[DoC] - The Forgotten Wars
The Forgotten Wars are the third DoC expansion, scheduled for September. It will feature Academy!
Here is a look at academy's invoker, Asalah.
Asalah˘s not just a pretty face, she˘s also a powerhouse. She has access to both Light, Fire and Water, making her one of the most aggressive Invoker to date. Her ability˘s nothing to scoff at either, she can boost the attack value of an enchanted creature. The more enchantment there are, the more powerful it grows.
And don˘t you worry about those Invoker starting stats, Academy has the best Magic Channel creatures out there and they have 5 creatures with a 1 Might requirement!

I am thinking about that comment that Academy will have the "best magic channelers" in the game, so we could have creatures with +2 or even +3 magic stat while on the field...this could mean either one of two things:
1. You won't need to increase your magic stat much, or
2. There will be certain spells really geared for Academy that require very high magic stat, like 8 or 9 where you will max your stat to say 6 and then get help from creatures on the field.....

Just for your info: now that Academy has been announced, it should also be obvious, how the new feature will be called that will allow people to get a card they want:

Too bad that it already exists.
I am impressed that it is going to be the Academy, I expected Dungeon, but to be honest, this is very cool too, since Academy always had wide variety of things and strategies in their arsenal. They were among the most diverse factions in Heroes 5 for example. I can't wait to see the new things for other races, and Academy, hence, the whole expansion!

It is pretty stupid to call the mechanic and the card the same way...
"I will use Altar of Wishes to get the Altar of Wishes!" Wat?
But it is Ubi, everything is possible...

Maybe, but you'd have to rename the CARD, not the feature, because the feature name is apt.

They should just call it the Wish Pit!
I am looking forward to the new creatures, I am imagining:
- Mage: Magic shooter + area blast 1 + magic channel 2
- Rakshasa: Line attack (bigger sweep attack - whole line) + immune to retaliation
- Titan: Magic shooter + dark ward + magic channel 3
What about Academy special of summoning elemental cards....hmmm

Ignatius - Inferno hero
He uses Fire and Dark spells.
He’s also especially good with discard strategies.
One of the new aspect of the Heroes in this expansion, is how their abilities are treated. Instead of being cost activated of purely passive, they’re passive abilities that kicks in when you reach a certain level. Once you get high enough in Destiny, every time your opponent discards a card, he’ll lose some life.
I like the idea of abilities not costing resources and kick in after a certain level automatically, but I'm not sure having to use Destiny stat to do this.....

Just to copy my post from DoC Forums:
"People are saying that this guy will make Kal-Azaar obsolete, but if anything, he will be the new and a lot stronger Belias in my eyes. Going 3-1(0)-4 with him will be deadly rush, and he really can do some idiotic mill decks, we still have to see exactly how his ability works and what are his starting stats. I love the art, but if he is going to be new best hero for Mill/Stall Decks/Slowpokes, I am going to be #1 hater. "

For his ability:
Wondering if "every time opponent discards a card, they lose some health" only happens when opponent does it, or if you force it? Like with House of madness, Twist of fate, Halls of Amnesia, etc.
Seems unlikely because imagine using Pit of Hate and opponent discards entire hand....could mean ALOT of damage....

That is exactly what it means.
That is the whole point of the hero, combining it with Inferno's discarding ability.
There is a reason why I said that he is better Belias, imagine Tower of Oblivion with it? Or Cosmic Balance? Cosmic Realignment? Tons of stuff worth doing with it. It will be incredibly potent rusher. I am just worried that we will see Mill/Stall decks with him, and I prey to god that they prevent that happen.
His magic schools are great, but I think he won't be played with Magic at all on top level because of his special ability, same as Belias.
