Yeah, wait a minute, the Kor originate on Zendikar. How did most of them end up on Dominaria? Hmm....Maybe that's the old empire and the ending of it scattered the Kor. If so, then multiversal powers may be at work. And how did Ob Nixilis lose his spark? I think maybe the Mending stole his spark accidentally, stranding him on Zendikar; or maybe Ob Nixilis lost his planeswalker status when the old powers were overturned into hedrons, and his spark is lost to them. I want to know Ob Nixilis's origins!

I don't know why I even clicked on this thread

Does anyone know if there is a ranking of all Zendikar cards by monetary value somewhere? Would be awesome to know what's worth moneypicking at my next draft (other than fetchlands and foil goblin guides, that is).

Now I feel silly for trading a Bloodghast at the prerelease for a handful of utility commons and uncommons When will I learn not to trade fresh stuff at prereleases?!

Haha, fail! Hehe, I liked the infinite combo with Perlious Forays and Bloodghast that wizards featured a couple weeks ago. That sound like fun. Sack the Bloodghast, get a land, return the Bloodghast. Do what you will with CIP and Landfall combos.

Today I sold the bought-on-a-whim boosters I was carrying around since the prerelease. One of them contained a Lotus Cobra.

*facepalm*

In other news, I'm considering getting into pauper. I quickly tossed together a RG sliver list on MWS and advertised a game as "pauper testing". The following happens:

Wahooney draws 7 cards
Player takes a mulligan
Wahooney takes a mulligan
<Player> kp
<Wahooney> kp
Player plays Mountain from Hand
Player taps Mountain
Player plays Goblin Lackey from Hand
<Player> End my turn
<Wahooney> is that a common?
<System> Player Lost

There are so many jerks on MWS. Writing "serious", "no noobs", "no quitters" etc. only helps a little.
You have to accept that that's part of MWS. I prefer to play against people I know on MWS. On a sidenote I've had good experiences with sealed deck games. Jerks won't bother to generate a sealed pool and construct a deck from it.

Yeah, but they'll bother to enter your game with legacy goblins

EDIT: Turns out the PTQ format this season is Sealed + a draft for the top 8. I'm considering participating just for kicks, but it'd be pretty silly if I accidentally won or something () without knowing what the actual PT's format is. If it's anything at all Constructed, then I'm dropping out.

Still, second place wins a booster box...

Eh, I suppose if by some strange twist of fate I'd do well enough, then I could just concede the final round to get the box and not the invite Still, the entry fee is somewhat more than the typical sealed deck event, which is pretty expensive to begin with

If you reach the final you can just split the prices with your opponent in any way you can agree upon. From the Tournament Rules:

Quote:
Players in the announced last round of the single-elimination portion of a tournament may agree to divide tournament prizes as they wish. In that case, one of the players at each table must agree to drop from the tournament. Players are then awarded prizes according to their resulting ranking. DCI ratings will not be affected because no match will have been played. Such an agreement may never include a concession or an intentional draw.
Example: In the final of a 1-slot Pro Tour Qualifier that offers a travel award and an invitation to the winner, the two finalists may agree to split the tournament prizes, but this agreement cannot alter the results of the match. One player must drop from the tournament, leaving the travel award and the invitation to the player who did not drop from the tournament. That player is then free to split the remainder of the prizes as agreed upon. The travel award and invitation are a single item and may not be split.

If you decide to go it is highly recommended that you get a feel of tournament rules and penalty guidelines if you don't know the already. The rules enforcement level of a PTQ will be "Competitive" if I'm not mistaken. Knowing what that means is valuable.

Announcing: Rise of the eldrazi.

Announcing: Rise of the Eldrazi

 And Carnage Shall Follow

* Rise of the Eldrazi is part of Zendikar block, which means that it will be part of Zendikar Block Constructed. But it's a large set, which means that it will be drafted on its own; drafts will be either Zendikar-Zendikar-Worldwake or Rise of the Eldrazi-Rise of the Eldrazi-Rise of the Eldrazi.

I don't know who the Eldrazi are, but if they are any testament to their Monument, then I love them already. They look like super-powered elemental demons or something. I can't tell if Sorin and Nissa are fighting them or with them, but Sorin and Nissa are fighting back to back. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

But we have to get through Worldwake before we find out what exactly these Eldrazi things are...

So I drafted at an FNM today.

My decklist:

Spells
Kor Hookmaster
Shepherd of the Lost
Pitfall Trap
2x Kor Sanctifiers
Cliff Threader
Journey to Nowhere
Whiplash Trap
Ior Ruin Expedition
Sphinx of Lost Truths
Merfolk Seastalkers
Vampire's Bite
Grim Discovery
2x Guul Draz Vampire
Quest for the Gravelord
2x Surrakar Marauder
Vampire Lacerator
Soul Stair Expedition
Hideous End

Lands

2x Sejiri Refuge
Kagira Crossroads
Soaring Seacliff
3x Plains
3x Island
7x Swamp

Which adds up to 14 creatures, 3 removal spells and 6 other spells.

Overall I did pretty well, tying my first round and winning the second 2:0. The third one, sadly, I lost 2:1. If I won the final round, I'd be in the Top2 and would go home with a neato foil Oblivion Ring.

Upside is, I cracked the BG fetchland.

Seems like the best of Zendi Weenie wrapped up under a little removal and the Sphinx; pretty potent against most other Zendi Sealed decks, and yes, I'd thank a good one that you got a fetchland, since their pricey at the moment.

I might have won the whole thing if I managed to keep the same power but stick to two colors. I lost a game in the final round with four white spells in hand and no plains on board.

EDIT: I had a Bog Tatters to side in against black-playing opponents, but I saw nobody other than myself play the color. You'd think I could've got a mad mono-black deck then.

What were the rest of the cards you drafted? I would definately cut the Grim Discovery since it's bassically just an expensive Raise Dead.
