LA DÉCIMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So **** happy to see Madrid win the Champions after twelve friggin years, took so long!
Edit: And I must say it, RM deserved the victory, Atletico didn't. Dirty fouls, one lucky goal and parking the bus, it would've been a shame if the had won it.
____________
Costa (36), Llorente (18), Negredo (23), Torres (11), Villa (15), Soldado (11).
Who goes to the WC? Yes, an injured Costa, Torres and Villa. Both Torres and Villa had awful seasons (and it isn't Torres first bad one), they simply don't deserve to be there. Jesus christ, just look at what he failed yesterday
Also, Navas out? Navas was fantastic in 2010 WC final, I don't understand why leaving him out when he can be such an important revulsive.
And Juanfran over Carvajal...don't get me wrong, Juanfran had a good season at Atletico and it's more experienced, but Carvajal has been waaay better than him, on his first season on Real Madrid (and this isn't an easy feat).
____________
As far as I know Navas is injured and that's why he's not going, VdB normally rates him very highly. As for Torres and Villa, they're both very experienced at this stage, I doubt Torres would try to chip the keeper if that chance came to him in an actual game. Llorente hasn't really played with the Spain team and hasn't impressed when he has done, while Negredo's form has been atrocious since Christmas. As for Juanfran vs. Carvajal, from what I can see Del Bosque normally likes his right backs to be more defensive, I expect Azpilicueta to start in any case.

He recuperated (or whatever the right word is) earlier this week. And the injury can't be an excuse. J. Navas isn't the player that would start the game, he is effectively used as a revulsive, usually getting in the pitch during the second half (on Spain).
Costa is injured (and still for over a week) and it's going too.

Tell me for what on earth their experience will help Spain to score goals, because I don't see it.
And it's not like Llorente was a 17 yo player on his first big national tournament, he already was in 2010 WC and Euro 2012, and did pretty damn well on the match against Paraguay. He has as much experience as needed.

YEAH NO! HE WOULDN'T WASTE THE CHANCE, NO WAY!
Please give me a break

He played a great match against Paraguay in South Africa. Besides, what's important about Llorente is the fact he offers Spain something different, he may not excel with the Titi-taka, but he is one of the very few players in Spain that can make headers (for instance with crosses from, I don't know, Navas) and can help to break teams that park the bus. He isn't supposed to play all games, but help on a few were Spain normaly struggles.
On the other hand, Torres and Villa doesn't really offer something different from Costa...

I do agree here, but Torres & Villa haven't been great either.

On the last part of the season Carvajal has improved a lot on this aspect, just look at Bayern or Atletico's games.

Don't know, maybe he thinks Pedro can fill that role of a fast player who dribbles and comes on as an impact sub, I was expecting Navas to go as well, in place of one of Mata, Silva or Cazorla, but Del Bosque had to have had his reasons for not taking him.
Quote:YEAH NO! HE WOULDN'T WASTE THE CHANCE, NO WAY!
That was 3 years ago, hardly relevant to his form today, and everyone has had terrible misses in their careers.
Quote:but he is one of the very few players in Spain that can make headers
Oh come on, Torres is a beast at headers, he's just as good as Llorente. Not to mention they don't cross the ball that much, so it won't be something that's missing from their game. And I think a player needs a better resume to play for Spain then "had a really good game against Paraguay".
Quote:I do agree here, but Torres & Villa haven't been great either.
Yeah, still better though. And even if they're on par, Negredo has far less experience with the Spain NT than Torres and Villa.

Don't get me wrong, I think Carvajal is good too, but Juanfran is also a great player and Del Bosque likes experience over youth, so there you go. I think arguments can be made for both to go.
