Hell is extreme. To ever attempt it, you need to know the map by heart. And finish entire map within 6 months, as far as I remember. How many towns do you have after 2 months?

I had to remove the mod after Sal sent his file. Suspicious enough that he removed his post right after I've downloaded it. Also, he is Russian, Russians are known to send trojans all over the web. I got some suspicious processes in my TM. Dealing with this snow now. Bye.

Look, everyone here was gentle to you and offered to help. Instead you are snowing over 2 full pages about map being this, map being that, while it is clear that lack of experience is the cause.

There is nothing wrong to be noob at one game, what is wrong is acting dumb and arrogantly like you do.

As I said it was all quite suspicious the way you went about the situation. As the matter of fact (the problem with NPC was not solved and I have got strange processes in the task manager) I had enough reasons not to trust you. I am thankful for the help you and others here offered but screw getting random stuff from random people.

Hi Sal,

first to introduce myself : im 30ish & a big fan of heroes playing since homm1 on my cousin's x386 .  Big thanks for the enormous and briliant work you've put on all your maps.

Ontopic : its the 2nd version of Tew4 im playing, last time was maybe a half a year ago (ver2?). Anyway, the first time had couple of MoE and MoS rough starts till I get the philosophy of the map, then finished at hell with MoE and MoW and decided to give it a rest for a while. So I downloaded last (ver4) few days back and started new MoE 'cause I love the shrines and the uber magic chars.

My problem now is a bug with the shrines I actually experienced twice before but this time im 100% sure it aint my fault.
1st time occurred : playing MoE , maybe month 3 or 4, while going for the red-black tent at the 1 way portal at 200/125/0 I couldnt kill the Elementals so I used the shrines to bypass them (ye thats the time I found about that bug). 2 months later I was close to final 10 battles and suddenly it started to bug every time I place or remove a shrine (10+ log messages showing error). So I though I screwed it and started new game.

2st time : playing MoE again, this time without bypassing mobs, knewing the bug at shrine-near-water and board a boat disappearing ... well somewhere in month 6 week 4 , I accidentally did load on a boat from a shrine and had to suicide a secondary hero. At the moment no problem showed, but when the week ended it started again with the 10+ log error messages so I had to use unlimited movement cheat so to avoid pumping Enter 1k times per turn .

3th time : at the latest ver4, playing MoE again, this time absolutely perfect placing on shrines, no boat screw ups no bugs, till m5w1d7 and it started with the bug again . I'm just about to kill Erdemon, killed Sandro at beginning of the turn, also got 3th (earth) bonus same week, commodus is 68lvl, rest of chars are lower, never took any pandora boxes as I dont need lvlups (1x arena = lvl44 to lvl 50 on a single battle so who needs pandoras )... dunno if any of this might be causing it, so...

any ideas about whats causing that bug? can I avoid it reloading a week/month before it?

Another thing, about Pasin ... since he never ever moved away from the swan pond at previous version (tried more then 20 times on hell / lesser diff) I had my own fix : selecting Item before starting the map, then when u reach the boat , drop the item and then board on ... so he always go for the item and then summons boat to catch you .
After downloading the ver4 this week, Pasin finally did went after me (without having to drop the artifact), instead I used it to block the red tent so I had +1 AD at week 2 which was pretty nice. Anyway, I screwed my game 'cause of slowplaying and decided to restart so I dont lose the first Cave of God ... and the camping Pasin was there again! Restarted another 10+ times, he never went chasing me again. Got a little mad cause I wanted my 2 AD's instead of droping item for him and AD for the tent, so I reinstalled the whole Tew4 and at first try he was chasing again. Conclusion : it works perfectly only the first time .

There are other new bugs around, as sylvan centaurs (at Serena I think) who are having 100% ignore defense bonus from nowhere, or being able to cast chain lighting on CB with only god of mana there and the chain bounces only to mobs and not to self , the old bugs when fighting rust dragons with immune to lvl2 stats causing the rust dragon to autoblind himself unless you attack with no-retail stack, and etc minor things you can live with. My biggest problem however is having to restart or use unlimited movement cheat to continue after more then 50% of the map at month 5.

