"Goddamn it Zelgius, You're like a sheep dog trying to rally the herd but barks too loud and too much thus scaring the poor animals away instead."
Sarah complained while being quite astonishes over herself for finding such deep words.

But she didn't plan on staying out here.
"I don't know about you but I ain't stying here, I'll try to catch up with the others" she told Zelgius and started running towards the group.

She got to them just as they entered the Pokemon Center. Once she was inside she smelled that something nice edible was in progress, and hungry as she was she naturally drew to the Kitchen....

Sarah:

You arrive in the kitchen to find a couple trainers busy cooking. One of them appears to be making spaghetti—there’s a pot on the stove and a big bowl of already-cooked noodles sitting next to it. The other is digging through the cupboards, grumbling ingredient names under his breath.

The spaghetti maker hears you come in and greets you:

“Hi! If you’re hungry, there’s spaghetti right here and bowls and silverware over there. Help yourself!”

----------------

Mina:

Mina’s first order of business was to get her team attended to. Unfortunately there was quite a large number of people similarly in need and with the badly injured trainers being given first priority, there was a rather long wait. (Not that Mina objected; several of the people in that category were too hurt to take care of their Pokemon themselves and at least one might not leave the Center alive.)

Most of the unconscious Pokemon had to be sent through the healing machine or left to rest somewhere quiet until they revived on their own. (Mina heard a pair of trainers griping about the Revive shortage and the war—inadvertently answering her own private curiosity as to why none of the Marts they’d encountered so far seemed to carry them. Apparently it was a Helnith-wide thing.) Fortunately there were more than a few helpers and their Pokemon passing out Potions, Antidotes and other such items for the less grievously injured Pokemon, so Mina was at least able to install Sandshrew and Oodramer in a corner with some food while waiting for the rest of her team to be restored to health.

After it was her team’s turn she received an expected bit of bad news.

One of the helpers took Mina aside into an operating room, a grim look on her face. Mina’s Pikachu was lying on her side on one of the tables, sharing it with a dark helmet-like Pokemon with big gold eyes and a Krabby with half of one claw broken off. (It was here Mina learned the Center wasn’t built to accommodate so many trainers at one time, so the rooms were crowded and multiple Pokemon were sharing beds where possible.) The little Electric type’s eyes cracked open on hearing Mina’s voice; the Johto trainer held out her hand to her Pokemon and the latter chu’d softly.

“Your Pikachu’s in bad shape. It’s—”

“She.” Mina correct softly.

“Right, she’s got both her right legs broken and three cracked ribs. She should really stay in intensive care right now but…I know you people might not be able to do that. So I have to tell you not to battle with her for at least a week, or until after you can get her into a Center for intensive treatment.”

“Can you send her to a different Center?” Somewhere safe? went unspoken.

The volunteer nurse shook her head. “Nurse Joy cut the transfer lines once we got Box Storage evacuated—not long after we heard about Stardust. Something about security sending them in automatically, and she didn’t want Bandra to get a hold of them. Well can you blame her?” And Mina, with a bitter twist to her mouth, had to shake her head no.  She’d already seen some of the things Bandra would do to Pokemon. And she didn’t really want to be parted from any of her Pokemon when she knew they were hurt, but…

But she would have been safer somewhere else.

The volunteer nurse talked to her a little longer before going back to her post for the next trainer to receive bad news. Under other circumstances, Mina reflected, she’d almost definitely have gotten a tongue-lashing from the head nurse; the only thing sparing her now was the fact that so many of the Starlight Squad’s Pokemon were in as bad a shape if not worse. It wasn’t comforting at all, and Mina couldn’t help but feel she’d failed her youngest Pokemon.

Mina stayed a little longer to reassure her baby, promised to come back soon, then went to go feed the rest of her team now that they were conscious. Upon returning to the spot she’d left Oodramer and Sandshrew, she discovered somewhat to her confusion that the nearest Pokemon were avoiding hers as if they were plague-ridden.

