I mean mygame/mods folder. I see it there.

That button does nothing, no idea why it pops, I closed cycle devils>arch devils>hell barons. Just don't use it, it will lower experience.

M_L, you were right about Xeron. With all the requests from Alisapa to prohibit certain crap skills,  I changed the hctraits.txt and Xeron now gets Tactics as hidden skills 100% while he was not supposed to have it.

Commodus.erm

Package replaced at same link, you need only update.

Without tactics he is dead meat but must be defeated on spot.

Are you talking about the spot he spawns from or a different one?

What difference does it make if he has tactics or not?

If he has tactics, he moves first and you are dead before even moving one creature. He is master of barons, they have 28 speed. On spot there is an obstacle you can hide and let clones attack you, see pic.

This is if you play MoD, with others he has no abilities so they can be slowed, imploded, any spell, they have poor stats etc. But with MoD they have what you gave them.

I recommend MoD for everyone,who wants just to:
-enjoy the map and the battles with lesser need of reloading;
-to rest from the other factions or
-to see what Hell Barons do with or without their lair.

Hell Barons have both Fear and Fearless? Wow didn't know that. That's free 400 Mithrils + 2 Ability slots, not to mention you can give Fearless to Demons which is really strong. Also since HB already has Fear one new possible buff for MoD is changing the Fear special ability with something else.

I think MoD have enough buffs,so new ability would be good if not really a buff.

Also said I will give fearless to demons. Fear doesn't stack, no it's unnecessary.

Nothing particular, just in case if Sal wants to give MoD factions some changes then that is the option. And there are also some Enchants that are good in all situations, Air Shield/Shield/Prayer for example.

Previously I didn't test much MoD besides basic fights early game. Now I am playing it to see and I had to do very tiny modifications, nothing important but still: Xeron must not have tactics as hidden skill if you want to pass, also when visiting hell barons lair the names of haste/frenzy do not reset properly in code so you see different names in spell book. Just visual effect, will fix it next time I visit the lair and see why the code isn't read.

But I would not add anything, it is already way too easy and if you start the map with it, you will find the other factions very unpleasant after. Having each devil with 900 HP already at Gerwulf changes the perspective.

One thing is still very visible and makes the game different from now: you will find hatred vs your army creatures almost at every battle, so have to deal with.



And I find very fair that damage is halved when creature is stoned, at least not everything is over kill.

You could place a message at the devils camp for players to know what has happened when they visited it.
I didn't see such message for MoD in the old version.

ML, I visited devil's camp with MoD, and when you do so, the view moves on barons lair, he tells you it opened, you see the obstacle removed in that moment, what more?

I mean look at the code:

This message was there since the very first version, maybe you were playing another faction and expected it or you closed fast, don't know.
As it is is very explicit.

Add 3 difficulty levels, anyone thinks good idea?

Easy: No AI growth, you can play until you have 52 infernos or you die of boredom.
Medium: Moderate growth, no speed increase.
Expert: as it is now.

Good idea I think. No growth at all will be complete slaughter, but at least people will be able to play it as slowly as they wish. I don't think it's likely to speedrun map (which you need now) before learning the map first.

I think just Medium and Expert are ok already. I mean MoD (Mithril bonus 100%) + No AI growth => Infinite dragon caves farming which is just lol. The growth is an important part of the game and player need to learn about it and schedule things properly even in their first play. Map is already easy to play at Expert level if you know what are you doing.

You can also make it like Alexander the Great, having the options to choose and slowly adjust the easy options to get better (for example easy => Caves and Arena give Spoil of War, none for Expert).

I will make more options, about 5-6, not only about AI but also our movement, our creatures base growth and something like that.


What about:
;1 AI growth zero, heroes move twice more, our growth x 2
;2 AI growth zero, heroes move twice more
;3 AI growth zero
;4 AI growth 5%, no speed increase
;5 AI growth 10%, no speed increase
;6 AI growth 15%, +1 speed every month

I don't know how option "impossible" should look like on your map.
I think Warmonger and you could imagine it in the way to be possible playing it to the end.

Having in mind the special levels,I vote from 3 to 6 from your post(would ignore 1 and 2).
Maybe impossible should be 20% growth + 1 speed every 3 weeks.

Heroes don't need to move twice more, come on No AI growth will already be a breeze.

I'd split the hardest option into two - 15% AI growth or 15% AI growth + speed, only for hardcore players.

Hardest option is what is now. I don't increase difficulty. I find the movement of factions besides MoS very slow, at least the first months. You spend one week to run and take 4-5 CB near your starting towns. When MoS, you take them in one day.
