Mark woke up with a yawn and a stretch, rolling to the side as he tried to wake up. His bed helped him, since he was already close to the edge. As he began to fall, Mark tried to catch himself with his left arm... only to realize that he had forgotten to put it back on after the shower. With a thump, Mark landed on his rump. ((OMG, I have wanted to use that rhyme for so long you don't even...))Standing up gingerly, the young man looked around for his prosthetic and, once it was located, began the trial of putting the damn thing back on properly. The magnets and inputs had to line up just so, or he wouldn't be able to do things like move his elbow or clench his fingers.

Brona tries to get around the Murkrows so that he won't draw attention to himself, trying to get close to the edge of town without being visible himself. He had to see if it were under Bandra control or if the town still held some of his old friends and partners.

Stacey:

"We have a boat chartered for the morning. Why are you asking so many questions?"

----------------

Mark:

After several tries, you manage to get the more fiddly bits of your arm hooked up.

----------------

Mina:

Mina awoke several times during the night, once again plagued by nightmares of opening doors. They were stronger than they had been, though Mina wondered how much of that was just from repetition—dread over yet another night's interrupted sleep.

She gave up on sleeping around 6 AM, pulling herself out of bed and leaving the overnight section to retrieve breakfast for herself and her Pokemon. Once her Pokemon were eating, and she had food of her own in front of her, she pulled out her Pokedex and tried to work out the best way to contact her friends without alerting Bandra to where they were.

----------------

Brona:

The Murkrow appear to be wild—or at least, there is no trainer in evidence, and there are more than six of them ((eight total)). The smell of meat and feathers wafts out as the Dark types squabble over whatever-it-is; they don't seem to be paying more than cursory attention to you. You sneak past after a few moments.

But Ternai, when you reach it, is in shambles. The Pokemon Center has been flattened, without so much as a wall still standing. Bandra Grunts are streaming in and out of the Gym, which on top of being battered is liberally sprayed with graffiti. The tower, once relatively quiet, now has an air of malevolence around it you can feel even during the day, and rubble is scattered across town that ranges up to the size of your fist. The whole area of Ternai looks like it went through a flood, with debris washed into the lee of stones and trees and drying puddles leaving cracked patches of mud in their wake.

Brona felt his stomach sink, this had been his best chance to find someone, anyone, on his side. He stumbled back, shocked at what had happened in such a short amount of time. He managed to get back to where he had seen the murkrows, hoping some of the berries would still be there. He desperately needed some food.

Christian grinded his teeth when Verret critted the male zubat, but perhaps it was for the best, he really did not need two of them.
Turning back to his mining kit, he started to look to see if it contained anything else he could use as a light.

Brona:

You make your way back to the Berry patch pit, but looking closer it seems all that it contains is the Murkrow flock and whatever it is they're picking over...wait! There in the corner! Is that a Wepear Berry?

----------------

Christian:

After a moment of digging through the Kit, you find a hardhat at the bottom with a light built into the front. Upon looking for a switch, you find it and flick it on—a beam of illumination shines out.

"Oh. Well we're really busy, so unless you want to help pack, come back some other time. We've got a lot of things we need to get together for the diving trip tomorrow if we're going to find that HM..."

----------------

Brona:

The Murkrow stop their bickering as you get closer, their feathers fluffing up and a hostile glint appearing in their eyes. But they're still enough you can get a clear glimpse of what they're eating:

The eyes are gone, there are holes in the fur, and its hide is liberally spattered with mud. But under it all you can make out red-orange fur and black stripes. Having trained one yourself you can tell it used to be a Growlithe.

----------------

Christian:

((Encounter Roll = 42, 71, 88, 66, 11))
((Mining Roll = 63, 58, 41, 31, 79))

Nearly an hour passes before you run across anything else of note. At one point the radar blips, very faintly, but on closer inspection it turns out to be an old wrapper—probably abandoned by campers, or carried into the cave by a Pokemon mistaking it for food.

But then you turn around a bend and notice something pale in the rockface. It's too smooth to be stone and has an odd blue ring on it...and it moves when the light from your hard hat shines on it.

Wild Dunsparce appeared!

You hear a faint drilling noise from the Pokemon and it backs into the cave wall, preparing to flee.

Dunsparce: 92/92

After reattaching his arm (For some reason that just sounds wrong... ), Mark threw on a random shirt (It says "Kiss me, I'm Jotan" (Pun on the whole "KMII" thing...)) and wandered out for breakfast. He yawned as he entered the meal room of the Pokemon Center. Unfortunately, he had arrived about two hours after Mina (He woke up an hour and a half later and spent ~30 minutes on his arm/ waking up fully), which meant that the girl was most likely no longer there, but he did have something to do. Namely, feeding his hungry little pokemon.

Grabbing himself some milk, a bagel and his magical monster pets some food, Mark flipped open his phone and sent Mina a text. "Good morning~ How are you today?"

Stacey:

"Dive HM. And okay, if you're going to help you can come.  Go check with Stef—he's upstairs—and see if he needs help bringing down the big cooler."

