Maybe, but this forum purpose is not to facilitate hypothetical transition between era and vcmi. In absolute you are right, one could release same mod compatible with vcmi too. But what guarantees that VCMI, once supporting map editor, keeps same format as now?
Nothing, so there is a high chance people lose their time coding things into a form that could change within VCMI final versions.

I don't really see your point, Macron. Once graphics are ready, we can rename them, replace them or add them to any mod in the future. No need to do much at the moment.

Screenshots prove, that Fred79 already renamed objects for purpose of creating photos.
So I asked.
And if he creates LOD, it's will be compatible with both VCMI and ERA.
And WOG also can be made at same time.

Fun thing is - right now we don't have any "format" related to map objects...

Not necessary. There is a way to add alternative appearances to existing objects (available even in RoE - h3m feature). And I think patched map editor also provides such functionality.
Also in vcmi there is way to "rename" files without actually renaming files on hard drive. This is how VCMI plays "MainMenuWoG.mp3" when WoG is enabled and "MainMenu.mp3" othervice.
How? I think this is something you can figure out yourself. Quite simple if you know how H3/VCMI works

no i didn't. i renamed the objects, so that they could be added anywhere, to any mod, without replacing anything.
and, can we kindly keep vcmi discussion in another thread? this thread is only for my object patches, and my work. it is only graphics, and not anything else. thanks.

i'm gone, hc. my short goodbye:
the hc got what they wanted out of me, that's all that really matters to them. all of my worthy contributions outside of graphics have been absolutely ignored, and now my last graphic contribution, that i worked months to make, has been ****ted on. i am removing myself from this place. you guys can find another graphic artist to bribe, and then **** on. i'm through being treated as less than i am worth. i had 2 different long goodbyes to post, but it's not worth it. i leave you all with this short and blunt post. bye, hc, and thanks for the lessons re-learned from my previous attempts at being a friendly individual to the general masses. i'm moving onward and upward.

i'm not "back", ml. finding my work on a different site without me credited as the "author" for the work i put into it, compelled me to post here again, hoping to get that issue fixed. the only reason i didn't create a user account there(to ask to fix the issue), is because i don't want my email address available to any more sites than it needs to be.

For those who don't know, anyone can find my ongoing work here.
And no, I'm still not "back". The only reason I post this is for insurance, so if people try to steal my work and claim it as their own, there will be a known source to debunk any false claims they might make.

I don't understand the drama, but it sounds like you reacted too sentimentally to whatever it was that stepped on your toes. I mean saying that the whole HC 'got what they wanted out of you' is not really fair, is it? I don't know what other contributions your talking about in particular, but the heroes community is not the biggest community on the Internet, so the feedback might be limited.
Anyhow, there's some really inspiring pictures on your DeviantART page.
Like the fireworks and planescape art in particular, to me.
Imagine defending against a siege and then beautiful FIREWORKS. 
And planescape is just something I always wanted to see in Heroes. Step into a portal and you're in space or some mystical landscape. This is something I really hope to see in VCMI, personally.

Yeah, HC ain't like that. If you want to be treated with respect, you should probably find a different forum (based on my personal experience).

I found another place to display my work, and I enjoy it there. I'm much happier now. Forum's are just another place to be exposed to all of the terrific personalities that humanity has to offer. Not to say that there aren't good personalities here, I have just seen too much of my old friends and associates' personalities to feel like I should be here anymore. I left them all behind because they didn't treat me as well as I treated them. This forum turned out to be no different than any other get-together I have ever exposed myself to. It is difficult for me to not continue hating people here. They definitely deserve it. It is a pity that everyone has to deal with the effects of some bad apples. But I'm sure there are other graphic artists out there who can do just as good, if not better, than me. I wonder if some of the people in HC will treat the next graphic artist like a valued asset, instead of a disposable object, meant to serve them however they see fit. Judging from all of my past experiences, it isn't likely they will think before they use their rudeness and unprofessionalism to push someone who could have been of continuing value to them, away.

I think you are loosing yourself. You create something, you share it, end of story.
Of course you get recognition, from all the players who gathers in a dedicated place like HC to find gold mines of mods, with the common purpose to enjoy your creation. Just as you when you first installed WoG, ERA, HoTA, VCMI..

Galaad, there isn't any more "upcoming work". It is merely work that I do, and post progress of on DeviantArt. Nothing more than that.
And, losing myself? No.
Yes, I got recognition, but only for what people wanted. I never got any recognition for any of my other contributions to this forum. The last time I shared my work that they wanted, I didn't get recognition. Months of work, all given for free, and not one person recommended me for a "red star"(what HC deems as respect), nor did any mod give me one regardless of no one recommending me for anything. Understand, I couldn't care less about a ****ing badge. It is how this community views such things, that shows me how they value people here. "Thanks" is one thing. No badge = no respect. Then some of those very people who got my work for free, tell me that I have to work harder to gain the community's respect.
The first time I contributed my work to this forum, no one recommended me for anything. When I updated my first upload with additions, no one recommended me for anything. The third time, on February 20, 2013, it was 4 days before anyone recommended me for anything. And when I was finally recommended, it took 3 people to nominate me for anything, and then 3 more days, before I was given any recognition by any mod.
Would you call that respect?
Anyway, I let that go. I ignored that glaring warning sign. I stayed, and contributed more, in different ways, which were either rudely ignored, or turned me into a disliked target. I left, then came back, feeling better, and when I posted what I was going to post before everyone wanted to single me out, Corribus gave me a "star" as a bribe, so that I would give the community more of what they wanted. I knew it was a bribe, I forgave it anyway, and played along, hoping I wouldn't regret it. I posted my last object patch upload. No one recommended me for anything.
No.
Respect.
Given.
The mods and the rest of the community let their personal feelings for me get in the way of professional courtesy, and especially acceptance. Since I have been here, I was willing to forgive. I recommended certain people for "stars", (even when I disliked them) because they earned them, regardless of my feelings toward them personally. None of the mods here could do that, and they are IN CHARGE OF THE PLACE.
Disrespect and unprofessionalism are not things that I need to expose myself to. I refuse to be a part of it.
There, HC. That is what I had to say. That was the goodbye speech you didn't earn, but I gave it to you regardless of that fact. What exactly did YOU earn from your treatment of me?
I'll tell you what you earned. A handful of graphics(and more and more, my baby-step work, to be laughed at now). Only a handful of objects that I am improving and replacing daily. I get better at what I do every single day, HC. Whatever I am focused on, I get good at. Keep that in mind.