They’ve never seen Oodramer’s species before? She supposed she could understand; it hadn’t been that long ago that she’d been uneasy around him herself. But it seemed strange that other Pokemon would react that way—none of hers had. And it was about then that Mina noticed Sandshrew had her nose wrinkled up, and Oodramer himself looked quite disgusted.

And then she remembered the fight outside the Shrine.

“Oh Oodramer—I’m so sorry my dear, I forgot all about the Repel!” Mina felt a sudden, insane urge to giggle. It shouldn’t have been funny, but it was. Of course—the smell had dissipated enough that she couldn’t detect it any more, but apparently it was still very unpleasant to Pokemon senses. “I’m sorry love, I’ll get you some soap and water,” she patted him reassuringly, “just hold on!” And she ran off to find a bucket and some cleaning supplies.

"Goddamn it Zelgius, You're like a sheep dog trying to rally the herd but barks too loud and too much thus scaring the poor animals away instead."

Alright, so I'll have to work on that. Zelgius marched into the pokemon center. I guess Cap. did know what he was talking about.

The first thing Zelgius did was not get a pokemon to hypnotize him (Even though he had gotten only one hour of sleep for the last five nights). Instead, he immediately found the most wounded person that wasn't being attended to and helped them to the best of his material's abilities. For some people, his lack of string and a needle for stitches stopped his being able to help others.

Then he saw the critical patient.

Instantly, Zelgius dropped what he was doing and was at the trainer's side. One of the people attending him asked, "What do you think that-"

"Five years of intensive medical training on the field from the military. I've seen things worse then this." Zelgius looked for his bag, then he remembered that he had given it to Misty. "D@mn," He muttered under his breath. From his boot he pulled out a knife and cut the sleeves off of his shirt. The trainers and medical hands could see some scars along his shoulders, many of which looked like they extended farther. "He's bleeding internally. These cuts might look bad on the outside, but if you could see the inside right now... Alright, we need to make incisions here, here and here to keep more of his blood from flooding his lungs and kidneys."

Without waiting for any of the to respond, Zelgius started moving. "You," He pointed at another trainer, "I don't have time for pleasantries, but I need a roll of medical tape, three gauze pads, a pair of gloves for me and everyone around me, a bucket of water and a needle with some string." The trainer and a nurse went to get him his supplies.

Using his torn up sleeves, Zelgius took as much blood away from the places he had pointed at as he could, and then he began to do everything he had to to save the trainer. Zelgius got very little sleep that night.

Misty did what she always would, put her pokemon before herself.  Until every pokemon was up and about, she was helping the Nurse however she could.  Bring things to them, holding pokemon, whatever they wanted her to do.  She blamed herself for the tactical mistakes.

She had been impulsive, again, and the pokemon could have paid the price.  She fed them from the pack given her, those that could eat.  When the nurses had nothing for her to do, she sat by her pokemon..not saying a word.

After eating and taking a bath, Zack distanced himself a bit. He had been all to much involved and he was certain his pokemons were in good hands at the center.

They needed all the rest they could get, he thought to himself.
Finding himself outside, alone in the chilling weather, he felt very peaceful. The latest series of adventures seemed to finally have stopped racing all over his mind.
He was wondering if he should have used this short break to test if the archeokat would acknowledge to him, on the other hand, he would hate to start drawing attention in case something went horribly wrong, especially at such a volunerable time.

In stead of Zack decided he was going to get some rest, as he needed it quite a lot. He could already feel the cozy and soft bed and the thought almost conquered him, making him drift away on the spot, but not now, not yet.

He took out his back pack, he had kept a poor overview of what was in there and he needed to see how many poke balls he actually had left, to his surprise, he had none.
As such, he decided to try and see if he could manage to find some poke balls at this place, asking a bit around and then he finally got some rest.

Christian waved to Elren and the other Starlight members when he met them. He greeted all of them with a friendly smile, and although he wished to give Elren the report about what he had done in Brandra, he would have to wait until Elren was alone. Last time Christian had checked, his mission was top-secret and only the higher ranking members of the squad knew of his mission.
Christian accompanied the Starlight to the centre, helping anyone in need and doing what he could to help the nurses and doctors. Which was not much, and it was not so important that when he saw Elren alone he took a break and went over and sat down besides Elren.

