Aidrelas attempts to use Domination on Growlithe! ((roll=23))
Aidrelas is fully paralyzed!
Pikachu uses Thundershock!
Aidrelas is hit for 9 points of damage!
It's super effective!
Rattata uses Focus Energy!
Rattata is getting pumped!
Growlithe uses Flame Wheel!

Christian:
As you sit idle inside of your cage in the middle of nowhere, you notice a mysterious shape move towards you. It quickly introduces itself:
"My name is Kreiznrak, and I come on behalf of Aidrelas. He sees great potential in you, unlike the other goody two-shoes that are your traveling companions. He wants you to join Team Bandra in its efforts to control the region. I am bound and cannot explain myself clearer than this. Know that he rewards his followers well."
As if to illustrate the point, he lets out a resounding shout and morphs into a human-like form and continues:
"He gave me the gift of immortality."
He stares at you for several seconds and then gives you a black gem, saying:
"Once you have made your choice, say it aloud and I will return. Choose wisely."
He disappears into the void and leaves you to think on the offer.

Draloed:
The Elder looks at you, asking his name. After getting your answer, he closes his eyes for a second and starts:
"He is Kreiznrak, one of the Ancients. You see, young one, long ago humans played a more active role in wars than just using Pokémon as their soldiers. In this particular war, humanity split itself in two. One side favored Salerdia and the other side favored Aidrelas. As Pokémon fought on either side, so did the humans, and in the end the region was devastated. For reasons as of yet unknown, Aidrelas conceded the war at a critical battle, and left this dimension. Having claimed victory, Salerdia gave her followers the Mark of Light..."
The Elder took out a second medallion and said:
"Exactly like this one and the one now on the floor."
Your Zubat brings you the medallion as the Elder continues:
"No, I am not immortal. This has been passed down my family for hundred of years. The one you hold last belonged to the son of Elder Solan, who was none other than Selene's fianceé. After his son's death, Solan gave me the medallion and said to give it to a worthy Trainer. I think I have found him."
He smiles and says:
"Wear it proudly, for it shall protect you in your times of need."
Dream looks at you and comments:
"How come I don't get one?"
The Elder chuckles and states:
"On top of being part of the Elite Four and one of the best Trainers this region has ever known, you want a Mark of Light? You're not the type Salerdia would've given one to anyways."
Dream smirks and retorts:
"You're probably right. I still want one though."

“Great job, little girl! Thundershock again!”
We’re not going to win if all we can do is chip away at his health like this. Mina frowned thoughtfully, considering her earlier plan. I could try that—it’d be riskier without Christian’s Tyrogue— Mina’s gut churned with failure at that thought, but she mentally plowed onward —but we’re not exactly in safe territory at the moment anyway.
Something else occurred to her. But that won’t work in any case; we tried escaping once and he just dragged us back here. What to do? Mina glanced furtively around the courtyard, looking for anything they could use to their advantage.
((What are our surroundings like winter? Three doors into the castle, the door into the courtyard, red grass…what else?))

Christian looked at the figure and heard what he had to say and nodded. The figure disappeared and Christian sat down on the floor and leaned against the wall before starting thinking over how he ended up here.
"Ok, this all started with the damn letter, telling me to come here to help the people here against Team Brandra." Christian thought.
"Then I was taken to that island, got to know what this all was about, then sent out to help that other group of 'pokémon-trainers-fighting-for-the-greater-good-against-team-brandra'."
"I meet a caravan of traders, helped them out with a Slakoth, which I captured, before I traveled with them to the city those other guys were. There I meet up with that group, after entering a tournament."
"In that tournament I managed to get to the semi- or final final, before losing to that girl...what was here name? Misa, Mira, Mila, Mina...Anyway that girl!" Christian thought.
"I also ended up with Scyther because I participated. Then Team Brandra attacked, we kicked their sorry arses before getting into that spectral dimension."
"There in the spectral dimension, we meet some pokémon, went to the firelords castle, fought a bird which I laid to sleep. Ran around, I fought some kadabras, then suddenly we were in that room facing the bird again and then..."
"...then I ended up here." Christian's thoughts stopped.
Then a thought suddenly hit him.
"You said that you saw that I was not like the others?" He said "How did you 'see' that? Can you read my mind or something?"
Christian waited to see if there were any respons.

