Yeah it works 2 out of 10 attempts, seems rather unstable to me.

I see a bit of a mess in your screen. You have wog 3.58 installed and that's very bad.
Install Era 2.46 on sod or heroes complete
Install HD mod
Thats all. Mod manager is IN era and will show icon on desktop after install. Do not move things manually if you are not sure 100% what to do.
Then install mods by double clicking on. When opening mod manager, then you can disable/enable the mods you want. You error message looks more like you have two mods not compatible both enabled.

h3wmaped also crashes on startup.
I did a clean reinstall, it used to work before (3 years ago lol).
This is my current setup:
Are there any inconsistencies?

How can I know what's wrong? You don't give neither details, or show error screen, it can be anything, from your OS, your video card, your Heroes game, your Era install. Try first to open game with only wog mod enabled, NO HD mod, all other mods disabled. If it works, then there is one mod there which sucks. If it doesn't then we have a problem, Houston.

OK, it seems to be working, I had a problem with the Heroes Without Limits mod, so I disabled that one, I finished a random XL map with no problems.

Where can I find the ZMxxxx.def creature files from WoG? They're not in H3sprite.lod
I can't also locate ZCRTRAIT.TXT .

Does anyone have the Master of Puppets lod? It had some interesting artifact defs and I would like to use them.

does anyone know where i can find the def that needs replaced in this screen(circled):
i can replace everything else but that damn logo, because i don't know where to find it, or what it's named.

Does anyone knows of a mod that adds several pandora box like objects?
Want to make a mod that does this:
1. Substitute all pandora boxes and a small percentage of resources for this objects.
2. Attribute two random numbers to each box.
3. According to the first number the box will have a level that will be informed to player and within the scope of that level the second number will pick an appropriate battle and reward.
Besides being gratefull for any sugestions, I have a doubt: can I subtype the pandora box at will? Cause I need a "consummable" object so it has to be a kind of pandora box, resource or treasure chest, I think.

If I recall correctly (i'm not at my PC now) you must seach avi file not def for this i lod/pac file.

Bloodsucker, the mod seer huts uncovered uses pandora api, a new trigger made by Game creator, so you can see whats inside. Now for substitute, no idea, you can always create a new object, like my towers, then customize it.

edit: cool! after opening the "video.vid" file(i've never opened that file before) with mmarchive, i found the offending graphic: ACREDIT.SMK. i was worried that if i deleted it, the game would crash when trying to run the exe; and i would have to search for some kind of text file(or worse, not be able to get rid of it because it would be hardcoded), and delete it's entry.
as it was, i just deleted the file; it's gone, and the exe runs just fine.

My problem is: your towers aren't "consumable", they remain in place after visited but this objects must desapear after visited/picked like Treasure Chest and Pandora Boxes.
I know this to work by definning an object as a Treasure Chest of type X and then code the type X to do the deed but in therms of internal game coerence I thought I should be using the Pandora Box type, or do you think it's completly irrelevant?

...damn. the background i was going to use doesn't translate well into 8-bit color. found that out the hard way when i made my first button(the right way. i've made a couple wrong-way buttons before).
so now i'm having to go through all the backgrounds i would use, to see which of the best translates into 8-bit color. sucks, because i would've liked a higher resolution. the higher-res background works fine, but the buttons throw it off, because they're translated into 8-bit in-game.

Whats so hard using "work around"? Create object, after visit delete it and play the corresponding sound, the effect will be same.

Best software to properly convert pictures into h3 8 bit mode is... XNView.
Open bmp file in xnView. Click Tools -> Bath Processing -> General.
Next click Add to add your bmp file -> Transformations.
scroll up to Convert -> Convert to Colours (double-click at this options) -> Choose Parameters '256' and click 'GO'. Your converted bmp file should be fine then.

@ avatar: thanks. i'll give that a shot. i could also(i just realized this and came back to post the info) just use a one-pixel bg border for the buttons, instead of the bulk image that the buttons usually use. i'm such a dummy sometimes.
