What template you were playing? I suggest you to try something like mt_Jebus, if you're willing to play with richer maps, and this is also a very good template, if you want your games to be as balanced as possible. Basically, the game creates two identical layers for the players. (all objects are placed the same, same guards etc, only heroes are different)

Sorry if you knew this one already, it just sounds like it would a perfect template for you to try.

However, this isn't what my post was about. It was about poverty of Rough zones.

There's something that prevents the game from spawning Map Objects on Rough terrain, and I guess that this is not due to templates. Yes, templates tell the game how many zones there will be, how they will be connected and how rich they will be, but my guess is that some internal mechanic is responsible for Objects placement (with the poverty/richness of the zone being determined by the template, of course), and it simply doesn't (know how to) place Objects on Rough terrain. And this is bad, because it makes Stronghold games much harder and much more boring. Empty map = no fun.

That's why I asked if this is solved in any of the mods. I swtched to HotA to avoid this issue, but so far I played too few games to have any idea if that's solved.

Hi, been away from the game for a long time and started yesterday and noticed that the diplomacy skill has been changed and nerfed, is it true? If so is there a way to change it back to how it was before? I am playing the Hota through HD mod.

Help disabling hotkeys

I need to disable the heroes costume/suit hotkeys that the HD+ mod uses; it's causing regular crashes because of it's overriding of 1-9 number keys.

I have HOMM3 complete and the HD mod installed, using a created EXE and need the hotkeys for costumes/suits 'unbound' or inactive.  Thank you.

following may do the trick:
1) open HD_launcher.exe
2) go to "Tweaks" tab

Thanks for the reply.  I tried that last night.  The UI.Suits parameter actually wasn't present on the Tweaks tab, so I added it with the 0 value and it didn't seem to affect in game.  I hit the numbers, and it still move/removed artifacts on the hero.  I combed through the .ini files and only found the UI.Suits parameter in one of them (default.ini) and changed it to 0, still no effect.
I feel like I'm missing some small detail that is making the setting not be effective.  Further guidance?

not sure if this was already raised, but the shortcut functions of splitting armies in my version isn't working.  Also, during the game set up in the advanced options, as you're choosing the species, you could right click on the random player and a drop down window with all the races appeared, and the same thing for the hero to help speed up selections.  

I have the latest version updated, but I'm not sure if this was phased out, cause it used to work in other versions before but I don't recall which. Some help would be kindly appreciated )

There's a bug in the latest version (5.0 RC81), which causes a crash/freeze when you use view air/earth on a map without underground. The show underground button is still available, but when you press it and then press again, it crashes the game.

I can't send the report cause it gives me an error trying to send it, so I'm posting it here. This bug is repeatable, you can try it on any map.

This appears to be a bug: The Up or Down Arrow keys for Town Screen is supposed to change the current town to previous town or next town respectively. This is described on Page 134 of the RoE English manual. I tried on the base game, which shows both keys work. The two keys shows no actions at all on HoMM3 HD.

Why did HD mod update said creature queue added? What does that actually mean (since I don't really see the queue in battle)?! Is it just an April Fools joke? It better be not, since we are still waiting for good, new stuff for HoMM3, and we're also waiting for HotA update.

Spell Book animation doesn't exist either, huh.

Weard, I think it has to do something with your HD Mod settings. I tested this on RMG, campaing, custom map, and even loaded an old save file, and they all show up with the creature queue.

Just look at my screenshot and yours, the map overworld can be seen in the background in my screen, but not in yours. I think you've just playing with a setting that does not support this?

That's so sh*tty. If I want to play the game in full HD (not that fake HD with the battle and town screen at lower resolution), why can't I get the battle queue too? Because they (the devs) didn't bother and only play the fake HD resolution?

Edit: But maybe their res isn't lower and your screen ratio is different.

Edit 2: I used Photoshop to see their differences (put the resolution a little higher). The fake HD is definitely smaller. Guess I will never experience the battle queue. What a bummer. Messaged one of my friends the photo with the queue and he doesn't like it anyway.

With what settings you're running the HD mod?

Also, remember this is literally the first build of the queue - I'm not seeing why it would not work with other settings in the future aswell.

960x600, the real resolution (half the resolution of the actual screen, that is).

This is probably a stupid question, but how you even do that? I don't even have an option to choose such resolution?

Edit2: Well, since your resolution isn't even "officially" supported, that might be more tricky situation.

Also, ofc the things are smaller, that's how Bara was even able to make this mod.

For everyone else that reads these posts in the future, my resolution is basically the lowest resolution you see when you press the arrow next to the resolution tab.

Edit: The thing is, my resolution is still the closest to the original size of the game, where you can fully experience the towns and battles instead of a passing mirage put over the adventure map.

Edit 2: Anyway, I guess it's over. The true, classic resolution is no longer supported, but I'm still gonna play it anyway. At least I hope the creature queue can be disabled. I'm also starting to wonder if Factory will be available in this real resolution.