"How'd ya do old man?" Christian smiled as he sat down "I know this is probably useless now, but here is that piece of information I talked about. Heh, although you have no need for it really, you experienced it first hand did you not?" Christian handed Elren the original letter he had recieved in Rieva and gave Elren time to read it.
"...I'm sorry..." Christian finally said after moments of heavy silence "I'm sorry I did not send you the information before, it might have helped you understand what you were up against. I'm sorry that I was not there to help you now that you really needed it. I'm sorry that I have been beaten up so hard that I am completly lost and confused about how I am suppose to make my way to the Brandra base. And I am sorry that I have in truth been enjoying working for the bad guys during the time we attacked Ternai...Please forgive me..." Christian felt like he was about to cry.

Brona had kept mostly to himself after they had bumbed into the other trainers, seeing how the new kid had tried to help as best he could, not knowing it was too late for any advice. When they finally arrived at the center he knew it was going to be a very long wait, as his pokemon were merely knocked out and not very hurt. Even his little Magby were in pretty good condition, considering the others, and would be ok after mostly just resting. He let them all out of their balls and sat with them, doing what he could to help them.

Zelgius had gotten the trainer to the point where he was stable enough to leave in the others' hands. "Thank you, everyone." He told the trainers who had helped him.
Zelgius's headache was throbbing painfully enough to partially blind him. By someone's watch (I assume we have watches) dawn was still four or so hours away. He was moving to find a clear spot on the floor to sleep when he saw Mina again, this time noticing her injuries.

"D@mn, didn't think that I'd have to help the annoying one..." He moved towards her, as no one else was attending Mina.

((OoC Note: added text logs to earlier posts.))

Mina had a lot more difficulty finding a bucket than she’d expected. After asking around, she learned that most of the Center’s supply had gone into transporting hot water for the wounded or cleaning up the blood from same. It was at that point she decided that trying for a tub or a sink might be a better idea: unless somebody had a Pokemon that could tear those out of the walls, they weren’t going to be any good for hauling water, and she reasoned it had been long enough that the nurses would have gotten any use out of them they needed, so she wouldn’t be taking them away from something more critical. So Mina called back her Pokemon to keep them out from underfoot and went in search of the bathrooms.

She was half right: there was a line for the showers and tubs, but they weren’t being put to any emergency use. Some of the uninjured Starlight Squad who looked as grimy as she felt (and probably also looked), and a couple of very bloody volunteers were lined up to take advantage of the chance to clean up while they could. The former kept quiet conversation with each other while the latter were split in half—the first half chatting happily about the wounds they’d treated, the second looking very green, obviously having bowed out of the work after finding their stomachs not up to the task.

(Mina suppressed a spurt of guilt that she hadn’t been doing much since they got to the Center. The selfish and very tired part of her argued that these people hadn’t been dodging patrols and battling Bandra for the last day or so; another corner protested. She promised herself she’d bring the matter up with herself again after getting Oodramer cleaned up.)

With a purely internal sigh, Mina obtained soap and got in line.

Mostly she found herself staring at the wall in a daze, the energy spurt she’d gotten from the group’s arrival wearing off with nothing else to maintain it and nothing to occupy her mind. Not long after her arrival she noticed Zack leave, hair clean and damp. He apparently had thought of this beforehand, and Mina fought a brief surge of irritation with herself that she hadn’t as well. A little while later Mina overheard from two of the volunteer nurses that one of the more seriously wounded wasn’t doing well; she felt enough worry to wonder which it was before her attention faded away into a haze.

A little while later one of the Squad members present shook her awake.

“Hey. There’s a tub open if you want a bath.” He indicated it with his free hand.

It took a moment for Mina to process what he’d said. “Oh. Thanks,” she managed blearily.

She took the time to dunk her head under the spigot and wash the worst of the sand off her head and arms while the tub filled. It revived her somewhat, and Mina held on to wakefulness with grim determination while she washed her Spectral type.

