God I hate the pre-rendered era of 2d graphics, I never cared to play Heroes 3 and 4, only because I found the graphics to be ugly as hell! I played Heroes 1, 2 and 5.. still love 2's charming pixel graphics! I'll take the Robin Hood Pixel Orc over those muddy pre-rendered ones any day of the week!

Heroes 2 was beautiful!  I still keep the original box, the user guide and the table with the units stats For me, the graphics in H2 was more inspiring that the graphics in H3. H3 looked better on my monitor, only because the resolution was 800x600

Xhane officially posting the 5th faction reveal 2 months from now is interesting I do not know her reasons but if my guesses are correct it's for the better. Also it's good that the devs walk amongst us eh?

Guys, you're jumping to all kinds of conclusions:
- The Friday news was not the Sanctuary reveal, it's something else
- Nothing is likely to change in the lineup (though it would be nice to see one alteration)
- This isn't a delay, the faction was to be revealed in 2 months all along

I hope they find a more creative name. "refugio" would be a very boring name for a town, even if refugio is the spanish word for haven.

Guys... The game is looking awesome so far! Don't you agree? I mean even if we have this forum, that doesn't mean that everything that every single person doesn't like for some reason will be changed. Yeah, complaining is normal and so on, but we don't have that much to complain about. The creatures are looking great (not all but still enough and they have the looks that are not too childish, not too dark, not too D&D as some say, I've never played it). Some people don't like some stuff, others - other things, we all have different opinions, that's why this is a forum, a place where people talk and discuss. But why do you (not all of you, I don't want to offend anyone) have to dislike so many things that actually don't matter that much and actually nothing will change anymore?

Anyway, there was a discussion and a try to change the name to Orthus 'cause he has two heads but nothing happened. I'm dying because of the name "Vestal" but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to play with the unit and like it and so on. Just like the Seraph who is going to be called Angel and the Coral Maiden - Medusa. The names don't matter that much. And after all - two heads or three, what's the big difference? The in-game model is awesome.

No, Medusa doesn't fit in with a Magic oriented faction advertising serenity. Besides, they intended for Coral Maiden to be a Naga, she will have no petrifying gaze.

Nighterror, I do not agree with all your change suggestions, but your post has brought me to some interesting chain of ideas...
You proposed purple succubus and vile green breeder.
My answer to that would be: no, they are from the same town and need to follow the same specific art pattern... but, there is something more. Those patterns may be in fact a reference to the 7 elements, that are present ingame. Well, let's match the factions and elements:
Haven -> white, light blue, gold + many shiny things = light magic
Necropolis -> black, gray, green + it's NECROPOLIS = dark/death magic
Inferno -> red, orange + flames, flames, flames = fire magic
Stronghold -> brown and some neutral tones + heavy walking units = earth magic
Sanctuary -> blue, light blue, blue-green + a water-based faction = water magic
That leaves us air and primordial magic without factions, implying, there will be two more races in the expansions.
Since I consider primordial magic to be some kind of mixture of all the other schools, I would link it with Academy.
And air magic would suit elves (to change the direction of the wind, so it supports an flying arrow, to run as fast as the wind etc.)
However, this is just my own theory based on ambiguous facts and relations... but, I find it quite interesting...

Well, it is possible that each faction will have a few Primordial Spells, but I think that it is mostly linked to Demons and Necromancer due to worshiping the Primordial Dragons themselves. Maybe they will all have a variety of different primordial spells. Or maybe it can be linked to their abilities such as gating and necromancy... so far this is just my guessing and opinion...

Might be because of Snow/Ice Maidens and Cloudwalker, but somehow I imagine Sanctuary be related to both air and water magic.
Maybe spells like Summon Elementals or Conjure Phoenix won't be related with any of the elemental schools and therefore they will be Primordial spells.

It's not an Ogre though, it's an Orc. Wouldn't you want to have a completely different looking creature for an Ogre, anyway? That's something I never understood with some people here. You would rather have an Orc unit renamed to Ogre just to have more different races but in doing so, you eliminate the possibility to introduce a very much different looking unit as an Ogre later on.
Mother Spawn doesn't make much sense either. The spawn is the offspring, Mother Breeder is the one who spawns the offsprings.
Anyway, it doesn't sit well with me to use the world Lilims. I blame the fans for this!

I meant Mother Spawner, was a typo, sorry. Sounds far and away better than "Mother Breeder", though.

Furies are a more common English name for Erinyes. You might have heard of them, so I won't bother with introductions. If you haven't, look them up.
To tell you the truth. I'm not satisfied neither with Furies nor with Hags. Both of them refer to other mythical creatures, which I like and would love to see in the series some day.
Anyway, the Furies are too powerful, the Hags could fit better in some faction. So I would rather the Harpies keep the 'Furies' for their upgrade and leave me hoping that Hags will make it in, some day too.
Umm... Probably an insider can confirm it... Is the Jaguar Warrior an Orc? Elvin? Cepheus? Anyone?
I'm pretty sure it's an Orc... I would like Ogres to look more like they should, if they ever appear.
Jabanoss, I thought Lilim was just another name of Lilith, but it turns out that they're her daughters. Oh the Community just blundered and with them, Ubisoft too. Lilim is the plural for Lili! How funny...

Not like the faction has changed much, only wyverns left and we got harpies instead
Lilim are the children of Lilith, succubus like creatures. Check wiki, has some interesting info.