----------------

Mark:

You get a text from Mina after a short while; apparently she's awake and around somewhere.

Mina sent you a message!

Fine. What should we do today?

----------------

Mina:

Mina struggled with the words for far longer than she should have, trying to craft a message that would get her friends and allies back together without bringing their enemies down on them at the same time. At last she noticed Nurse Joy working at the counter and got an idea.

She went over to talk to the nurse, asking her if she knew where the missing members of the group were. She reasoned that if they'd come through, they would have gotten their Pokemon healed if nothing else, and that would at least tell her who was definitely alive.

When asked, the nurse informed her no, she hadn't seen anyone recently (Stacey had apparently left some days prior) but she'd be happy to ask her counterparts at the other Pokemon Centers if they had. Then she explained, to Mina's rising good cheer, that hers wasn't the first group they'd helped reunite after a major attack. Thanking her, Mina gave her names and as detailed descriptions as she could of the relevant party members, including Pokemon trained. Once she'd done that she sat back down with her Pokedex, texting:

~All party members check in at your nearest friendly Pokemon Center. Speak with Nurse Joy. Coordinate from there.~

((NOTE TO PLAYERS: Everyone but Mark is at least a day behind, so most of you won't be getting Mina's text for a while yet.))

It was not perfect; it still left the possibility that some Bandra agent had gotten a hold of one of the group's Pokedex, stolen their Pokemon and disguised themselves as the group member in question. But given that they hadn't had anything planned out beforehand, Mina didn't think there was a perfect solution; she would just have to take the risks. At least the Pokemon Centers generally had video phones; they could call each other on the 'dexes, but having a picture meant it would be that much more difficult for Bandra to masquerade as one of them.

Stomach now knotted up with a mix of tension, excitement and worry, Mina hovered over her Pokedex for a solid five minutes before it occurred to her she ought to do something productive instead. It was, after all, still early, and most of the group had a terrible track record when it came to using their Pokedexes for communication.

She considered getting Magikarp out for a little training and even got her out of the Box system ((swap for Sandshrew)) and wandered outside to do it—but found she kept checking her Pokedex for messages and decided she wasn't focused enough to do that just yet. So she made a virtue out of her nervous tension and spent her time looking up the Pokemon Mark had showed her at dinner.  She'd found the Gallade in the 'dex—

So that's what the Dawn Stone is for. Wait, there are Psychic/Fighting types? Useful; both for the ever-present Geodude and in general for Dark types...

—and was just wondering if there were any Helnith Pokemon that evolved the same way when she got Mark's text.

Dunsparce became drowsy!

Wild Dunsparce fled!

You find yourself staring at an empty hole in the wall.

Stacey:

You help Stef with the cooler and are quickly press-ganged into loading other miscellaneous items onto the growing pile. Stef proves to be a cheerful chatterbox of a person, pelting you with questions as you work: are you a member of the Geology Club, have you considered joining, do you have any fossil Pokemon, which is your favorite, etc...during that process you find out a little background information from him in turn:

Apparently, the Geology Club used to be based in a town called Greshil, on the western coast, but Bandra took the town. The Club members remaining eventually relocated to Tidepath, but haven't been successful in finding any place to dig, the island being largely inhabited...but recently one member of the club had the bright idea of trying to dig underwater, and so the Club ordered the HM. But most unfortunately, Bandra struck again, sinking the boat with the HM on it, and leaving the Geology Club in the sticky situation of having to Dive to get Dive. It wasn't until the city was freed that they could find a boat to charter that had Pokemon to Dive with.
It's two hours ((9 PM)) before the members of the Geology Club pronounce themselves prepared. The single-minded man you'd spoken with earlier bids you good night, and tells you to be back by 8 AM tomorrow if you still want to come on the expedition.

----------------

Mark and Mina:

Mina texted back.

~We can, but sooner or later we're going to need to find some real people to battle against.~ Theory was good, but eventually they were going to need to put it into practice. ~We should also find a way to earn some money.~

----------------

Christian:

((Encounter Roll = 88))
((Mining Roll = 27))

Not long after your encounter with the Dunsparce, the radar begins to ping. You locate the spot in the wall:

Stacey smiles as she leaves man, and heads for the pokemon center. The time will certainly go beyond the low tide period, but she was still willing to wait in getting the spice box back to Charlie. Though, she was hoping it didn't take too long.

As she got to the center, and then to her room, she was feeling the effects of the work she was doing, helping the Geology Club. She was feeling rather exhausted. She set her alarm, removed her outerwear, fell upon the bed, and was out shortly after. Mona shook off the shirt Stacey had placed upon her head unawares, then joined in on the sleep session.

The alarm was set for six. Stacey slept around ten minutes more than that, then managed to rise. Stretches were the initial part of the day, to get ready for what might happen later on. After that, she get into some clothing. She thought about her new outfit, but decided to save that one for later. Instead, she put on the older one she hadn't worn the day before. That done, she finished her morning routine, got something from the center's breakfast selection for her and her pokemon, and then she set out for the Geology Club.
