According to the poll Cepheus ran, the skill system won and on the official forums that poll had people wanting to know about the magic system the most, yet in their first update all we saw were a few units we already knew about.
What good is it to ask what we want and then just stick to their own schedule?
They don't owe you anything and even if there was a poll :
1) it doesn't mean it is what EVERYONE wants. There are other sites than HC.
2) despite the poll, info releases have to be planned. Don't expect them to release all in one go just because YOU asked for it.

As for the new inferno town, I am actually quite fond of it. It suits inferno in that it goes against the uniformity of the Haven and Necro towns (both factions being very organized) and brings a sense of the chaotic nature of Inferno.
As for this spectacular news update... yeah I must admit that until they truly give us something more substantial than just a "soon enough" or a couple artworks of already known creatures (though I do appreciate getting something at least), let's just say I won't be holding my breath.

Personally, I think the new Inferno town is great looks better than the H5 one. I mean come on, it was a tower... Now it finally looks like it should have in the past.

I can't wait to see how the Sanctuary town looks.
Currently I'm think the Necropolis looks the most awesome, it's really cool

I wish the Necro and Haven towns took a cue from the Inferno town. They both look very square and simple. I would prefer more asymmetry and unique looking structures.

Nah, it is perfect the way it is. The Necromancers fancy symmetry and order, so it fits them perfectly. Kinda the same with Haven.
Stronghold is kinda balanced between order and chaos, which I imagine the Sanctuary to be as well

I understand that, but they look too simple compared to the other graphics in the game. Haven, in particular. It looks like little woodblock houses rather than a detailed town.

Well, it seems, that my opinion is in absolute contradiction to yours. I love the new inferno town, it looks so other-worldly, chaotic and evil. The Stronghold/Bastion seems to be quite ok, but I just hate the necro town. It's just a stupid simple pyramid with another pyramid on the top, so you can pyramid, while you're pyramiding  (oh, I forgot those obelisks...). And I am also not really satisfied with the new Haven - I liked the one from Heroes V more. It looked much more human, more feudal, more realistic... I know, I know, the buildings where too tall and huge etc., but still it was better to me  And I am also quite disappointed that there will be no 3D town screen. I just loved the flight around the towns... it was really great to go around and around, and see, how your town grows, see all those tiny details... it's a shame, that now we will get just a simple 2D screen (and I hope, it won't look like the H4 town screen

Hmm that's true but I think it isn't fully upgraded, I mean it doesn't even have city walls. And they should make the houses less symmetrical as well, so I agree with you there.

Never said they owe us anything. Hell, I know they have a schedule to adhere to and I'm fine with that.
What is a bit insulting is to imply that we have any say in what gets released by asking with these polls and whatnot. Why even bother asking if there is no intention of veering from their schedule? I would much rather them just come out and say "We appreciate all your enthusiasm and would love to tell you everything you want to know, but we have a set schedule to stick to."

i didnt think they could top the beautiful Haven upgrades but...
omfg necro creatures looks awesome upgraded, the lightning and effects are fantastic!

Missing the spectre and the imperial griffin (Ignoring the Pretorian and the Marksman since everyone could see those since day #1 ^^)

The Two headed Cerbery is a Downer 
But the Ravager and the Ghoul look excelant.. Love them.. especialy the details
The Skeleton looks kinde of pale though...
The Vampire... no didn't like it from the concept and a dot like it now. H-V look bether (heroes II looked the best)

I'm pretty sure the Lich on the wabsite is upgraded as well, not so sure about the ghost however.
Now I can say officially that the Cerberus only have 2 heads to War-Overlord hahahaha

demons badly need some more details and the ravager could look more bulky
spear skellie looks better than the clean plastic unupgraded model but still not good enough
ghoul is awesome
other models are mediocre

Although the Ravager looks better than the roast beaf that is the Juggernaut, it's still not detailed enough compared to the creatures of the other factions. And the Cerberus reminds me of a cow, although I don't know why exactly. It certainly doesn't look vicious. So far Inferno has the worst 3D modelling and Haven and Necropolis are way ahead of it. I sencerely hope they look better in-game.

You've got it wrong, nobody was punished. LaBoule chose to leave on his own before there was any official response which official response was very polite and reasonable. I don't even know if he read it since he simply left, also I should mention that I read his response on a Russian forum where he personally said that he left on his own.
Don't look at me or the devs, the truth is that he took a risk that he shouldn't and he made you all pay for it. And for what? To pierce the mystical veil of ubi's secrets? The new site and planned info was on its way and would appear whether LaBoule tried to make a fuss or not - you can tell that the site was not just a few days' work. All this drama was pointless in the end.