Aidrelas looks at the group and at the still shining sky and remarks:
"It's over..."

Aidrelas starts glowing black! ((roll = 77))
The sunlight faded!
Aidrelas uses Shadow Curse!
ALL non-Spectral Pokémon are Shadowed instantly!
As he utters the words to what seems like a forbidden spell, all of your Pokéballs open suddenly and your Pokémon are consumed by darkness. (())
Fate, Dove, Spencer and Zorpaleus arrive just in time to see their own Pokémon suffer the same fate.
The giant bird laughs maniacally and snorts:
"Let's see you defeat me now!"
A crisp sound, like the piercing cry of a falcon can be heard in the distance.
Aidrelas looks around and says:
"NO! I need more time! I will not be denied my victory!"
Zorpaleus is as shocked as Aidrelas as he grows silent. Suddenly, he states, cryptically:
"We just need to hold him here a while longer."
Fate asks a question visibly on the mind of the Helnith trio:
"How are we going to beat him if we can't even control our own Pokémon?"
Zorpaleus smiles and says, with a hint of amusement:
"I never said it was going to be easy..."
Zorpaleus charges into battle!
Croconaw ignores its Trainer's orders!
Bayleef ignores its Trainer's orders!
Sandslash ignores its Trainer's orders!
Growlithe ignores Misty's orders! ((roll = 43))
Growlithe charges madly into Aidrelas!
Aidrelas is hit for 10 points of damage!
Growlithe suffers 3 points of recoil damage!
Pikachu ignores Mina's orders! ((roll - 17))
Pikachu uses Thunder Wave instead!
Aidrelas is already paralyzed!
Rattata obeys Stacey! ((roll - 51))
Rattata uses Bite!
Critical hit!
Aidrelas is hit for 14 points of damage!

Christian:
The area around the cage remains silent, as does the black gem, as you quietly recollect on your adventures thus far.
Suddenly, Kreiznrak returns and asks:
"Does this mean you have made a decision?"
He then answers your question:
"I don't know what he sees in you, but he doesn't read minds. He can perceive emotions though.
He stands silent, waiting...

Draloed:
You head over to the Pokémon Center and then to the Gym.
You knock on the door and notice that it is already open.
A booming voice echoes throughout the building:
"Who comes into this Gym at such a time?"
As you move deeper into the Gym, you notice that there are rocks and plants everywhere. Suddenly, you see a girl, about 16 years old, move in your direction. She's wearing a dark green fighting uniform and a headband. As she starts talking again, you recognize the booming voice, obviously restrained now that you're in talking distance.
She waits for you to answer her initial question.

Misty glares at fate and simply replies. "No matter the odds, we have to try. We have to reach our pokemon somehow. They are still in there, somewhere. No shadow, nor darkness, nor evil can keep us from reaching them. I just know it."
"Mina..isn't one of yours immune?! They are all out now!" Misty suddenly remembers.
"Growlithe. You have to listen to me. I know it's hard, and I know its dark where you are, but you have to listen. You can make it light again. I know you can do it. Use Sunny Day!"
"Stripes, you are my best friend. That thing wants to hurt me, please..you have to use headbutt. Please!"
"Evan use helping hand with Hedge. Hedge Scratch that thing! I know you two can do it!"
"Ditto, transform into Growlithe! I know you can. We need your help!"

