Would be silly, for example, to have Malassa the Champion creature (tier 7) or even Boss of Dungeon faction....
Something else: I would say champions should be:
Sylvan - Emerald Dragon
Dungeon - Black Dragon
Fortress - Thane
Academy - Titan
NO! give the Black Dragon as Dungeon's champion or else! Just give the Dungeon Boss a Super Ultra Faceless I don't care but leave the Black Dragon as Dungeon's Champion.

There's too many dwarfs. Too many people.
Making too many problems. And not much love to go round...
I like the she-dragon but not the feathery one.
That doesn't look like a comfortable posture.

Actually I'd rather we get some kind of steampunk thingie or even a variation of the H4 golem dragon. No need to see another lava dragon.. Even a thane as an avatar of the dwarven ancestors would be nice to see, as long as the number of dwarven units does not surpass 3. A durable axe/shield core fighter and an elite rune priest should be enough to complement the thane. I wouldn't even expect the thane to be like before, as long as he retains an awesome, heavy, smitey runehammer

As much as I would love to see an arcane airship as an Academy champion/boss I do not think this would fit the setting. Rather the Titan, but I would not be ageinst something new in this position. (But I know many of you would just get heartbroken if this would happen)

Academy can just have Colossus has their champion. The unit can function as a weaker version of the Titan.
Could work very well I think.

Yeah kinda.
But it's so simple, the Titans in Ashan are so boring, they are basically huge steel golems with thunder in their veins.
So a Colossus is just the same but smaller.

I can see it now.
Ubisoft comunity representative:"Great news fans! Heroes 6 is getting an expansion! And we know how you've been clamouring for Academy and guess what, you actually get to play with Academy! And you can recruite all your favo Academy creatures, Golems, Genies, Mages. But not Titans, those are bosses now. We figured, since we're not giving you dragons to play with, the whole Black Dragon-Titan rivalry is a bit of a non-issue. So no Black Dragons and no Titans, no problem."

I'd much rather give steam punk/clockwork gadgets, and units to Academy.
Give them some roughness, gremlins, steaming golems, and rusty titans, combined with the arabian style mageblade, and djinn, and have academy advance technology and magic simultanelously.
Dwarves doesn't seem to be mechanical at all in HoMM. They do everything with rune-magic and thats it. Maybe some kind of stone contruct, which can transform like the fate spinner. I agree though, no Lava Dragon as champion unit, maybe some lava wyrm/salamander on elite, or even core level.

and cyclop took the spot for level 7 shooter. except the mind immunity, it has most of the ability of the titan and even more. and even the immune to mind spell ability is already taken by the pit lord.
I suppose it could still be the tier 7 caster, with air spells.

Too many dragons in the Heroes universe. With so much mythology in the world, anything more than 1 dragon comes across as uninspired and lazy.

Now that's just crazy enough to work. Reminds me of the Mountain Clans from Disciples 2. Now that was an awesome Dwarf faction.
Too bad .dat studios had to go and screw up Disciples 3.

Why's that? They could have Red and Black Dragons that are similar to the classic dragons. They could have Emerald and Sapphire Dragons similar to the crystal dragons from H3 (i.e. walking and tough). And then Wyrms, aka. Kirin. Those are pretty distinct creatures in my optics.
Btw. a walking Crystal Dragon could work very well as a Sylvan Champion and make the Tolkien rip-off Treant obsolete.

Or they could replace the treant with the dendroid
Anyways, here's my suggestion for the next fortress lineup:
Core:
1.Barbegazi
2.Defender/Shieldguard/Battledwarf
3.Salamander
Elite:
4.Bear Rider
5.Rune Priest /Thane
6.Roc
Champion:
7.Yeti

Since dwarves are worshipping Arkath the Dragon God of Fire, I don't see the Yeti fitting well in such a faction.

It comes across as lazy because there are so many other choices for units in the game that every additional dragon takes away a possibility. Why do you want so many dragons? Isn't it bad enough that the mythology of Ashan is based off of dragon gods?
To take a different approach, would you want five different types of griffins? There could be a light griffin, a death griffin, a water griffin, a sky griffin, and a fire griffin. I don't think you would.