Fortunately it wasn’t as hard as she’d expected: once in the water his body seemed to expel the particles of dirt and sand embedded in it, so Mina could clean him by just pouring water over the unsubmerged portions. This was fortunate as he didn’t seem to like the soap, and a corner of her mind hoped the Spectral type would never be prone to fleas or they would both be in trouble.

By the time she was done there was a layer of dirt and sand along the bottom of the tub and a metallic film over the top of the water—whether from her Pokemon or the Repel, Mina wasn’t sure. She argued mentally with herself on how she was supposed to dry him off, but eventually decided it would never work with his slime body anyway and simply recalled him.

She drained the tub, wobbling a little as she stood. On the way out she belatedly remembered to throw out the ruined Repel can that had caused this dilemma in the first place and almost crashed into a wall afterwards. It was then that she decided that, guilty feelings or no, she was going to sleep. She trudged over to the ward where Pikachu was being kept and rolled out her sleeping bag. Her arm itched; the bandage had gotten wet and was starting to chaff.  She should probably do something about that…

…in the morning…

She rolled over and went to sleep.

((Okay gnome, now she’s available to pester. ))

----------------

Zelgius:

((See my edit in the OoC thread; we might not be staying here until dawn. Your operation isn’t going to take that long however, as you’re going to have help. ))

Enough people standing nearby react to the authority in your tone that the hapless patient is dragged off to an operating table without difficulty. The rest is trickier.

The trainer you sent for supplies comes back in short order with what you asked for. However, you quickly discover the Center has nothing in the way of sedatives or replacement blood—for humans anyway. (This leads to a great deal of unnecessary screaming until someone’s Combee stuffs your patient’s face full of Sweet Scent.) There is plenty of disinfectant on hand however, and lots of people willing to help. One of the latter produces a Togetic with Wish, which is able to partially seal the incisions and stop the bleeding as your surgery progresses. ((As established with Christian, humans don’t heal as fast or as easily as Pokemon do, so the cuts don’t heal completely.))

----------------

Misty:

You spend about an hour fetching and carrying supplies and tending to Pokemon before collapsing from exhaustion.

----------------

Zack:

You are unsuccessful in finding more Pokeballs for the time being (when asked, most trainers just look at you askance). ((This is just a Pokemon Center to help trainers on their way in or out of the Shrine and the mountains. No shop here, sorry. ))

You also find when you look to secure a place to sleep you have to share a room with the people crowded out by the wounded. Fortunately your current status as war hero is sufficient to secure you one of the beds, so you are able to settle down to sleep without issues.

----------------

Christian:

((Err, you realize that letter had nothing to do with the attack on Stardust, right???))

You meet with Elren and his three lieutenants ((Lijan, Sesh, and Dien)) in one of the overnight rooms where the human injured are being placed after treatment (the previous occupants being booted out to accommodate them). This room has been kept relatively private on the Elder’s request so, for the time being at least, you and the Starlight Squad brass are the only ones present.

"...I'm sorry...I'm sorry I did not send you the information before, it might have helped you understand what you were up against. I'm sorry that I was not there to help you now that you really needed it. I'm sorry that I have been beaten up so hard that I am completly lost and confused about how I am suppose to make my way to the Brandra base. And I am sorry that I have in truth been enjoying working for the bad guys during the time we attacked Ternai...Please forgive me..."

“My dear boy.” Elren pats you kindly on the shoulder (as best he can manage with his leg restrained), tone gentle. “The truth is, that’s why we sent you. No amount of acting could get past Kerry and you certainly wouldn’t have managed to fool Aidrelas! It had to be somebody who fit in naturally, who could blend in without Bandra knowing anything was wrong.”

Sesh adds in his aristocratic voice: “Pure heart and strong morals are well and good but some situations call for other requirements.”

“Exactly right.” Elren reassures you. “You’ve already managed to infiltrate higher in the organization than anyone else so far. It’s forced you to do terrible things, and you’ll have to do more terrible things to stay there.