Mina snapped her mouth shut mid-command. "I know, Misty!" We REALLY need to have a strategy session later...
To Zorepaleus, she responded, "Keep him here, you said?" Now doesn't that sound familiar... "Okay then. Pidgey return!"
Mina straightened, and tried to inject as much authority into her voice as possible. And it was hard, much harder than it should have been, because every time she caught sight of the soulless, empty look in her Pokemons' eyes, she felt her throat tighten and her eyes start to burn. But she covered the sentiment as best she could.
"Houndour, Bite. Sandshrew, Scratch." It really was a pity she didn't know any Rock type moves. "Pikachu--" a thought occurred to Mina and she pulled her Pokedex out "--Thundershock."
Then more quietly, in her usual tones, she said to her Spectral type.
"Oodramer my dear, we're depending on you. Bubblebeam!"
Then typing furiously, she detailed out a quick text to Stacey and hit 'Send'. It read:
~Can you try for a Rock Throw with Slugma?~

Stacey was glad Rattata had actually listened to her. She was partially expecting disobediance, as the others had shown.
"Rattata,...!"
Mina's text comes in, interrupting Stacey.
~Can you try for a Rock Throw with Slugma?~
Stacey replies to this, saying, ~I'll give it a shot.~
"...return! Slugma, come on out and use Rock Throw!"

Aidrelas closes his eyes!
All Shadowed Pokémon come under his control!
"Like I said a mere moment ago..."
He glares at the party and finishes his thought:
"This battle is...ov..."
Suddenly, a piercing, feminine voice comes from the sky:
"Not now, brother!!"
Salerdia uses Sacred Paradise!
The shadows are banished from the area!
All Pokémon are unshadowed instantly!
Aidrelas looks at the now shining sky and stares at his sister. In a disgusted tone he spits out:
"How dare you enter MY realm?"
Salerdia spits back:
"This is NOT your realm, brother! This is the Land of Emotion and you corrupted it for your own selfish desires!"
Aidrelas stares at the party, then at the sky, then at Salerdia. Salerdia then says:
"This battle is over! I have to end this now!"
Aidrelas then says:
"Never!"
Aidrelas attempts to rip a hole in the fabric of time!
Salerdia uses Sky Attack!
Salerdia slams into Aidrelas!
Aidrelas is hit for 98 points of damage!
The hole in time opens!
Aidrelas uses Teleport!
Aidrelas vanishes into the hole!
Salerdia attempts to give chase, but the hole closes before she can reach it.
Salerdia sings a Song of Life!
Rain starts falling from the sky!
All allied Pokémon are fully healed!
The majestic bird, you quickly find out is as white as Aidrelas was black. She looks at Zorpaleus and says:
"Hello there my champion."
Zorpaleus appears to shuffle nervously under the title and quickly answers:
"I did nothing my Lady."
Salerdia giggles and retorts:
"On the contrary my dear friend, you helped me beat back Aidrelas."
She then turns towards the group and adds:
"And so did all of you."
Fate then brings up a question:
"Why couldn't you just enter the battle earlier?"
Salerdia turns to Fate and answers:
"Thanks for the indirect vote of confidence, but my brother and I are equals in power. Had I intervened any sooner, I ran the risk of being beaten by him."
Fate erupts with anger and retorts violently:
"So you'd rather let US get wiped out? Some guardian of humanity you are!"
Zorpaleus says:
"Stay your tongue!"
Salerdia then calms Zorpaleus and tells Fate:
"Your mind is troubled by things you can't control. And one thing you can."
She takes a look at Dove and then looks back at Fate:
"Don't blame me for your own fears."
Fate remains silent.
((Talk to the big birdie!! ))

Draloed:
The girl smirks and says, in a calm tone:
"My name is Pellana. Most just call me Ana though."
She then sizes you up and adds:
"If you really wish to, why not? It's been a while since I've battled myself."
Pellana leaves the room and heads back a moment later with a belt with three Pokéballs. She straps the belt on and says:
"Prepare yourself!"
Pellana sends out Hitmonlee!