Hello.

The Pasis bug has a fix in THE LAST version, he will be teleported near red tent when you reach second town.

Shrines: I need to see a save, but in general they are safe. I never overused them (place 10 same turn to bypass some living obstacle can screw that terrain tile internals) but I also experienced a few times those bugs. So far I don't know why it happens, upload a save and I will look.

Sylvain centaurs: this is a wog bug. Sometimes one stack copy the abilities from another. Not a game break still. God of mana is immune to magic also.

Is annoying that you have to restart because shrines, I never experienced that while you imagine I played the map tens of times. But sometimes the players take actions that author did not imagine, so I need to see.

Ok about the God I didnt explain myself enough. He has immunity 4 on all levels except 2 and 3. Look at the screenshot below : if he is at level 2/3 and I cast chain there the 4th hit should be on me and 5th on vampire, instead, the lighting bounces in a square-like counter-watch strike and never hits me. I pointed at the God, while in fact it works with all king of army as long as you are first to act in battle. If enemy moves the lightning hits you

I'm uploading 2 saves here, first one is on the dead-end with the error m5w1d7 (before killing sandro, having 1 successful surface shrine left and 0 successful underworld shrines left) and another save 2 days earlier which works fine for the moment. Havent tried to play from d5 on forward and and see if it will happen again, just because at this point 2 days play are actual 2hours+.

What I did tried since the primary error message is 'Cannot add more objects' is skipping day5 and 6, with Sandro arriving, placing shrines doesn't seem to reactivate the bug. I tried more then 200 shrines place/delete to see if there is a limit at usage but no luck on that either - seems like bug isn't there yet, meaning only 1 thing , that whatever is causing it happens in the next 2 days of gameplay but still no idea what it is.

As for my own gameplay style : I'm using all or almost all of the alt chars to move forward, and when there is a CB or enemy , place a shrine -> get commodus for it, then use shrine again to get him out of the way, and continue exploring with the alt char. Reason for that : commodus's bonus for mithril is greater then the rest.

Ok, here is what you do now.

Download THIS FILE then replace the same in TEW4/data/s folder. Reload save, press F12, then right-click on end turn icon, select "don't display error messages". Then play.

This fix was there (and is specified in the read me): right-clicking on end turn will display dialog enable/disable error messages. Sometimes is important to display them (especially when I work on map) but in your case they are due only to over-usage of shrines, while shrines will work ok.

My guess (90% probability I would say) is that placing then removing over 400 shrines- as you do for every fight- is screwing the game, within the fragile xxl size. I strongly advise against such shrines usage, it is not your fault but xxl maps are already very sensitive with extra objects.

As an extra note: taking movement bonus to each special level (instead of mithril) pays much more, longer the game is. Secondary heroes were given to do all the fights except the AI heroes. At least this was my intent.

Well about my tactics in using only main char for most of the battles, as I said I finished MoW too and almost MoS as well, in MoS I was doing almost the same because of the +1 mith bonus which was really needed in there since no double cast or any wealth bonuses early in the game. I guess I just got used to it from there. MoW is different, I agree, as you need max number of alts on highest level possible before reaching the Arena.

Also in MoE using the shrines as I do gives you extra 'bonus' on movement every time I use alt-shrine-main to kill a enemy/bank, simply because you can cast shrine 1 step near you with the alt and exactly below you with the main which saves you 1 movement on every battle. Counting at least 20+ battles per turn, thats at least +20 movement points each turn, thats why I dont take movement bonuses at 50th battles, and with the high mith I'm getting right now, I'm pretty sure I can rush directly till the end as most of my upgrades are done, except speed on HB's and last magic bonus (which is a max 10 days away after getting spoils). Basically, I'm doing this to prevent reaching AI that I cannot kill with current army strength, no mather what tactics I use . Last time finished with less then 25k HB's with MoE, and now I'm having 10k atm + all but 1 quests that give familiars + underground bonus area near Selena + 4 Cave's of God to take after getting the 4th magic bonus, so ... imo in week m5w3 I'll have 25k+ HB's so its a gg for the AI

