As all of us, I believe, I am very excited about H6, but after reading about the new luck and leadership system, some thoughts sparked through my mind:
Thought no 1: Hey, the new leadership system looks good! It could probably change the tide of the battle! Awesome!
Thought no 2: Wait a second... with a lucky strike, I will only be able to achieve maximum damage ? We could reach max damage without a lucky strike in H5 ? Why this regression ?
I find the new luck system weird because, with a lucky strike, in any game that I have played, you always do more damage with a lucky strike than you could normally do because you were lucky with your attack!
Ex: If I hit a peasant with a sword, I will do full damage because he has no protection, but now, even if I "luckily" hit him, I will do the same amount of damage... I find that illogical.
Maybe I am missing the point and, my second theory, which seems more plausible to me, is that with the new luck system, a lucky strike will completely ignore the foe's defense and my creature will do full damage.
If I am wrong, or right, please tell me because I am very confused right now, this is not a complaint.

Well not quite, most units have a damage range, and even if target has no protection, you'll deal damage somewhere within this range.
Thus, Luck will give you extra damage - however, depending on the unit, it's likely to be much less powerful than in previous games - which is not a bad thing, as Luck was somewhat über powerful in Heroes 5.
That being said, I think the implementation is not that good, as some units have very narrow damage range (making Luck less useful). I would rather have opted for a less significant damage bonus (+50 %, or maybe +66 %) which would be useful for all units.

Yeah, we badly need the elves back, they make every fantasy world original and interesting. In fact, I'm looking forward to a HoMM game where all the factions are elves - old-school wood elves, new-school urban elves, politically correct dark elves, politically incorrect light elves, politically indifferent grey elves, female-audience-attractive pink elves and antagonistic red elves (a.k.a. infernal or also communist elves, with a three-headed unicorn named Lord of the Candie Mountain as a top tier creature).
"Original" means at least partly new. The creature/faction/whatever could be a known one, but it should at least have some attributes unseen before. Hint: the HoMM V elves are no such creatures.

About original faction. Rule of the thumb is that if it seems simple / obvious then it probably is, you guys are thinking too much

well tbh academy seems like the obvious one since it has gotten mentioned a lot already but sylvan seems so logical because there is a lot of lore around them at this time and an expansion that deals with the dark elf origins with the faceless would be great

This is something that I vote for too. I like very much the build of the Kings Bounty series: the HP is ten times bigger than the maximum damage: units with 100 HP do 5-10 damage for example (ranged units do -40% damage as well). This helps for longer battles as well and encourages the use of spells. Damage range (min-max) should be greater, there is no use for spells like bless or luck in the h6 variant if the unit does 8-10 damage. H5 damage management and the ratio between HP and damage was awful: almost all units do 30% damage of their HP, so one 7th tier creature could be killed by other 3 7th tier creatures. That happens when you put everything for action and massacre on the battlefield, there was no beauty in that kind of tactics.

Something I believe a lot have been expecting, an inferno revelation It is probably my fave of the lineup and a big improvement over the H5 pit lord.

Elvin, If i ever see the guy who created this concept art, i swear i shall hug him. Really, really, HARD. By the way, does the pit lord still have vorpal sword? because imo, the sword of slaughter would be a great asset in tactics(you have to invest in pitlords so you can use them to counter large numbers of cannon fodder units)

It looks amazing, and yeah I knew they'd be in the lineup after all. Devils are out, so I'd expect a flyer as one of the elite units.

That's pretty cool that something other than the Devil is the Champion unit. I'll be curious to see what their specials & use are.
However, I'm not particularly a fan of the artwork. It looks like a blurry version of the Homm5 pit fiend/lord.
