why should the toughest creature necessarily be the azure dragon?
if the toughest creature in H3 was pikachu, would you like pikachu as the toughest creature in H5?

Quote: The main issue I have with the project is that there is no satisfactory architecture in place that would allow distributed creation of creatures, and yet centralized information and download. What I'd like is to have a repository, to avoid some creatures becoming unavailable with time, but at the same time let authors have complete control over their files.
Additionally, as I discussed with Gnoll_Mage some time ago, it would be great if there could be a desktop client to directly import the creatures into the game: in other words, a desktop GUI to a web service.
Sadly, I won't have the time to develop those tools in the near future, but that would really be a great project to work on, for a web developer, so I'll keep it in my todo list.
I am sorry that I never finished that project, it's really annoying that I had the will, mental capacity and time to do it, but still haven't been able to get it done. I'll happily give what I've done to anyone who wants it (written in Visual Studio 2008, in Visual Basic), although it will almost certainly be useless, since it's such a mess.
@TSoD: how are you intending to make an NCF-creature-making program? I suppose certain basic elements are the same, but I would have thought that they are too complicated to write such a program. Not sure how it would work, anyway.

Much Much time is more appropriated
Musch effort : yes
Much knowledge : not necessary, if the passion is there
Much passion : yes yes and yes
It's quite simple, in fact, to create this program in Visual C++ 2008 (Sorry I heard of it, but I didn't learn VBasic, I preffered a language that was newer)
It use the Streams ("flux") in TXT files. Then I only have to collect all the informations of the user who wants to make a creature. Next I put all these informations in xdb files, with the correct tags (<CreatureTier>...</CreatureTier> and so on). Its simple I find... but it requires much much time. And with the school, and all muy activities, I 'm too busy at the moment.
And also I haven't got my work back yet ;(
I don't want to re-begin the whole program ! (I spent min. 30 hours on it !)

He kinda looks like Arthas with that hood you know?
That head on a melee unit would pwn everything this game has to offer... unfortunately we don't actually have a body which would provide the necessary awesomeness to host the head.
