1. The full animated town screen (necropolis) look gorgeous despite the video quality although I expected bigger town screen.

It's still not the official town screen, I think it's the same temporary thing from what we've seen already. I don't think the video was any different from the one in August, other than extended battle stuff and showing creature/hero info pages.

Damn, you beat me to it Mytheroes, I was about to do a full dissection.
Actually you seem to have missed a few details I found extremely interesting so I'll tackle them if I get the chance to after breakfast.
Thanks for the summary of things you gleaned from the video anyway.

Isn't that the Guardian Angel racial ability from Haven ?

Just finished watching the video posted by spamm, and although there is nothing new (hoped some new race detail) from what has been shown in august we can see a bit more.

First of all I totally dislike the hero screen (army screen seem to be one and the same) it looks al jammed in, the artifacts are all depicted around the hero... just awful, I think that the series so far reached a good point with that aspect so I don`t think they should have change it so radically, in H5 for example I only disliked the fact that if you would find the same artifact 3 times it would have been shown 3 time`s,  made the searching through the inventory tiresome.

Second , I would have hoped that by putting a new artifact on a hero would have some impact on the visual … doesn’t look like it … I think that  being the second in is series rendered in full 3D would have done something about it.   (Note I just fell that you reach a high leave you get the most powerful artifacts, you’re a God among mortals and you still look like a present  … well not exactly but you get the picture, it`s just  a bit disappointing) .

Also It`s just a hunch but maybe some of the special abilities of the troops you command could be unlocked in the Heroes Skill tree, something like in KB., and would make sense they are training to go with the RPG approach more so A warrior based hero would unlock a more battle oriented ability while a magic based hero would make it more resilient the troupes so that they could live longer and he could cast more spells in a fight.

Don`t have High hopes that this will be dealt with by the release date, even if the footage is a alpha stage, and would not consider them a game barker but still after the H5 I really hoped that they would be taken in consideration … o well just hoping that the tame needed to work on them has been put in for a better game play …
Other than that mytheroes, made a good post with other observation, and I must say for the most part of what  I’ve seen  is all good and is peaking my interest … 2011 looks so far away ….
Regarding the art work …

    1. Pit Fiend  - Love the art work with just a tiny bit of observation , the upgraded version could have had some sort of armor, don’t know a plate male , or just a chain with a blazon like the Pit lord had in Warcraft 3, it would fit with the high status of the unit, after all it is the most dangerous unit in the Infernal legions.

    2. The Angel , the 2 swords all tough are cool just doesn’t sit`s well with a faction oriented on defense , Gratesword  / Zweihänder (defend and hit back with ass much power  you can) maybe  a shield would fit better but reading the Seraph presentation “In battle they wield the twin blades of Judgment and Mercy”, it makes sans, but for me fells out of place.

For all the info that has been  reviled so far this is pretty much what I had to say, just cant contain my eagerness to see the new race reviled …

I'd say the UI is one of the things most likely to change when we get closer to release.
It's an important feature but one that can be modified easily in even the latest stages of development.
I mean looking at Diablo III for example, that had tons of UI changes between the various alpha builds and we're still not in beta yet.

I just clicked the link and it opened in my firefox window as a streaming vid. But you can't jump in in, forward or backward.

And yeah, I too miss the glorious, muscular, vaguely homo-erotic Archangels from previous installments. But I guess the gamer world opted for boobies? Or some kind of gender justice (girls can be angels too!).

Don't forget that the Seraphs and Celestials aren't going to be the only Angels in the game.

Mother Namtaru is just badass, no other word to describe her. Please don't dumb down the regular Spider Lady too much!

That boss is absolutely brilliant.
Love the model, love skin, love the colours, very excellent piece of design right there, she's creepy despite the area being somewhat well lit.
She does remind me of the Zerg Queen from Starcraft II a lot, as well as the Baneling, but hey, I'll let that slide.
She's pretty damn cool anyway.

The area itself is also rather gorgeous, really loving the environment designs.

I can imagine more then a few modders bringing out mods that allow you to play against multiple bosses and or use them yourself.

Finally, a decent-looking creature which is actually indeed new, be it a boss.

Is Mother Namtaru a special spider lady, or are all spider ladies bosses now?

She's special. Necropolis' Champion is confirmed to be something like her, but obviously will not be an unique creature.

Wow.

Just...wow.

I now have a sense for what fighting a dragon will be like in H6.  And I'm scared.

If I had to save my life to pinpoint an incredibly impressive feature in H6's graphics, it would be the environmental direction. Wait 'til you see the other terrains - they are all stunning.

And that Aosaw is EXACTLY what the Dragons of this series needed.
A dragon is not a dragon if it isn't a terrifying engine of death and destruction who's breath destroys you down to your very core.

Dragons are supposed to be EPIC, it's about time they regained their EPIC.

To long have they been repressed by the "law of inversely proportioned ninja strength"* and the laws of fair gameplay mechanics.
All hail the Boss Dragons!

(*For those unfamiliar with this law, in layman's terms it is simply this:
Ninjas are inversely as powerful as they are numerous, you see a hundred ninjas? cannon fodder at best, you "see"** a single ninja? he's death incarnate.)
(** don't see, he's a flippin' ninja.)

Hear hear.

As for the environments, I particularly enjoy the fact that, even underground, you can see.  That annoyed me greatly that, in H5, you couldn't see what you were doing because you were underground.  These subterranean scenes remind me of the old Winter tilesets, and that makes me happy.

One of the things I like from the video that I haven't seen mentioned:

Many people was wondering if the slow flying animation from the griff will be applied when moving a short distance. Now we have the confirmation that the griff just walks when he is near the opponent.

Also it's good to see more than one attack animation from each model. And I'm liking the ghouls a lot, they seems to be hard as the zombies, but without the slow movement/initiative from them.

The attack animations shown in the video look good (except the Vampire throwing his two-handed sword and jumping to catch it - this one is beyond lame). But what the hell is the rationale behind the Battle Dive becoming unavoidable? And the Griffin seems to return to its intitial position. This essentially makes it a flying shooter with no range and melee penalty (and possibly unlimited retaliations, if they keep the ability)!

Unless it can't do it every turn, and/or it uses a different damage calculation.

I'm rolling with "can't do it every turn".

If it is an ability that can be used only once, it'd be slightly better, but still it is too great a punishment for the enemy shooters, especially of Haven has more than one ranged creature. I think they'll have serious difficulties balancing the ability if they leave it like this.