Aaaanyway, about the fix, I tried it fastly yesterday and seems disabling error messages no longer makes the shrines appear as shrine of magic lvl3 (as in ver2 I did it with disable msg's too and after a while I couldn't cast any more shrines at all, they all turn out into shrines of magic). I'll continue my game today and see if is finishable this way.

this is my one of the favourite Heroes(both 2-3-4-5-6) map)
I've played it several times, from the beginning in 2012 ver 1.0 to the final 4.0 release!) and it's awesome!
My all respect is yours Valery!
I read a news several minutes ago from Heroes 7....and i'm totally diasappointed((( we'll never get a Heroes 3 remake ((((
I've post this tread to a Hungarian forum and i hope a lot of people try this map...and see what is the true HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC ! )))

Aight, finished my MoE last week (and MoW too) so few things to say about it :

MoE didn't had any more problems after disabling the error message.

Just one, which I'm sure is caused of the same reason with the overflow of shrines : right click on mobs (not AI) asks you if you want to remove it xD

At MoW however I got xp overflow (lvl 6x-100-0) which had no down effects but looking ugly in character screen. No pandoras or trees taken after around lvl ~50, pure fights only and no arena farmed with main char, still it did happen.

Commodus chestguard bugs :

+5 speed bonus never applies on HD's, it does apply on every other creature in hero army but for horned demons:
- for MoE it decreases speed with -2 instead of +5 (sorry I don't have a proper savegame to show you)
- for MoW has no effect at all (you can see it on the chestguard save attached )

You can take benefit from the whole set bonus like :
- 1 item equipped in Commodus, rest equipped on alt char = double move in battle only for commodus, alt char full bonus.
- 2 items equipped in Commodus, rest equipped on alt char = full bonus on both Commodus and alt.
Generally you can abuse that glitch by having 4 heroes with the full power of the set, although that late in the game doesn't really makes any difference. Whats more powerful though is having killed the last AI invader (Borragus I think?) and use angelic alliance + chestguard at the same time as having +prayer at start makes a huge difference in battles.


Overall MoW gets way too easy in the end, I mean , 2 rounds max each battle cause of maxed att/def and insane 500+ damage on HD's, like from Fafner right till Maximus, I didn't even had to make the Mermaids quest, just passed through the necro hero and raped him in 1 turn(only Maximus did survived whole 6 rounds ). I think if its possible it would be nice to remove double cast for MoW and replace with something like block for Efreets or deflect for HD's.

Going to try AtG 1.05 now and come back for MoS or MoD soon.

3BeP, thanks for report. A few monsters stack get corrupted somehow, but this does not prevent finishing the game. Mainly a problem of map size I think.

Also last version uploaded on 23 of July has some fixes, the most important being the "travel in time" structure.  It allows the player to lose 5 levels, so you can battle now as much as you want.

Also Arena got new outfit.

Sal, please. Can the lose levels feature be ported to a mod that works whever you want? In wog it is easy to came close to 74, even if less then getting over 128 with prims.

your arena would look better if you flipped it horizontally, sal. the shadows are supposed to be on the left side. looks much better than before, easily.

he did a really good job with it. i tried fixing it(the old one) myself, if i remember right, and i was never satisfied with the outcome. sal's just needs a little sharpening to finish his, but besides that, it's much better than what i ended up with.

Hmm, I started re-playing this awesome map, but I have a problem that didn't occur earlier. After pressing end turn button I need to wait about 5-10 seconds, then AI moves and after that I need to wait about 5 more seconds. I use turbo mod and HD mod and I wonder if there is any way to make the gameplay more fluent?
