I'm not commenting on BATE and Zenit cause the games just ended, but... I have bet everything I had in my pocket on Dynamo Kyiv. They need to win or they're out, and they will - at the very least - not lose tonight. To me, the fact that Kyiv won't lose tonight is even a safer bet than Arsenal, Bayern, or Barcelona winning

Also, I agree with a victory for Chelsea @ Tel-Aviv, but.... I don't know why, but I feel that this will be a game with 4-7 goals, not just 1. I also have a feeling that the Israeli will score, too (who doesn't against nowadays' Chelsea??)

And also, just like you, I foresee a positive result for Gent, not because the belgian team is something out of the ordinary, but because Lyon has been mediocre this season in CL. I really don't get those guys...

Very interesting situation between Porto, Chelsea and D. Kiev.

And I am not that surprised about Gent either, Lyon's prime has passed.

well, what you know about that! Kyiv DID win, and Chelsea's game did end up with at least 4 goals scored, just like I said they would...

Also, Gent won @ Lyon. I never liked French football and teams anyway, but now I'm even more pissed off. I lost 2 betting slips on Lyon. All they had to do is freakin TIE Gent, but nooo! They lost even to the worst team in their group. The hell with French football. I really don't know why everyone says Frenchman know how to play football, cause in 25 years of watching football I've never seen french doing anything good on the pitch. Not even in 2008 when they won the WC....

Nah... I don't like them (I never did, and never will). Hagi was much better player (skill-wise) than any other Frenchman. Unfortunately, the Romanian came from a small eastern country, and usually Eastern countries are not very well seen by the Western ones because of the Communist Regime they've had.

I'll take Hagi over Zidane, Henry, Gires, or Platini at any time of the day and night. Hell! I'll take Hagi even over Maradona, although Maradona did impress me with his skill.

Maradona was a doper and a cheat so I rate Zidane and Henry higher.
I am surprised however that Lyon became such a mediocre side but then again so have Inter and AC Milan.

1) don't worry, I've seen Henry cheat, as well when he played for Arsenal he dived in the penalty box for a penalty. Even the commentators said that that was not Henry-like and it will look bad on his resume. With that aside (and speaking exclusively skill-wise Henry and Zidane combined were not even a close match to Maradona). I lived to see all these 3 players and not just in a couple of games, but in many games, and what Maradona was doing with the ball on the pitch has only been matched (and exceeded) by Ronladinho, not by Rivaldo, not by Ronaldo, not by Zidane, not by Messi, not by CR, not by, Henry, and not by anybody else (yes, not even by Hagi, although I still like to say that Hagi was better than Maradona because he's from my country, so I'm a bit biased )

2) well, since I never liked french football I can't say that I'm surprised that Lyon became mediocre. On the contrary, I was surprised in 2005-2007 when they put up a good performance (probably the best in their history).

3) don't remind me of my (then) AC Milan. I still mourn the times (2000-2007) when Milan (and Juve, and italians in general) would thrash Barca, Real, Bayern, and Man Utd home and away. As corrupt, evil, and whatever else you want to call Berlusconi, as good he was in putting together a team that knows how to play football. Since he got his hands off Milan the club went into mediocrity. And to this very day I keep saying to everyone that a team with Maldini, Nesta, Serginho, Rui Costa, Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Inzaghi, and Shevchenko (good ol' times...) would absolutely destroy Pep's Bayern, and nowaday's Barcelona. Too bad we can't never witness that, I would absolutely bet all my money on Milan in each encounter they'd have with any of today's giants.

Van Gaal needs time to implement his tactics at a club so Florentino would probably fire him atleast 3 times before his ideas would stick.
Not to mention that he comes from the Ajax/Barca school and that would be the ultimate humiliation at Real.

Benitez is however the coach I feel ManU deserve. Not that what they got now is any better but hey, it can only get better.

My idea was that the French national team had success, while the league competition was never the strongest or even in top 3 in Europe, even top 5 is debatable to me. And now PSG is about the only team that matters, as Lyon did before.

While the Italians' national team was world champion surprinsingly when Juventus were relegated for match fixing. And that is I suspect because the best Italians usually remained in Serie A still, mainly at Juventus and Milan, while the French went to Premiership, Primera Division or Bundesliga.

Unfortunately, I am an Internazionale fan after much indecision.

Also, I feel bad for Mircea Lucescu this time. That goalkeeper was on Saturn.

I don't know if Man U belongs in the EL or not, but I wish Arsenal went down in the CL round of 16 to a first place team than in the EL...

City and Sevilla fail to impress in the CL even if City have such an expensive squad, while Juventus had a poor start to Serie A. Props to B. Monchengladbach.

And the best player ever is still a subjective debate. I only wish I could see Diego, but I take monere's word. And Ronaldinho had HUGE skill, no one doubts that.

Arsenal need to beat Olympiacos by either 2 goals OR win with at least 3 goals scored. THat's...interesting, huh

Ugh don't remind me... with both Sanchez and Cazorla out I don't know how Wenger is planning to pull this one off. The Arsenal curse of everyone being injured at the same time has come again this year.
It doesn't seem like loaning Gnarby,Akpom and Sanogo was such a bright ide after all. Now there are no young talents left on the bench to bail them out.
