise : A song brings dead things back to life. The dead things crave human flesh, but won't eat any part of the head (for some reason). Group that found the song gets electricuted, and one of thier friends plays the song and they come back as zombies. Not to give much away but there is one scene that a bunch of people use cardboard with heads painted on them to try to sneak past the zombies....ok technically not a slasher flick, but it was soooo bad it was good.

Quote: Thats why we should blend in with the new... You can not bring HC back to the way it was.
Hmm... actually for me it's the other way around. I'd like to blend in with the old-timers. I know I can't change the fact that I'm a newbie here, hence I don't know how HC was and haven't got a chance to know most of you. But I love this community. It's more than just the game. I realize though that people are going to "measure" who you are and what you do before they can really "blend in" together, and I'm still far from proving anything.
I just love being here, no matter how it was and how it is today.

Aculias, I think you missed the point of what I was trying to say. What I meant was that in the "old days" of HC, most posts were found in the same place, we didn't have all of the subforums that we have now, so you could see different sides to posters all the time - and because of that people got to know each other in a more "real" way. Now we have lots of people that post strictly in "their" forum - and if you don't read those forums, you miss out on knowing who they are.
There is a lot of separation here, and people generally stick to posting with certain people that they know - which limits them from getting to know other people - and is also intimidating for new posters who might like to join in, but feel like they'd be unwelcome.
All I hoped to see here, is that more people would start talking to each other - I'm sure that there are a ton of fun people out there lurking and wanting to join in, but don't know where to start - so why not start here?
Duncan, I'm glad to see that you jumped in! The Pianist is one of my all time favorite movies, there were scenes where I actually found myself holding my breath because i didn't want to make a sound... lol I guess I thought I might get him caught And Al Pacino I love in just about anything, he's such a giant of an actor... I really liked Scent of a Woman too, although I have to admit that I got really sick of everybody saying "Hoooo Haaaaah" after watching it
Mytical, your movie list hit me with such a wave of nostalgia lol me and my girlfriends used to watch all those crazy B movie horrors back in the day I had completely forgotten about sleepaway camp, now I want to rent it again haha Another one that we used to watch was called the Unnameable, I remember one night of drinking Sangria and watching it, and we were all yelling at the screen that someone should just give it a name already so it would stop killing everyone
@ Kookie *blushes* Okay, well not all the stuff we say on HCM should go here, I mean, we do have to remember the modhats

Well, in that case you could just toss a nice salad, and share it with everyone
I think Tossing left with Stefan...
But that said, there's no reason not to find a new way to have fun We can usher in a new era! Instead of talking, we could always take on smurfing a la Consis, if new people come in and start spamming, we can smurf them the smurf right outta here!
