With 4 soulreaver/shadow image/enthral/puppet and shantiri ruins it's pretty easy to control the battlefield. Imagine a hero like Adar that can get access to both powerful dark and banshees. I think such a tourney might be too heavily biased towards some heroes.
Either way I'll probably not take part, I have enough on my plate as it is.

Many creatures on board would at most be 2 a turn, and that starting in turn 10... Dark control 6/6/x would have too much of an edge.

Academy would probably have things easy as well. Say hello to djinn mentor and some pretty early puppets.

Hhhmmm yeah, I also thought this Emp...
That's why I suggested maybe start at resource 3...
We should have a wacky tourney (not just excluding rare/epics)...fur fun!

shadow, soul, shantiri all below 5 cost, cannot use

imho, to play most of the 5 and up acadamy creatures does require magic and might, yes djinn mentor is a good card, but all other factions have got similar great cards

So 5 cost would also apply to spells/fortunes. Fairer though fortune decks would sadly not be viable  But if anything the lvl 6 units would see some play ^^
EDIT:
I think spells/fortunes would be better at 4+ cost. Few 5 cost spells and even less fortunes. Better than having creature only builds.

For spells at 5 cost or more:
There are no earth spells
Only 1 light spell
2 water spells
2 fire spells
3 air spells
3 dark spells
Think everyone would go Dark as has the best against high cost creatures: Puppet, Enthrall and Curse Netherworld

I would call it 5/4/3 tournament, and rules would be that you have to play only creatures that cost 5 or more resources, spells that cost 4 or more resources and fortunes that cost 3 or more resources.
That way, all of the factions would have fair chances against others, and we would see a lot of diversity(I hope).

I like that adaption, but perhaps a 5 4 4, my idea is for us to use cards we dont normally use in everyday GRIND, especially Kai's grand finale Kai with a capital I....

I know what do you mean, but there are barely any fortunes that are above 3rd level and that are really good. There are maybe 1-2 per faction, and all other are neutrals, which means no diversity and that everyone will be playing the same fortunes. :/

i don't know, from my side, having a 5 4 4 build means ur deck must be very specialised and with a might fort deck you can reek havoc?? i dont mind that the pool of cards is limited, i think this means your card choice becomes even more relevant as does your deck build?
i think it can work and be surprisingly enjoyable - but as always open to suggestions.

I might be able to get online (on a computer that can run the game) starting monday evening.
Until then im stuck with this homemade hybrid supercomputer that i've built from spare backup parts. Unfortunately its too advanced so it simply cannot understand simplistic programs like this game.
