I'm using latest 3.45f version of HD mod. I read thru some of these pages but couldn't find anyone having the same issues I'm having.
The main problem is I've started getting random crashes using HD mod when visiting objects like keymaster colored tents and this last game just crashed twice in a row. First time I visited the water wheel and 2nd time I went into the sanctuary. But all of it's random. I reload the same game and repeat same steps and no crash.
Also I saw mention that GDI is the old setting for 32 bit. I tried the new MMX setting first but the heroes cursor turns becomes alot brighter and is really distracting / annoying. When I switch to GDI the cursor looks like normal and I don't have the invisibility problem mentioned. Just wondering if switching to MMX would fix the random crashes somehow

One question though: where do all the save games go to? I want to continue a game on my laptop(I started playing it on my pc) but it's not in the regular saved games map?

Swap or trade artifacts in multiplayer
Hello gentlemen
First off; thank you kindly for this fantastic mod! My friend, brothers and I use it a lot when feeling for some good old nostalgic HOMM3 games.
However, I have one question. It seems that you cannot trade (swap) only ONE artifact or item from one hero to one of your ally's hero. You can (apparently) either transfer all your artifacts from your doll or all your artifacts from your backpack; but not just a single item.
Is there a solution for this or is it borked due to the quick transfer hotkeys?

Drag, you mean just from say his backpack into mine? I don't think that works if you're running the mod. :S

We just tried out 3.45f for 2on2s in our latest twice-yearly H3 LAN and:
IT ROCKS! AWESOME, FANTASTIC, I could go on like this using superlatives all the way!
Replayable autocombats are very nice to save your fellowplayers some time.
Since we play 2 2on2s simultaneously to reduce waiting time for everyone the "start round after click" option makes for comfortable playing as well!

I'm having trouble playing HD mod over Gameranger. Whenever a we host the other players HD mod opens but nothing happens for about 20 seconds, then there is an error message for about 1 frame and the game just exits. Is this a common problem and how to fix it? We can play vanilla over hamachi just fine, but I heard HD mod doesn't work with hamachi.

Portal of Summoning bug
Thanks a lot for the HD mod! It is definitely a wonderful boost for many Heroes fans' experience!
Not sure if anyone has reported the following bug, but several players discovered it in the latest version.
Bug report: Building certain items for a fraction can have a similar effect of building the Portal of Summoning (Dungeon). Players can click an empty slot in the lower-left panel to recruit creatures from external dwellings.
This bug was first discovered by quamarine of gamerhome.net. Another player systematically summarized the bug (see below) and provided the following picture.

Dungeon: Portal of Summoning (normal)
Tower: Library (bugged)
Rampart: Treasury (bugged)
Stronghold: Ballista Yard (bugged)
Inferno: Town Gate (bugged)
Castle: Brotherhood of the Sword (bugged)
Fortress: Blood Obelisk (bugged)
Necropolis: Skeleton Transformer (bugged)
Conflux: Any building action can trigger this bug (uber bugged)

This is indeed a bug.
But Conflux can trigger the bug as well after building the Magic University.
In Cove town (Horn of the Abyss) the Thieves Guild needs to be built to encounter the bug.

Hi, I have a question:
when I use heroes3.exe, between some windows, there is a sort of "black fade" effect (I don't know how to call it properly, sorry). For example when I switch between adventure and castle windows, and when entering the battle.
Hovewer with this mod it seems it's not replicated, at least by default options, but I couldn't see an option in the advanced/custom .ini that might help me.
The game still works fine about everything else, but about that effect the screen changing is just "instant".
Is this normal? Too bad if it's not implemented because I think it was kinda nice.

I think it's been done to increase efficiency, as to spend less time waiting doing nothing.
Same concept as not having to wait till the battle engagement music has finished before you can start fighting.
TL: DR: I think it's intended yes .

This isn't really related to the mod directly, but are there any plans to make a Heroes IV version?
The resolutions the game supports natively are really crippling for someone with 1440x900 monitor.

I played a few games with the HD tool and I must say that I do not intend to run the game without it any time soon 
I just wondered if any of the future releases would switch the Wight and Wraith small icons back to their RoE 1.0 state? One of the official patches replaced them.

If I may:
Some features I like to see added:
1. An option for faster battle animations. Like the 'Fast Battle Animations' ERA mod.
2. An extra end-timer option for 1.30 minutes. A balance between 1 (too short) and 2 minutes (to long). Maybe If you could set the chess timer to not accumulate time as an option?
3. Forced auto combat if the chess timer ends while in tactical combat
4. If you could skip the delay intirely when the game waits for sounds to finish playing out before unlocking the interface. I think 'Avync sound' options already does help with this, but no delay at all could be nice, too.
5. 8x zoom (or more) for XXL maps

(I don't know what is possible within reason, or fits concept. It's just wishes, really.

Bug report. I've found a technical network issue caused by using HDmod, it seems.
Okay so, the issue is that If you start Heroes 3 with HDmod the game cannot initialize the IPX protocol properly (using an IPX wrapper). It works fine without HDmod enable. Weird.
Try it yourself. It's quick.
