Today you can watch the new offensive power in Europe...watch Bayern vs Fiorentina.

Ribbery, Robben, Gomez, Olic....and Klose behind...

One the other side, Fiorentina cannot rely on Mutu, arguably their best striker. He's suspended for being spotted taking drugs... again. How can one be so talented but so stupid?

Anyway, Bayern all the way. Although the games between the two teams were tight last year, IIRC.

In the other game, I really don't know what to say. I'd say Arsenal will qualify, but in this leg Porto will prevail.

Nice summary Zam.  In that United-Milan game Fletcher was unopposed for his crossing.  This was especially obvious on Rooney's second goal.  Ronaldinho made some excellent passes and I thought Ferdinand should have been carded for tripping him in the box.

Today Fabianski had a really bad game.  He was the difference but neither Arsenal nor Porto looked too good.

The Bayern game wasn't shown here but in the highlights I saw Bayern looked much superior.

IMHO Fiorentina did not deserve loss.
They played quiet good and 1-1 would have been fair result but terrible referee's mistake made it 2-1.

I watched Bayern vs Fiorentina, and I think both teams looked pretty bad. Ok, Fiorentina was not really aiming to attack in the away leg, but Bayern really didn't impressed me. Klose's goal came after a ridiculous referee decision.

I saw only the goals in Porto-Arsenal, but they were pretty stupid.

For me, the D-Day comes today, with Liverpool facing Romanian champions Unirea Urziceni on Anfield. This will be the one occasion when I'll be happy for a Liverpool defeat.

Oh, Fiorentina deserved the loss alright, it's just that the actual goal was none.
Still, that attempted murder by Gobbi... I mean, I don't understand players like that. If I was a boss at Fiorentina, I'd fine the guy heavily. If you see red for a something tactical, emergency actions and so on - ok.
But an elbow check to the throat? At the sideline? When the ball is out?
So if a team loses a player for that kind of undisciplined behavior, it deserves the loss, even if only to teach a lesson.

David Beckham tore his achilles in Milan's win today.  He will not be going to the world cup.  With Aaron Lennon also injured England are left with Shaun Wright-Phillips and Theo Walcott to provide invention from the right.

"This Barcelona team is the best I have faced because they play at a higher pace collectively. And I don't think we have ever been dominated so much at home. We are used to having the ball. I think there was the psychological influence of us being so used to having the ball and suddenly not to have the ball – certainly the impression was deeper on the players than it should have been."

One the other hand some Barcelona person whose name I forgot () said that they played "like once in a lifetime" in the first half.

I hope Arsenal will win it, but slim chances.

Great performance by Barcelona and Lionel Messi but I still think it would have been a different match if Arsenal had players like Fabregas,Gallas, van Persie or Arshavin available.
I'm really curious about how Man.United will do against Bayern Munchen without Wayne Rooney tommorow.

They had in the first match, afaik, but Barcelona played very well, at least in the beginning there.

Bendtner should at least have made 2-3 goals, those two heading attempts should have been goals, in my opinion, not good enough.

Had Arsenal been a bit more effective, it could have been another 4-4 silvestre match, but on the other hand Barcelona did, in my opinion, deserve the win.

Messi did not really impress me, he ruined his own hatrick by scoring too many goals. Nice of him to be soo effective, but beautiful play and effective play is the difference of Rosenborg BK and Real Madrid.

Also I hope inter milano can take the title, not because I like, or dislike them, but because I think it's their "turn" now.

I didn't watch yesterday match, but when I read news today it even not surprised me - 4 goals from Messi - it soon can became standard lol.

Inter Milano have for many season, in my opinion, have had a team of sufficient quality to win the CL if one compares it to other CL winners.

However those times they dissapointed and didn't even went as far as much weaker teams.

Lyon, on the contrary, is a rather 'new' team on the international field of champions league top dog, they do have a team of sufficient quality, but they haven't had such a team for long enough time, nor the same level of bad luck, which gives me the feeling it is their turn.

It's just feelings however, don't expect any kind of rationality behind it, because feelings are build up equally upon experience no matter reflection provided upon those.