But you are unique. You haven’t lost sight of why you’re doing this. And whatever else you feel, you also feel remorse, which shows that you have a good heart at the bottom of it all.” Elren’s voice turns grave and serious. “There are far, far too many people in this world who would do what you have done out of simple evil-mindedness. Who would give no thought to the consequences to other people, and who wouldn’t even think to ask for forgiveness.”

“That’s what makes you different. And that’s why we need you,” Lijan volunteers, though the sympathetic look he gives you is marred somewhat by the bandages wrapped around his head.

“The rest is easy enough to solve.” Sesh says briskly. “First of all, you will need to take a different route back to Moontear, or else stay hidden for a day or so; if Selene realizes you were in the area at the same time we were, she may get suspicious. And if she figures out you’ve met with us death is the best thing you can hope for.”

“But first things first,” Dien interjects. For once there’s little trace of his usual sour expression—he almost seems happy. “Your coming here will have been a completely unnecessary risk if it’s for nothing. You have information for us?”

----------------

Brona:
((@ wog: Should I slow it down?))

You sit with your Pokemon for a while. One by one they begin to revive, and the helpers passing by at regular intervals are able to supply you with the items necessary to bring them the rest of the way to back full health. All seem happy to be out of the mountains, and Magby crawls up into your arms for a nap.

----------------

Draloed:

((Don’t be. We ARE going a little faster than we usually do.))

You get in line to have your Pokemon healed. During the wait you notice Mina ahead of you, but she doesn’t seem to see you. Someone also passes back a couple of Potions and a Burn Heal with which you are able to tend to Zucruu’s injuries and treat Aron’s Burn. The rest of the wait passes without notable incident until near the end, when you hear minor commotion and the white-dressed man from the ambush shouting something about internal bleeding.

Those were the ones he cared most about, and the members of the Squad seemed to get along alright now with the help they got. He didn't have much knowledge og skill to aid anyway. He patted his growlithe, letting it rest its head in his lap. Rhyhorn was restless due to lack of space to move, so he figured he'd be heading out soon for a walk.

After stuffing herself with spaghetti, Sarah became real tired and started looking for a place to sleep. However space was scarce so she had to look for a place where she could be undisturbed, because she was certainly not going to sleep beside some stranger!

She found a janitor closet(room) that seems to be unoccupied. It was locked with a padlock. So when no one was looking she call out Trapinch to bite the lock. With a powerful bite the little Pokemon manage to crush the padlock so that the door could be opened. Sarah made sure that still nobody was looking and checked that the door was looking acceptable. Only someone really observant and used to this place would notice a difference.

She called Trapinch back and went into the room, pulled out her sleeping bag and went to sleep. She thought about what a strange day it had been, but it didn't take long before she fell asleep.

“Then go away and I’ll take care of myself,” replied Mina, who was not about to take her shirt off for a strange man, much less this strange man.

"Good. By the way," Zelgius grumpily mentioned, "be kinder on your body, you re-opened that wound on your chest only a few hours ago. Just be a little more careful in the future."

Zelgius noticed the bag next to him, picked it up and threw it onto the open spot. He flopped down on top of it, using it as a pillow. Almost instantly, he was asleep.

((I am at a school-PC right now, so I ain't got no letter to post per now. Will edit this post with the full content of the letter later))

"Err..." Christian stood there for a moment, the praising having made him completely forget the letter "OHH Yes! I have a few things. First of all this letter. It contains some...disturbin? information which suggest the Brandra doing experiments on Pokémon. Actually have seen some of these experiments first hand too. They seem to do something with shadowed pokémon and snow, I don't know the details." Christian handed the original version of the letter to the group "Don't worry, you guys can keep it, I made a copy version which should be unnoticable, unless they make it go through a hundred different checks."

As you may have heard, Lionel has been arrested with the reinstatement of Roden. Since then we have been driven out of Hillsbreak and are still running. We may have to give up our foothold in this part of the region if the people of that town are allowed to continue rallying without interference.

Continuing on.

