Defeated Elvin 2:1
Went this time 4/3/1 Nergal, throwing more spells in than before. Had lack of a few spells (had them but not enough.
Elvin won the first round. I didn't have any tempo in the beginning(a bad hand even with mulligan) , but managed to clean the field with dual insect swarms. Still in the end Elvin won the first match.
i made some alterations in my deck, mainly by throwing out the damage spells, because i knew that i couldn't get enough out of them, especially when i had only one earhquake. Also lesened the amount of magic creatures, since Elvin was using week of tamed spirits. Also put in shantiri riuns and rock walls, the latter with the main idea to be a extra sacrificial fodder for getting back my teleports and town portals
Somehow i dont remember much of the second match... Elvin had a bad hand and i managed to gain the upper hand. I think the town portals came in handy,..
The third match came a rather equal one. Managed to win thanks to a teleport and town portal combo(managed to get the latter one thanks to market i believe), which i almost screwd up by moving one of my skeleton archers and then remembering ah yeah, he can't attack now. Luckily i had a second one and a second place to move him 
Any way ty to Elvin for the games and anybody else too. Also thanks to Dave Jame to organizing the whole thing and i can't wait for a next similar tournament.

At this point I should say I'm sorry. When I startedd this topic I said there will be no OTK decks in the tournament since you need rare cards for those. But when Herold came out, I just could not resist.

GG Sorts, your revenge was overdue  On my second loss I think I had nothing below lvl 4 on my starting hand, I was surprised I managed to turn this into a close game. My first hand was similarly bad so I regret nothing

Seems that my bad fortune in Swiss tournaments lately payed of in this tournament, where i constantly had pretty much perfect hand most of the games.
Well played everyone, and kudos to Dave for organizing this.
Eagerly awaiting some new tournaments with equally fun rules as this one.

Looks like the time is right for round two.
Rules will be the same, maybe with some limitation that will be disucsed here.
The entry form is the same. Who knows that he wants to take part at any case can sighn up.

Why, because his greatest enemy the spitters are out? Get serious Aiso I don't really get why blackskull crushers are that big of a deal, they are worse than tainted orcs and require 5 might. They can be a pain if opponent relies on spells too much but otherwise..

But you can eventualy get rid of tainted orcs by a combination of spells, fortune and attack. You can only do this to crusher with spells and fortunes. And tell me, how many faction can eliminate a creature pernamently with a fortune... only orcs... so again. He is better then most epics if you think aboutt it.
They may be stronger but they fall like flies, he dos not. and once there is a clear path infront of him there is almost no way of stoping him. Try to face them with a not-orc deck. I would like to see your solution to facing him...

Was thinking of some other possible rules for future tournaments.
1. No Rare base set tournament (decks can only consist of base set cards, hopefully future base sets wont be a part of power creep)
2. 1 of a kind tournament. (limit 1 of each card)
3. No Rare veto match-up (each player names 2 of the heroes to do the tournament with. before each match-up each opponent vetos 1 of the 2 heroes proposed by the opponent for that particular match)

Dave is right about Blackskull Crushers, if you don't have Banshees/Spitters/Paos, they really are hard to deal with. I am ok with the rules, and I agree that we can make it so each player name 2 heroes that will play with in the tournament.
I would like to add that Week of Austerity should be banned.

Being able to play with 2 heroes sounds more fun indeed. I don't like veto though, I'd rather have a mutual agreement on the matchup.
A tourney with 1 duplicate of each card might be fun but hella random too. I'd rather play normal decks.

I don't think we should make too many rules.
I would simply want free for all (as it's available to everyone).
The only exception maybe is ban rare/epic cards.
