Count me in the group that would welcome if the Dire wolf would have had a different model then the Timber wolf. Even if it would be just 10-20% larger. that should not be so hard.. is it?
It also looks wierd if a Core wolf is as big asthe Elite wolf
Also. I smell a in game unit swap.
I just have the feeling that the Heaven heroes playing for the Wolf duchy will recruit Dire wolfs instead of Gryphons

You're so right Dave_Jame, everyone agrees with you.
Sub-factions would be an awesome idea!
Yaaaay!

You know what, I wouldn't put it past Ubihole to actually make a decision like that.

to make it more clear Dave_Jame, my post was not sarcasm.
I think to have wolves replace griffins would be the perfect example of an unique specialty of a hero.
Example:
Lord Snob - The Duke of Wolves
Specialty: Instead of Griffins, Lord Snob recruits Wolves into his army from his towns. The Wolves can't fly or dive but are much stronger and act faster then the griffins. For each 2nd level the wolves attack and defense are increased by one.
Edit:
But sub-factions would work as well, but I don't expect the game itself to have that. That could be a modding project....

Well The new tier system says that all unites in the same tier are aproximatly equal.
So thy Dire wolf is in some part egual to the Gryphon, Raider, breeder etc.

Not exactly. Firstly, we don't know how much of the equality is left after the changes - previously there was a common pool for each tier which is now disposed of. Secondly, this relative equality exists only within the particular faction - for example you don't need to make the Spring Spirit relatively equal to the Juggernaut but only to the Kenshi and the Snow Maiden. And finally - the neutrals don't have to be balanced with the creatures belonging to factions but only with the desired game difficulty and common sense as a whole.
As for the Dire Wolves - it's been said that the Cerberi surpass them in size and ferocity and the Cerberi are Core. So if the Dire Wolves are Elite, this will be either yet another oversight or plain dumb.

Yes... strange indeed.
But remember this: here
It says that the wolf is a level 4 unit like the elementals but it's cost and power are WAY shorter than the elementals.

or maybe the wolves have the same, or similar ability to what they had in TotE. That would make them more powerful then cerberus even if they are smaller and weaker..

Why would minotaurs join dark elves? Only to smack them....yet they are slaves
If memory serves me right, in your thread you use guard dogs as a core Haven unit, and since dogs essentially "evolved" from trained wolves...
There are some people who trains wolves even in real life, to this day. So it really isn't that far fetched, especially since there's a wolf duchy, and they'll probably serve as the main antigonist in either Sandor's or Irina's story.

so yes, the wolves don't look very good. unless they set all the graphical options to the minimum for the screenshot??
and of course, they won't show the water and light elementals since they can't assume the fact that they are probably just recolored spring spirit and radiant glory...
I suggest they also cut them from the beta, so that players will only discover about it when they buy the final game

Or support my campaign of swapping the water spirit and siren, so the water spirit is neutral and named water elemental and the siren fights for the nagas who are friendly to them

Things that are already set don't change in the end. They are not going to rehash a faction that they have been advertising without a mermaid,to one with. The reason is planning, money and deadlines.Modders could do that, but for the final version, things will remain the way they are.
The beta is made to fix buggs, typos glitches, not rehashing a game.Unless ubisoft acts differently from other game companies-publishers or whatever they are involved in H6,they won't change this.
I am not against the idea,I fully support it,but it aint gonna happen.
That said,i really hope H6 will be moddable. Its important to keep the game alive.
Edit: The idea to replace Griffins with dogs or creating subfactions is a sign how stupid the community is.Devs should never fully listen to things like this. They would basically ruin the game.
Subfactions?I would never choose subfactions over new factions. Why have 5 hven subfactions that differ in 1 unit when you can have one entirely new faction? Also, this is not RTS or RTT.
Secondly, these wolves are boring as hell.Werewolves, medusas and what not, would work 100 times better. If I were ubisoft,i would remove them entirely. There is no need to add units for the sake of adding units.
For me,these wolves could be some kind of an omen, something bad must be going over there because they created two identical borig units.Heck, why two doggies?
Honestly,if i get the hands on this game, the first thing i am going to di is either reduce the health of these doggies to 1 hp or make them somehow unavailable.

that's a lot of rage towards the wolves
In H5 they were great. I tink I only played with a stack of wolves once, and I liked them.
If they still have the pack hunter ability in H6, I don't think it would make sense for them to be related to any faction, except maybe one related to nature.