We lost 25% of our Grunt taskforce during the battle at Hillsbreak. A few of them trickle back in from time to time, but most of them were arrested after the fight or caught in the subsequent search. We have also been unable to take the Dewdrop Base despite our best efforts. I had hoped we could make a fresh attempt once Dream left, but no.

In other news, we recently had a Taskmaster and several Grunts report in after they suffered a sound defeat—they have not been forthcoming about the details on who beat them, but I have my suspicions. Of course the presence of those trainers that far from their last reported location means other questions are raised. Regardless, we will be falling back to Neid. I will keep you updated as we prepare the grunts still in the base.

Our Pokemon experiments in the Dewdrop Base were, of course, total losses—only a few packets of notes and a file or two remains. I would have expected the scientists involved to make their way here if they remained undiscovered. But again, no. They have made no attempt to send messages or given any other signs. One or two were in Hillsbreak and arrested there, but those are the only ones we’ve heard of.

Our stock of wild Pokemon for Grunt usage is also dwindling, with only a few unclaimed specimens remaining. We’ve sent some of our remaining forces to obtain more, but with the amount of activity still occurring in town we can only send the most elite. Perhaps as a result, these efforts have met with minimal success; the last Pokemon sweep team captured a total of four. I have ordered the next sweep not to come back until they can bring more in. There seems to be little else we can do about this. Whether we’ve been over-hunting around the base or for some other reason, we appear to be running out of wild Pokemon to use in this area. If that wasn’t enough, my first lieutenant wants to scare more out of hiding with a controlled brush fire. Good lord.

I do wish to inform you we received the last shipment as the transport crew has no doubt already reported. With the previous batch taken care of one way or another, we have been able to focus our attention on the latest. Thanks to Tenma’s research, we have also made some improvements to our newest acquisitions. Most of the rejects have been disposed of, with the exceptions being useful mutations we could find other uses for.

I also have an update for you on our other project. The latest device has survived at pressure exceeding 10,000 psi. The biggest problem has been with replacement parts, as portions of the device cannot take the extreme strain and continue to break. Luckily one of our remaining scientists had a brain wave recently and was able to remodel the device so that excess internal pressure escaped. With this breakthrough, we are confident we will have some more visible results before the next report is due.

So in conclusion, we currently have no idea where those rogue children went off to. The previous batch of experiments have been disposed of or are ready to receive a trainer. The Base is in shambles thanks to the whole mess at Hillsbreak, and we’re going to have trouble getting back on our feet even without any more interference. And that’s all. If anything else report-worthy happens I’ll send an other.

On a more personal note, I am greatly looking forward to receiving Officer Hannah’s assistance with our operations. Preparations for her arrival are proceeding. They should be completed before her arrival, or about the same time as. We will be expecting her in three days’ time as planned.

Officer Baynor.

Christian gave the group some time to read the letter "Secondly I have started making a map of the Brandra base." Christian handed his hand-drawen map to them "I would like to make a copy of it to take with me back if you want to keep it." He let the group study the map for a bit and said "I know it ain't much, but it is something. By the way, do you know where the Brandra HQ is? I guess you do, but dad did not inform me of it before sending me off to Helnith. If not then I got that too...obviously.
Thirdly, do you know anything about some sabotaged choppers? During the Ternai raid the occupation team that was suppose to come with the Helicopters never arrived because of some 'accidents' with the chopper. I assume it was you guys. Also, the leader of team brandra is apperantly just a puppet, or at the very least she does not control the whole thing completly. If it was up to her, I would never have been made part of the organization, but there is this big black bird guy who told her to 'hire' me. His servant also where the one to recruited me, talked about making me immortal and fulfilling my wildest dreams if I served well." Christian shrugged "Mina might remember what the bird's name was, we met him in the Spectral Dimension after all."

Christian turned his head to look everyone in the eyes before ending up with Elren "And that's about it. Mind you the plan was NOT to meet you guys. I was suppose to hook up with some Brandra patrol, but I have not found one yet...Anyway which path do you guys suppose I should take back to the Brandra base?"