Christian:
Kreiznrak nods.
Suddenly, everything goes black.
A second later you find yourself inside of another cell. However, this cell was guarded by a Bandra Grunt, who quickly lets you out and escorts you to another room.
You quickly see the familiar face of Selene as she turns around and asks the grunt:
"New recruit?"
The grunt nods as Selene motions for him to leave the room.
The room itself is furnished with the trappings of a home. Bookshelves line the west wall and there is a bed on the east wall. Selene sits in the middle of the room, behind a desk.
She looks at you and scratches her head absent-mindedly, before saying:
"Well, he did say that he saw something in you."
She waves off her own comment and then hands you a uniform. She then declares:
"Welcome to Team Bandra, Officer Christian!"
((You're free to ask her stuff now. ))

Mina gave her team a brief once-over, stalling for time to reinforce her composure. Only then did she speak up.
“All right then,” Mina still seemed a bit shaken, but her tone was oddly distant and cool. “So where have you been for the last five years?”
The girl from Johto reasoned she should be happy to see Salerdia; it was the goal they’d been given at the start of this whole mess, and the Legendary had just chased her brother off. But she wasn’t, and she had to concentrate to keep the accusation out of her voice. Privately, she agreed with Fate.

Mina:
Salerdia looks at you and sighs. Then she starts:
"First of all, you shouldn't try to hide your emotions from me. It does you no good."
Then in a sad tone she continues:
"For most of those 5 years? Captured, actually. Seeing as how Aidrelas didn't want to destroy me, he did the next best thing which was keep me imprisoned in his fortress, far to the west of here."
She pauses to allow this to sink in:
"I couldn't do much, trapped in this corrupted dimension. I'll admit that this...shadow sickness almost defeated me at one point, but I couldn't just give in."
Fate blurts out:
"This doesn't excuse you from..."
His argument becomes more and more irrational, as suddenly he drops to his knees clutching his chest in pain.
Salerdia looks back urgently at Fate and says:
"Fight it! Don't submit to the fear and hatred in your heart!"
A black shroud starts to permeate from Fate, as if his own emotions were coming to life.
Dove looks at Salerdia and pleads:
"Do something!"
Salerdia looks at Fate and says, in a sad tone:
"I can do nothing. Either he destroys the darkness within or he is consumed by it."
A few tense moments pass, until suddenly Fate lets out a high-pitched scream and the black aura suddenly dissipates.
He rises from the floor, but you can tell something is wrong. Dove isn't so quick to figure it out:
"What's wrong Fate?"
Dove touches Fate and he backhands her fiercely to the ground (()).
Spencer then looks at Fate and says:
"What is wrong with you?"
Fate looks at the group. His physical appearance is unchanged, but you quickly realize that his eyes radiate pure hatred. He sends out all of his Pokémon and says:
"Destroy them all!"
They disobey him in quick order, as Fate attempts to coerce them into obeying. Spencer tackles Fate and takes his Pokéballs.
"Pokémon return!"
The Pokémon return to their Pokéballs as Fate is left without a means of attack...
((Oh boy... ))

The girl stares in disbelief until she realizes:
"What a type mismatch. Nice move there."

"On the other hand," she says smiling, "that wasn't the best choice of move either."

"What's wrong Fate?"
Mina’s first clue that Fate had lost his internal battle was her Pokemon; her entire team had its collective hackles up, fur and feathers standing on end for those Pokemon that had them. Houndour had taken an aggressive stance between her and Fate, and something about the look in the Fire type’s eyes struck a familiar chord with Mina. She’d seen that look, she knew she had…it hadn’t been long ago…certainly within the past day…
"What is wrong with you?"
Mina’s eyes went wide with horror as she remembered just where she’d seen that look last, and directed at who.
"Destroy them all!"
Houndour growled and Pidgey bristled; Fate’s Sandshrew and Croconaw skittered away to either side, ignoring their trainer. Spencer tackled Fate to the ground and disarmed him while Mina thought furiously. There was only one thing to do.
“Spencer, move.” Mina ordered. “Pikachu, Thunder Wave.”
